From beginning planning, to the wedding and then to heading home- Allied Travel made everything so easy! Jody and Dean both really care about their customers, and went completely above and beyond to make this the best time of our lives! We also felt so safe having them on our sides with disaster planning, when we found out that Punta Cana was in the path of Hurricane Irma. I don't think we will ever book another vacation without Allied Travel again!!! They were THAT good!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting and doing business with Norma of Odyssey Travel. I had called her at…read morefirst and within the first few minutes of our conversation I knew I was talking to the correct person. First of all Norma was very pleasant and personable on the phone. I told her I was going to Barcelona Paris and Rome within the next three weeks. She was so knowledgeable and knew exactly what to recommend, details on the train and what to see and do. We had such an instant rapport I jumped in my car to go to her office in Altoona to meet her. I walked in and Norma was there at her desk. She is a one woman show; owner, agent and expert in ALL areas of travel and locations. Many travel agents want to push. Norma doesn't. She asks what is important to you; recommends and tailors your trip around your needs and interests. She is unique in that she is very knowledgeable about ALL modes of travel; air, cruise, train and ALL areas Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Mexico and more. A one stop shop. And ... let's not forget it costs NOTHING to use Odyssey's services! This is the best kept secret and I've found it. With travel up and all the potential issues why not let Norma plan everything from start to finish. Her rates are even lower than what I can book! She caters to couples families and even single travelers. Treat yourself and let Norma do all the work and planning. You'll be glad you did. The only thing you have to worry about is how to have fun.

The beds were super comfortable and it was located right downtown near lots of restaurants and bars which was fantastic. The sink was outside of the bathroom which was helpful so if someone was in the bathroom someone else can still be getting ready at the sink. I was shocked by the full length windows we had which brought great natural light into the room and we event had a couch in the room to spread out stuff out and a mini-fridge which was great. Everyone at the hotel was extremely polite and helpful and the front desk was more than happy to answer our many questions whenever we had them. Parking is $30 if you use the hotel lot but we found free parking on the bridge about a 10 minute walk away which was great. The included breakfast was fantastic as well-a nice choice of hot items including eggs, French toast, sausage and bacon as well as fresh made oatmeal with topics, breads/muffins, fresh fruit and various cereals to choose from including the option for Almond milk as well as Orange and Apple Juice. I will absolutely be staying at this hotel again if I am again in Des Moines-I cannot say enough good things about this place!

Everywhere you look, there seems to be something worn, scuffed, stained, or in need of attention. That starts in the lobby, where the floors, doors, walls, and other surfaces have visible scuffs, stains, and marks. The same continues into the guest rooms. The woodwork in my room was scuffed and banged up, the carpet was worn and stained in places, and the couch was in rough shape. There was also an extremely strong acetone-like smell around the front desk area. You could smell it almost immediately upon entering the hotel, and it was very unpleasant. The parking situation isn't ideal either. The garage is across the street rather than connected to the hotel, parking is limited with no guarantee that you'll have an overnight spot, and it costs $30 per night. For that price, I would expect something considerably more convenient. Even the pillows were disappointing. They were extremely flimsy and squashy, and I had to stack several together just to get a reasonable amount of support. Overall, the hotel feels tired and overdue for substantial upgrades rather than just a few cosmetic touch-ups. Between the worn condition of the property, the unpleasant smell in the lobby, the inconvenient and expensive parking, and the uncomfortable pillows, I would not stay here again.

Incredible Integrity - Staff Went Above and Beyond!…read more We are beyond grateful for the incredible team at the Country Inn & Suites in Indianola. My son accidentally left his wallet behind, and the honesty and effort shown by the staff were truly remarkable. A huge thank you to Adam, Rebekah, Ashley, and Kat for their kindness and for going the extra mile to ensure the wallet was found and safely mailed back to him. It is rare to find such a dedicated and trustworthy group of people. They turned a stressful situation into a heartwarming experience. We can't recommend this hotel enough--not just for the stay, but for the wonderful people who run it!
