WE LOVED ENOTA! Here's the thing guys there are lots of mixed reviews but I'm gonna set you straight! If you want a swimming pool, perfectly manicured sites, organized activities, "RV Park" amenities, a ton of restaurants in driving distance and to pay hundreds of dollars to be entertained by theme parks, putt putt, boat rentals, etc-this is NOT the place for you. If you want to stay connected to the outside world, this IS NOT the place for you. HOWEVER, Enota means, "Healing Land" and it is EXACTLY THAT. I am leaving feeling rested, refreshed and less stressed. If you are looking for peaceful, calm, old school serenity and a connection to the earth, this IS the place for you. If you are looking to feel the souls of the ancient Cherokee tribes that lived here and to put your feet in the crystal clear stream waters and hike the lush green forest to the dozens of waterfalls this IS the place for you. If you are looking for a place let your kiddos be safely free range kids this IS the place for you. If you are looking to disconnect with technology and reconnect with humans, this is the place for you! There is no WiFi, no organized activities, no cell phone service, no swimming pool, no paved roads, no gas station within 15 miles, no store within 15 miles, no cable hook up. Sound like hell? DON'T GO. What there IS is the most beautiful, lush, green forest you have ever been in. There is water EVERYWHERE-next to your site, next to the road, EVERYWHERE, there is a cute little lodge that sells essentials(ice, firewood, light groceries), there are shallow creeks & swimming holes safe enough for even the littlest kiddo, there are bunnies, chickens, horses & pigs, there are in ground trampolines and playgrounds,there is A SEWER HOOK UP AND CONCRETE PADS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!! WHAT?!! There are trees to put your hammocks up, there is bath houses with plenty of showers and laundry. Our kids(14,10,8) ran free and half naked all weekend. Campers, the owner of this site loves the land. She told me she worked for God and my heart exploded. She really should call it Enota RESERVE because that's exactly what she's doing. Reserving the land as it should be. The history of the place is so super cool-ask her about it! Due to owners GREED, irresponsible caretaking and ABUSE of Volunteers it is a crying shame .... overpriced tent sites, bagged rotting molding garbage around, decaying and molding RV's scattered around property (EPA needs to get involved due to leaking fluids on ground and eventual release into creek), decaying lodge and deck - fell through boards on deck, moldy stinking cabins, junk yard with cars (you will see coming in to property), no garden, no farm animals except one loose pig/hog, 2 loose dogs . Creator, Grandfathers and Grandmothers are Spiritual overseers; I hope/pray/sage Creator and Grandfathers and Grandmothers will protect this land and get new own(ers). I don't always write reviews ***** My husband and I booked a week in July 2022 at Enota, last minute in one of the RV sites.  We asked online for a stream site and were happy that we were confirmed with one.  When we arrived I couldnt believe how many beautiful streams were on the property and the abundance of flowering trees. We were worried that having our three dogs with us would make it hard to enjoy the property and have a good time.  We went to the different streams many times each day and played in the water with our dogs. The staff were great and our pups loved the attention with treats that were offered to them in the store. The owner came by to check on us a few times and asked if everything was okay.  If you like hearing roaring water from a stream at your site, this is the place for you.  If you like privacy and the feeling you have full range of the property without being eagle eyed, this is the place for you. LOVED my adult campsite!!! My boyfriend and I can't stop talking about our 4th of July weekend away. The staff was so friendly and that's very important to me since I'm in customer service/property management! I keep laughing a little at some of these reviews.... "no wifi/phone service" you're in the mountains. Get off your phone. "It was so busy on Memorial Day weekend" yep, holiday weekend, people. It's probably going to be busy! The ONLY reason I am writing a review about 12-16 months after being there is to say that they have TRIPLED the prices of the tent sites! I logged on to see if anything happened to be available, knowing there would be, and my jaw dropped at the tent site prices! $50 per night plus the $15 fee and taxes prices this place higher than Unicoi State Park and other campgrounds with MUCH better amenities! Too bad, I wanted to return, but your nuts to charge $50 per night for tent sites that are in the condition yours are. With a port-a-potty on the edge of a mud field and a light you leave on at the top of a pole near the bridge all night long. read more

