if you reserve at this rental location expect them not to have your vehicle at all when you walk in thinking your on point. This the second time for me and it seems like its an issue with them. This location have your fingers crossed when you walk in the door that you'll be able to follow through with your plans for the week or else you'll have to cancel them because there's a billion cars in this city and they don't have one. Landscaping items over $100. When Enterprise furnished me a second car, they failed to transfer the Walmart items. Enterprise stated that they "did not know where the car was" to recover my items. Two weeks past, and they advised they had found the items.. Of course, by that time I had already replaced the items. I was promised a refund and ..... three years later I'm still waiting. Horrendous company... Do not do business with these people..... they have no concept of customary business practices. read more

Renting from Enterprise wasn't through my own choice, it was my insurance companies, however, I cannot say it was a bad experience. Nothing amazing, yet nothing terrible that would make me not come back. On picking up the vehicle, service was ok, the vehicle was ready, and I was given a choice of two cars. The car I ended up with was in good condition, clean interior (not so much exterior) and had a few scratches - which were all documented and signed for on release of the hire. The day before the vehicle was due back, Enterprise called me to remind me - a very useful phone call I must add, I had no idea when the hire was up as my insurance company were paying, so I'm grateful for the call. On returning the vehicle, service was smooth, quick, and professional. All staff spoke to us whether they were dealing with us directly or not. Overall, not a bad experience at all! read more

Called originally on a Friday when my car went into the shop for repairs. They told me nothing would be available until Sunday @ 1200. They called me at 11:30 that Sunday and told me nothing would be available until 3:00. I called back at 3 and said nothing was still available. Called back at 4:30 and they said nothing would be available anymore for the day, now I'm stuck with no way to get to a business meeting that's in North Carolina tonight. I'm paying over 350$ for a rental. The first car I received was so stained on the inside it looks like a group of folks vomited everywhere. I was switched to another vehicle 2019 still paying same price. Had to come home and clean the windows inside and out. Then received a call the previous renters left items in the trunk!!! WTW, obviously they don't detail the vehicles prior to renting. When they sent someone to get the items, the employee actually set in the car while I my daughter got the (other renters) items out of the trunk. Customer service sucks.... Enterprise use to be my go to place for my rentals. Been dealing with them for all my rentals needs for years. Car smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking. Also was clearly not fully sanitized cause there were easy to remove stains. Also beware that while they have a lost and found box there is a chance you will not receive your item or cash back. Corporate refuses to properly find what happened with the item because they simply state it is not thier responsibility. As a management training company and a major company I find this appalling. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very professional but outside of that this company is not looking after thier customers' items. We used this car for a month due to our car being the shop and if we can help it will NEVER use them again. read more

I totaled my car in South Carolina and had to rent a car to get to my sons college in Florida. While in Florida my insurance company had me turn in my rental and get one for the Enterprise there (that was not the best experience. I had been billed for the wrong size car) However, When I got back home (Hampton, VA) the employees were so kind. Collin and Frances went above and beyond. Collin even called the Florida Enterprise and was able to help me out with billing mistakes. Frances helped me a couple days later when I was having an issue with the car I was in, and switched it out for a new one. They were so pleasant even though I felt like I was a nuisance, they did not treat me like one! I would totally recommend this Enterprise! They are next to the IHOP off Mercury. read more

Make sure you take pictures of your vehicle when you return it after hours. We got hit with a $250 damage fee from this place and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the vehicle other than a light vacuuming needed (thanks to my kids). I'm waiting on a callback from this location as to why they charged me a damage fee. I KNEW I should have taken photos and a video of the vehicle before leaving. Something was warning me and I didn't listen and that's now costing us $250. I'm LIVID and will never rent from this company again. read more

