To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to formally complain about an extremely poor and unprofessional experience I had with Budget Rent a Car on January 15, 2026. I reserved and paid for a premium/luxury vehicle. Upon arrival, I was informed that no such vehicle was available and was instead offered a midsize standard vehicle. I was told that the vehicles were "basically the same" because they were newer. I strongly disagree. If I had wanted a midsize or standard vehicle, I would have rented one. I specifically chose and paid for a premium vehicle, and the substitution was unacceptable. The situation was made significantly worse by the behavior of the counter agent. The agent was extremely rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. I was told, quite bluntly, to either accept whatever vehicle was being offered or "take an Uber" to my destination. The agent then proceeded to mock me in front of other customers, as if I were causing a problem simply for expecting the vehicle class I had reserved. No effort was made to find a reasonable solution. Instead, the agent escalated the situation through attitude and disrespect. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I am 61 years old, a businessman, and a frequent traveler who rents cars often. I have never been treated this way by any rental company. To make matters worse, the entire process took approximately one and a half hours, as there was only one agent working and he was going back and forth between Budget and Avis. The agent appeared overwhelmed and agitated and was openly arguing with another older employee in front of approximately 20 customers. This created a very uncomfortable and embarrassing situation for both myself and my wife. This experience was not only frustrating but humiliating. It reflects a serious lack of training, professionalism, and customer service. If these issues are not addressed, Budget risks losing loyal customers and damaging its reputation. This airport and the rental agency close every night at 12 a.m. The rental agency stays open until the last flight in picks up their cars. I have never had an issue. My flight was delayed by half an hour. I went to pick up my car at 12:30 a.m. and there was nobody in the rental agency, no one. No one there or in the garage, no keys, nothing. I was left stranded at 12:30 a.m. with no rental car and everything closed. That was bad enough. The worst part was I called Avis to tell them what happened and a "supervisor" said there was nothing they could do except log an internal complaint. I told them I wanted to be apprised of what happened. Absolutely not. It's internal and that's it. I asked to speak to someone above her. She said no, she's the end of the line. There was no one else to speak to. So that's it. Here's the bottom line: Avis couldn't care less about you, your experience, or any customer service whatsoever, nothing. While I am going to leave this review everywhere I can and also let Costco Travel know, just know that they don't care AT ALL, and I seriously doubt anything will be done. There are three rental companies at this airport, Avis, Budget, and Enterprise. I have rented from all of them. My rentals in total are about 50. This is the treatment you will get when you call customer service. The last rental I got from Avis, when I picked up the car the tank was half full. When I returned it, I returned it full because I have no idea how much money it would take to get it to half. I told the attendant. He said let me know next time you come and I'll give you a discount. Yeah, right, like he would remember me a month later. He could have just given me a few dollars off right then and there, but he didn't. The time before that, I was unable to fill the tank before I returned it because neither I nor the gas station attendant could figure out how to open the gas tank though we tried and tried. Every car today is over-engineered and they are all different. I had to return it half full. When I explained to them what happened, they said I would be charged the outrageous fueling charge even though we weren't able to figure out how to open the gas tank. When they told me how to open the tank, he handed me the keys and asked if I wanted to go back and fill it. Are you kidding me? I had a plane to catch. This is what you are going to have to deal with if you have a problem with Avis, so be warned. The best one there is Enterprise. Their customer service is unmatched and they have always fixed any issues I have had right then and there, no problem. I think that is the one I will go with from now on. It seems that they care if you come back or are inconvenienced.

Ordering your car online is a joke. when you go to pick it up they cannot find your reservation.Customer Service is also a joke. You can wait up to 30 minutes or more to speak to someone who happens to be in another country and is very difficult to understand.I was billed on my credit card twice for 2 different amounts for the same same reservation number. It takes hours to get someone to understand overbilling and a week to get a credit. VERY POOR SERVICE. YOU CAN GET A BETTER RENTAL ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THE SAME PRICE!! I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GIVE AVIS 0 STARS!!!

JUST FOUR WHEELS!! Our church has been involved in mission projects for years in SE Kentucky. We are transporting teenagers and older adults across Middle America for 12 hours until we reach the very narrow winding mountain roads of Clay County, Kentucky, where you absolutely need a reliable vehicle. Then during the mission trip we need to trust our vehicle to get our team to the mountainside or valley homes of some of the poorest individuals in the United States where we will do our best to make their lives better. I cannot say enough about FOUR WHEELS because they have provided us with superb transportation at reasonable rates for each mission trip. The vans we have rented have always been ready for pick up on the date and time we agreed to. They have been clean (Ok, it is hard to clear up tobacco smoke's residue from the seats of a van but a can of Febreeze helped clear up the air when I was tasting cigarettes as I drove the van away this year.) and in excellent condition; the vehicles have been relatively new, easy on gas, and with very effective brakes. But, the best part of FOUR WHEELS in Absecon is the customer service! Every year I have dealt with an incredible young woman whose pleasant demeanor and smile have made me feel so good about dealing with her and FOUR WHEELS. Sol is AWESOME and would enhance any business with her personality, knowledge and willingness to firmly back the company's policies in a professional manner (I have witnessed some truly obnoxious customers attempting to get a rental "their way" rather than by following the rules. During my last visit one man left cursing because no one would be at Four Wheels to serve him after their closing hours; Sol was polite and explained the reality.). Our church knows who we will be calling the next time we are going on a mission trip and in need of a van ... if you need a set of wheels you should be calling FOUR WHEELS too!

Wanted to wait for the weather report for that Saturday. First it was going to be bad but then it completely changed and we were good to go. Everywhere we went people asked about it. Kids on the sides of the road waved and gave us thumbs up. Just like we give for the whole experience!