Cozy campground between Hiawassee and Helen. It is an old campground that they are constantly working to improve. Large trees and sites with deck and table with grill. They have full hookups but NO cable. It is fully treed, so you probably won't be able to use a dish either. They have WiFi in areas of the property so you might stream music/video. They rent movies. It's good for kids with a petting zoo, bonfire, and hayrides. Service is impeccable if you have an issue. Most sites are on the creek, so you have a very relaxing place to enjoy your visit. We loved it there. Very quiet while our visit. Spectacular surroundings and very attentive crew. Our RV parking spot was next to a singing brook and covered by tall beautiful trees. Sadly, a rain front came this way from a hurricane hitting New Orleans that displaced lots of moisture into this area, so having trailered a motorcycle as part of our plans for our vacation, we cut our stay short for two days. We will be back. The general area offers a lot of opportunities for riding and nice towns to visit. Check you dates before you visit. Some people advise the camp can get too crowded when special events are held. read more

Enota, I asked , "What does this mean?" "The land that nourishes," the staff replied as we checked in..... Not just the land, but Dr Suan Freed herself nourished our spirits and souls, as we encountered her in the amazing organic garden and farm she labors in, bringing forth fruit from the ground. And the well maintained farm animals of all kinds, were a delight to behold. My husband and I just happened upon this 'sanctuary of life' in late November. We were in our RV and the sites were wonderfully accommodating. The staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The bath house was very clean and the grounds were well maintained and beautiful. And the land with the streams running through it, the paths to the waterfalls, allows one to connect back to the land in ways that most of us have long forgotten. This place was the most amazing on every level, it was hard to leave. It felt as though we had landed in this ethereal land of the living! Return? You bet we will and much sooner then later. Job beautifully done Dr Suan Freed....the helpful tips for us 'other' gardeners, was so appreciated, you should be proud of the work you have done to preserve the land! My friend and I stayed here in mid-March 2014. We camped in the adult section, which is the section you first see as you drive in. I cannot vouch for any other area but this one. The RV, cabins, motels, and family camping sections are a whole different thing. Campsite: The adult section is right alongside a stream, which actually runs across the whole retreat. In this section, there is actually a small waterfall. The first night we were the only campers in our section. The second night we were 1 of 3. The third night we were 1 of 2. Keep in mind that the camping "slots" are quite close together. Also, keep in mind that while we were there it was very cold and very wet. If we had visited during the summer it would likely have been packed and cramped. I don't think I'd recommend this place for summertime camping. Campsite cleanliness: I would say the campsite was 95% free of trash. We stayed in lot 74. I happened to notice some dark trash in lot 73. It isn't easy to see from a distance - it was a small bit of broken black tempered glass. I say this not to scare you away but to actually inform the management. Facilities: There is a bath house! It is in the main area. It is about a 5 minute walk from the adult section. I quite enjoyed this walk, especially first thing in the morning. I did not, however, walk to the bath house when it was raining. I drove. In the women's bathroom there are 3 sinks, 3 toilet stalls, and 3 showers (yes, there is hot water). There is also a small laundry facility at the bath house. Only 1 of 3 washing machines were working. There were 2 of 2 working dryers. Hiking: I want to say there are 4 distinct hikes - one is strenuous and it goes up to the gorgeous waterfall, one goes up the side of a hill, and the other two we did not try. Organic Farm: We did not go see this. Trash and recycling: This could be done better. The place for trash is a fenced in dumpster with bags of trash around it and old bicycles behind it. The recycling station outside of the fenced in dumpster doesn't make any sense. It has signs for the different types of materials. Under the lids is just one giant recycling bin with no separation. All I'm saying is that I was confused if we were supposed to separate material types or just throw everything in there. It is quite possible I over thought this. Location: This is the perfect location. It is near everything - other parks and waterfalls, Cleveland (GA, civilization in case you need something) and Helen (in case you want to visit a really neat and well done tourist town). Overall: I really enjoyed myself. I was looking for a nice campsite (the stream was a huge plus), a place with a bath facility, and seclusion. My parents gave me a gift certificate for $250 to this lodge. As