I recently rented a vehicle from this location the sales agent was a bit aggressive attempting to upgrade my rental which would increase my price. Additionally, the vehicle was dirty had to request for it to be cleaned. Upon return of the vehicle the agent instructed to return it to the 3004 W. Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA 23666. This location is further away from my home. I've rented from all three locations in Hampton and have received rides to and from my home without any issues. Now to be denial a ride from the closely enterprise location in proximity to my home is totally ridiculous. Even the representatives in the 3004 location didn't understand why I was turned away. I was originally I was billed 192.80 the day of my rental. But when the car was returned. i was billed an additional 70.54. No one could explain why. My rental was set for two days. Thats how I had it on expedia.com when I set up the rental with my hotel. But when I got back I was billed the addition al 70.54. I signed up for the gas option and returned the car with a full tank. I was told I could not get my money back on that. I asked why I was not billed that on the first day for all charges no one could give me a straight answer. I feeled robbed and mistreated. I was lied to from the beginning. I rented a car in April from a location in Norfolk and did not have this much trouble and my deposit was returned the next day like the rep said. I went to rent a can a Friday and was told nothing was available until Monday. All my information was taking and my husband was with me. He goes in on Monday and was told he couldn't rent the car because I wasn't with him, Explaining wasn't giving as to why I needed to be there for Monday pick-up on Friday. Explained on Friday that my husband will be picking up the vehicle and driver and insurance information was given in person on Friday. Issue #1: My rental that I first received had expired tags that were a month old. I finally noticed the third day of driving so I called to get the issue sorted out, but I was told to come back tomorrow(it was still early in the day well before closing time) OR go to NN airport to try them... I'm not going to knowingly drive illegally with expired tags so I spoke with the enterprise manager for this location (my thank you to him) and he said i was able to come switch my car out at that time(I felt they should have came to my location because legally I shouldn't drive the car). When I arrive to the building the man behind the desk tells me again there's nothing they can do and to come back tomorrow. I had to tell him I spoke with the manager and he finally seemed to be able to find another car for me. Finally got the cars switched out with a different one with good tags. Issue #2: Upon getting my first rental car as stated above, I felt like I was conned into getting the basic insurance by the employee. this was my first time ever needing a rental so I was very unsure of myself. Before I signed my name for the insurance I asked the employee if it was mandatory for me to have it and she replied YES without hesitation, but to my understanding now I did NOT need to sign for this. I returned the rental today as it was my last day and questioned this with the same employee and she confidently said she would never have told me it was mandatory, but the fact stands that while we were both in the rental car I signed for the insurance ONLY because she told me it was MANDATORY after I asked her. If she had told me otherwise I would have happily opted out. We came to an agreement that she would cut off half of the 150$ that I owed but still she never believed she told me it was mandatory and replied "if you feel like I said that then...etc". I'm glad that the employees/manager were able to work with me somewhat but I still can't help but feel I was cheated out of 75$, I honestly don't feel like I should owe a penny. I'm currently hard on money so it's a big deal for me. If you are going to be a future customer to this enterprise building which I would NOT recommend after this experience, please be firm if you want to opt out of any unnecessary insurances that they provide. CHECK THE EXPIRATION ON THE CAR TAGS. If you are even slightly unsure ask for a manager. My impression is this building is not well organized and probably is understaffed. Enterprise sets the standards and 1004 Mercury Blvd, Hampton VA is an outstanding facility with the best attitude available. There are two Enterprise options within 5 miles 1004 and 3004 Mercury Blvd in Hampton and through many rentals found the two Hampton Enterprise franchise to be the best I have ever rented from. I have rented from 1004 Mercury location only once and it was outstanding in every way, the best rental experience of my life (2nd - 5th are at 3004 Mercury). Vehicle was as expected, flawless and at a very good price. The customer support was well above expectations, no lines, no waits, ride to or from rental agency, courteous and respectful, I felt appreciated. Highest recommendation. read more

We had a reservation for 3 weeks. We routinely went in during these weeks to make sure everything was squared away. For the first week we had reservations for a 15 passenger van (one of the sporty looking ones) when we go to check on the reservation the next week (week 2) we were reserved for a 15 passenger work van. So we decided that that is not what we wanted and we changed the reservation for a xl SUV (like a suburban). Well that was all squared away...so we thought...until the day came to pick up the vehicle. They didn't have any Large SUVs available. However they told us multiple times that they would have one for us the last week and a half before we needed the vehicle. So now we were stuck in a Durango, which is a nice vehicle, but we were traveling to New York for a week with 5 adults including a pregnant woman and a child. Luckily another family member couldnt come on the trip cause then we would of never been able to make it with such a small vehicle. Neverless, we are a tall family so yeah very uncomfortable considering all of our suitcases. I will never go back to enterprise. Highly disappointed with how everything worked out. read more
