After making payments on a $35,000 vehicle loan and paying hundreds of dollars in interest over the life of the loan, Fitzsimons reported a late payment to the credit bureaus over a balance of just $10.38 that was paid one day late. When I contacted customer service to request a goodwill adjustment, I was told they could not help me over the phone and that I would need to handwrite and mail a letter requesting leniency. In 2026, requiring customers to send handwritten letters for something that could be reviewed in a few minutes feels outdated and unnecessarily burdensome. I understand lenders have policies, but there should be room for common-sense discretion, especially for customers with otherwise positive payment histories. Reporting a customer to the credit bureaus over a $10.38 balance that was resolved almost immediately feels punitive rather than customer-focused. This experience has left me questioning whether Fitzsimons Credit Union values long-term member relationships. I expected more flexibility and better customer service from a credit union.

Walked in and two tellers were waiting for something to do. I stayed on hold, hold music playing, and tellers answered my question. I stopped at the front desk and asked what might be the delay. The receptionist pulled her ear bud out and replied, "Huh?" Customer service is dead.

They have a great app for checking your accounts and have recently added the feature where you can do mobile deposits. It is really cool and fabulously convenient. It can be 2 am and you can deposit a check from your lazy boy. The only bummer is it doesn't work for depositing cash. I deal with 2 area banks but most of my business has come here because of the superior service and communication. I recently even refinanced my car just so I could move the loan to them. Not like you need to refinance a 3.99% loan... But they actually could give me a better rate! Go talk to Karla, Debbie, Ann, Julie, Nick or Brandon. They will gladly help you with whatever you need.