with many people, 2017 was very hectic and in the commotion, I lost track of the certificate. Days ago when I found it, I was surprised to see an expiration date of only one year from the date of issue. These days, you often see cards "never expire" - or if anything, only the promotional value expires. I contacted the business and was greeted with a very stern and cold response: "Our gift certificates expire one year from the date of issue. At that time, the entire value expires. This policy is clear, and we will not help you." The Federal Trade Commission enacted regulation in 2010 which states the following: "Money on a gift card cannot expire for at least five years from the date the card was purchased, or from the last date any additional money was loaded onto the card. If the expiration date listed on the card is earlier than these dates, the money can be transferred to a replacement card at no cost." Not only is this business being a bad neighbor, they're not compliant with laws regulating gift certificates. I have filed a complaint with the FTC, Georgia Attorney General's office, and the Better Business Bureau. If you choose to do business with this organization, do not expect them to treat you like most friendly local businesses would. They do not care about you as a customer, and they do not care about doing the right thing. Even if this matter is resolved by extending the validity of the gift certificate the minimum five years required by law, I will be very reluctant to do business with them. I just returned last week from Enota Retreat and had a most magical time. We parked our camper van at the very best spot they had. It was right on a flowing creek. You could not have asked for a better spot. The cool mountain morning air and the rustling of the water just made you feel so alive. The waterfalls on the property were just breath taking. I could have sat up top of the waterfall forever. just being out in nature soothes my soul. The owner and the entire staff was incredible and so unbelievably helpful. They answered every single question we had and just made us feel at home. The friendly ducks that greeted you on the property were awesome too. We even had one of the farm pigs come and visit us at our campsite. it was fantastic. there is so much to do on the property from learning how to milk a cow, to trout fishing, hiking to adventuring into the German town of Helen, GA. This precious town is worth exploring if you are looking for a fun little outing. I could go on for days and days about my trip to Enota Retreat. I cannot wait to go back and stay longer. My parents, husband and 15 month old daughter had a great time as well. I did most of the adventuring while everyone else just soaked up the peacefulness of Enota. My daughter did especially well though she was teething and a little congested. Our family of six just stayed a week at Enota. The babbling brook that runs by most of the camp-sites made this one of the best campgrounds we've visited! Our extended trip included both tent camping and a 27' 5th wheel trailer. All the sites were fantastic. However, if getting fairly close to wild bears is an issue you may want to avoid sites I & J as Bears are in that area every night. We caught trout in the pond, picked our own veggies in the garden, and hiked to the 200' waterfall for a swim. Proximity to Helen, and Lake Chatug is fantastic for day trips. Bathrooms were very clean and the staff were accomodating My only suggestion for Enota is the garden looked fairly bug eatten on most of the veggies. read more

I have camped a whole lot over the course of my life. I have done it all primitive to cabin, so it's quite easy for me to be a bit picky, with that said, this is why I gave Enota 5 stars and I would have given it 6 if that was an option: 1. The staff - you get real, you get honest. I say it's like walking into Cheers, where Bill knows your name. 2. You aren't a guest of the land - the land is yours. This is what I was told by the land owner. This resonates with me, every time I am visiting. I never feel like a guest, I feel like I am part of the fiber that makes it such a great place. I have found this to be such a great lesson for my children. Yes, there are plenty of staff members to maintain the premises; but I take this opportunity to enrich my children in community, service and preservation. On our way to the playground, we are mindful of any trash that we may be able to pick up. We love to garden and help weed. My kids have loved returning to those gardens and seeing the growth. They too have taken ownership of their surroundings. 3. Happy, healthy, farm petting area. What I love about this is that these animals aren't for entertainment purposes. Although they are socialized from very early on, the animals are free to roam the spacious land. They aren't confined to a certain space, hours on end to be harassed by visitors. Instead they are allowed to roam, choosing if/when they are interested in engaging with visitors. There is no promise of what animal you will see/pet; but when you do, it's because that animal is interested and not forced. 