I called Nova Cab and explained our situation. Tammy quickly explained how she could help. She arrived in 15 minutes with what we needed. Even waited to make sure we were good to go. Thank you so much Tammy B!

She was energetic and had great information about our "tour of death and destruction " in the Halifax area. She used a microphone so everyone inside the van was able to hear her. The van was not over crowded. She had a play a fun game too. We had a great Lobster Roll lunch at a local restaurant. We learned about the history of the area. Every about the tour was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Halifax for the first time.

The owners, Courtney and Nick, have been so above and beyond gracious showing us the ropes. The campground is just a few minutes outside the Town of Digby, and it comes with a nice beautiful, CLEAN pool. The washrooms and laundry facilities are also extremely clean. Great playground for the little ones, and an indoor place for when it rains. I think the best thing of all is the enforcement of the 10km/hr speed limit to keep the kids safe. There are also cabins down in the back of the campground if you want to bring a group of friends who do not like tenting and who do not have RVs. Perfect next to the washrooms and not too far from the pool :)

Western Nova Scotia is a different place. Big business is nearly unheard of. The nights are…read morequiet. All but a few major roads are unpaved, and if you ask a local there what a traffic jam is, they may just say "I don't know." Our headquarters for our stay in western NS was the Mountain Gap Inn. A collection of little cabins across the Annapolis basin from the little town of Digby (the scallop capital of the world, evidently,) the Inn was a great place to call home for a few days. The cabin we rented was well-kept. Nothing was broken, everything was very clean, and there were all the appliances we could have ever wanted. We had a little porch out front, which offered an absolutely stunning view of the Annapolis basin. It was the kind of view you'd want to turn into a painting and hang on your wall. Beautiful. I will one day return to Nova Scotia, and if I come back to the western side, I'll probably stay here again.

Mountain Gap is an okay place, but just okay. The whole facility badly needs an upgrade. We stayed…read morethere a few times and I honestly did not feel safe in their cottages. I felt like the whole place could collapse at any moment, the furniture, and beddings looked like they had not been changed for decades. However, after driving for 2 hours from Halifax, the company suddenly cancelled our trip, giving "weather" as the reason. But other operators were running tours at the same time and the weather was perfectly fine. Looking at other reviews, I realize this isn't just my case -- last-minute cancellations and excuses seem to be a recurring pattern. This company clearly has no respect for their customers' time.

Amazing summer stay!!!…read more We had the absolute pleasure of staying in the Winchester House of the Harbourview Inn for August of 2020 and we can hardly wait to go back next year! Our unit came with a fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher), a washer dryer and even a whirlpool bathtub. Our room was quaintly decorated and the bed very comfortable. We loved having breakfast on the side patio and Greg and Belinda even supplied us with a bbq for our month long stay. We received excellent value for our stay. We made sure to explore the local walking paths and swam in the pool daily. We also enjoyed beachcombing and the playground daily but the true icing on the cake were Greg and Belinda. They were incredibly helpful and friendly to make sure we got to enjoy all the local hidden treasures of Smiths Cove and the surrounding areas.

Quick notes are the third floor suite is very nice but there's no elevator so if you have any problems climbing three flights with luggage keep that in mind and the "private pool" isn't on the same property as the actual house, you need to walk a hundred meters or so down the road.

We had such a wonderful time at the Admiral Digby Inn last week. We'd never been to Nova Scotia…read morebefore, and picked Digby because it seemed central to everything. We settled on the Admiral Digby Inn, also, because it seemed pretty central. For a random, pretty uniformed choice, we really hit the jackpot. We rented the 2 bedroom cottage and it could not have been more perfect. We were on the motel property but off in the corner, so it felt incredibly private. We had all the amenities of the motel-including the indoor heated pool and the AMAZING restaurant- but we had our own kitchen, living room and 2 private decks. One with ocean views and a hammock that I miss! I had the best haddock I've ever had at the restaurant. Breakfast was yummy too. If I have to pick a negative, it would be that there were no televisions in the bedrooms. But that's not really a negative, because we didn't travel all the way to Nova Scotia to watch TV. The pool was a little dated, but my son, the little fish, didn't care. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. The front desk clerk offered us great advice on what to see and do, and even offered to book us a whale watch. They even had discount tickets to Upper Clements amusement park. I cannot recommend the Admiral Digby Inn highly enough. We're hoping to visit next year!