4. Scenery. Enota has such beautiful landscapes. No matter how many times I have visited, I still feel like I left a part unseen. Probably because I get lost in the relaxation of creek that runs right behind our site and don't feel the need to venture far and about. 5. Sites. I have stayed at the tent sites and pop-up sites and don't have a complaint about either. If you are looking for a desolate location, away from civilization and socialization, this isn't the place for you. Find a spot in the middle of the woods and camp. Here at Enota, the sites are generous; but you will have a neighbor close enough to greet each morning. HOWEVER, this is where Enota gained its 5th star for me. First, I have never had a neighbor I don't like. Luck? Not sure. But campsites down, I still find nice people. For me, I want my children to have easy access to other children and I want to be close enough to keep an eye on them and also engage with the other adults. I can't hear them snore at night and that means I am just the right distance. Sites are clean, level, views are spectacular. 6. Hikes. Take a hike, takes on a whole new meaning. You got lots of trails to choose from. If you are lucky enough to find Spirit at the front office, ask her to go for a hike. This is my segway to how pet friendly they are .... you will see why if you visit. 7. Pet friendly. Which isn't always a plus in my book. However, I must say, again whether it's the hard working staff, the guests taking pride in the land or responsible pet owners, I have never seen animal messes anywhere. Making this a plus, since I do love me some doggies. 8. Fees/Extras. There aren't many. There is a laundry room for convenience. You will need quarters and its best to bring them with you. Fishing is per lb. I hear other guest say it's a costly activity; probably because all the kids love to feed the fish. Seems cool for a young child; there is no way he isn't catching one. I love the eggs which can be purchased at the lodge. There are essentials at the lodge as well. I saw another review about the garden being an extra cost - ummm not sure what that's about. The garden is open to guest. If you pick vegetables, you can check with the lodge on the cost. Honestly though, I have been invited to pick what I would like. In return, I pluck the weeds - while I pick my veggies. Not saying there isn't a charge here people. Just saying there isn't a posted fee! Or a ticket counter. Animal food is also available for purchase - I happily pay the nominal price to see the goats slobber my daughter. 9. Bathrooms. Refer to 1-8 about kids. Yeah, 2 under the age of 7. This should have been on the top of my list - but seriously how great is a review that starts with bathrooms. On a serious note - the bath house is clean, refurbished and spacious. If a little mud on the floor is enough to ruin your outdoor experience, then 2 things - you didn't want an outdoor experience and second you might want to check out the nearest 5 star hotel. Multiple over charges without my permission on my credit card and then they were hostile and vicious when I tried to call to discuss the issue. I would hate for anyone to have to experience the treatment we had to endure from the leadership of this campground. If you want a comfortable and relaxing retreat in the woods this is the place. They accommodated my 2018 Heartland Cyclone 44ft RV fairly easily. It's a challenge maneuvering around some but once you set up camp it's smooth sailing. The location utilizes workkampers extensively so it's not as kept up as possible. The owner could spend some more money to update here and there. There is no cell service and limited WiFi but so much to do outside the grid. Everting was just great, i can not understand the bad reviews, when you decide to go for a camping ground, there is always some noise and not everything can be perfect. We just loved it there special the animal farm, with all the animals, not only great for kids :-) there is water everywhere, where you can enjoy some chilling moments. there are a lot wonderful trails where you can hike with dogs. the trash is separated in an area which is closed by a huge fence. i would not go there as an older couple with a tent, but with an RV its just wonderful. for younger people this should be fun, specially in groups. My friend and I visited the area on our spring break trip recently when our car got stuck on the side of the road late at night. We were on the side of the road for about 45 minutes hoping for someone to drive by when the owner of Enota Mountain Retreat drove buy and helped pull our truck from being stuck. She helped us when it was late and had no cell service to contact any help, and I will be forever grateful. We will definitely be staying here the next time we travel up to Hiawassee!! read more

I'm just home from spending 3 nights in a one room cabin. Overall, not impressed. Felt the fees are overpriced and not clean or well kept overall the property itself is not well kept which is too bad because it is a beautiful property with great potential! This place charges a fee for everything and requires a four night minimum stay for a unclean, not well maintained property. I left after three nights. Staff at check-in was not very pleasant or welcoming. I would not return to this property. read more

After writing the review, Rhonda from Enota reached out to me to apologize about everything that happened. She said that they want every guest to feel as though they are family and regrets that we didn't feel that way. I was completely surprised that she called me and on a Sunday at that! That spoke volumes to me. That let me know that they really do care about their customers and try hard to make sure that everyone is taken care of. Of course each company will have its ups and downs highs and lows. But it's how you respond during your lows that makes who you are. Rhonda was very apologetic, and seemed to genuinely care about my concerns. She let me know that the issues have been addressed and taken care of. I admire the fact that she did not try to make excuses for anything and she focused on an action plan. By the time we got off of the phone, I felt better and I'm even willing to give them another try! All it takes sometimes is a genuine apology. Took my family and got a day pass here. Staff was extremely friendly. The place is huge and has everything you could need in their shops. We hiked their two waterfalls and had an amazing time. This place would be amazing for events or large families considering they have 10 cabins, a 4 bedroom house, and even dormitories! read more

Everything started off strong by helping accommodate our 1 night stay request until we got there. Had around 10 phone conversations before arrival at midnight as planned and no key was left out for us. We were hours from home, exhausted, with no vacancies in the area. Walked around the campground knocking on random doors looking for help. No one was answering their main line and their secondary line goes to a sex hotline for men. Eventually we had to take a screen off and jimmy a window open to crawl into our cabin where we had no sheets, no soap, and no firewood which we purchased. The girl who made the mistake was very apologetic, however, the owner wouldn't even stand to talk to me about the issue from her supine position on the sofa where ultimately she was unbothered by our horrible experience. I spent over $300 for a single night and have neck, back, and knee issues and had to climb through a window... The best she could do was offer me $20 off my next stay. We won't be back. read more

I have been to Enota with my husband and he has visited on several occasions as we loved the waterfalls and scenery on the property, however I will not step foot on that place again. During our most recent visit in November 2018, the owner, Dr. Swann, made comments right in front of us as if we were not present "about Democrats being the slavemasters", "Blacks waking up and turning Republican" and then engaged in racist rhetoric with some of the guests about Blacks turning to socialism. My mind was blown and I was outraged at the fact that the owner of the facility would engage such inflammatory and racist conversations right in my presence. I recognized then after much experience with racism throughout my entire life, that that comment was indicative that I was not welcome at Enota. After doing more digging of the reviews on the web, I found that her blatant racism has been a consistent complaint. The land is beautiful but Dr. Swann's open bigotry is quite disgusting. This is a beautiful area, but I'm sure that there are many campgrounds in the area that are as if not even more beautiful. The manager and owner of the campground are very aggressive and have a tendency to make the experience very unpleasant. Also the farm and none of the campground is organic, the owner is not a certified farm and did not even know what organic or non gmo was. Also the cabins have mold on the wood ceilings and wood work. I will definitely pass on this one for our next trip. Also please go to the Cherokee Heritagr website and the county assessors web page and you will learn that this land is not in trust nor was it even Cherokee land. After reading and looking at videos of this place, me and my family decided to reserve for two nights. The articles and videos make it look like some sort of 'return to earth', serenity, peace and quiet, etc type of trip. Not so fast. We arrived late Friday night, after our 2 1/2 hour drive north. The first thing we did was wind through the very crowded grounds to the cabin where our fire wood was to be waiting for us. You can't bring your own wood so you must use their wood. We grabbed our wood and proceeded to find our site. "Eeew daddy, what's that smell?" Turned out it was the dump, strategically located in the middle of the property. Convenient, yes - appropriate, no - it smelled the most aweful stinch I've ever smelled in any type of campground. I made excuses to ease everyone's mind as we travelled on. We reach our campsite and discover the wood we are forced to use is too damp to burn. Way too damp - no amount of kindling, paper or fuel would get it to burn. There we were - no wood, no fire and the stinch of garbage floating through the air. It was cold and we were frustrated and very disappointed. We called the number - no answer. Our wood was wet, the place stank and was so packed with campers all crowded into what was more like a big field than a campground. It was horrible. The "campground" is laid out like a mobile home park. I'm not trying to be funny - it is like a trialer park for tents. We called the number again - no answer. We left and drove 2 1/2 hours back home. We called the next day and informed the staff of our bad luck. Now this is what really gets me. I can understand a place not being what it is made to look like because that happens often. No refund was given - not even for one night. We were given damp non-flammable wood, breathed the stinch of garbage and felt like we were at some sort of mass gathering of unfortunate people, lost $60 plus gas and have absolutely nothing to show for it. We were baited with inaccurate and dramatized advertising and left with a cold campsite infested with the smell of garbage. Worst of all, the staff gave us the finger when they failed to refund any of our money whatsoever. read more

For campgrounds with beautiful mountain scenery, hands on farm experiences with gardens and livestock, you can't beat this place to bring your children or your pets. We went during the solar eclipse and they managed to provide accommodation for a lot of people that they weren't expecting! We didn't have the greatest experience on our first campsite with our neighbors being very inconsiderate of those around them as they partied until about 2am, even after being asked by the staff to settle for the night. However, we were moved to a fantastic campsite the next day. As a non-profit with volunteers, I had my expectations a little lower, but was pleasantly surprised by the service. There are so many beautiful tent sites to choose from, hiking trails into the mountains and several cool towns an easy drive away, like Helen. I would suggest this place to anyone wanting to come to the area for a break. They have no wifi service outside of the lodge, but if you're camping out its an opportunity for you to disconnect and cut the chord for a while. For those who have reviewed this place negatively because of the price, I have to ask where they go that pets aren't an additional fee. The only thing I would suggest is upgrade the bathroom in the adult camping area. This is not a "glamping" location for those looking for KOA style camping. This is the place you go to immerse yourself in nature and fall asleep to the sound of water running smoothly across rock. read more

Stayed here before and thought it was alright for the price. Called again on 10/24 for a campsite for me and five friends and it was going to be over 90$. Try another campground. The only good thing I can say is Enota campground has a lovely creek. Campers are too close together so that you can't feel that you are enjoying nature. It is much too expensive for what you get. Extra fees are charged for dogs and $10 for improving the campground. What? It's run down everywhere. North GA was new to us and we enjoyed exploring and hiking but not being in Enota. The wifi was weak or nonexistent and there was no phone service. This campground is incredibly overpriced - they really nickel and dime you for everything - more than one person and one car? Extra charges. We liked that the adult camp ground is separate from the family area, and thankfully it wasnt very busy. But, if it were busy, we would have all been right on top of each other. Theres one outhouse for the 30 or so tent spaces, and theres no where to go for any amount of privacy since it's all close together, and the bathhouse is a drive away. Additionally, they force you to use the firewood they sell you ($5 for half of what you could buy elsewhere), and it's so fresh and moist that you cant start a fire. When it's in the 40s, the firewood needs to LIGHT! Someone was complaining about it when we were checking in, and the girl behind the desk just went on about the $25 fine if you use other wood or you can bring her a perfectly cooked steak. How about you allow your campers to cook and be warm rather than constantly harping on the fines? All of the charges are in the name of conservation. When we tried to sign the waiver about all these charges, the person behind the desk wouldn't stop talking so we could actually read it. The grounds are beautiful, it's a shame they are run this way. We will happily give our money to a state park next time. read more

A wonderful, magical place to camp. We camped on the adult side which was nice and secluded. There were maybe four other tents on the side that we were on. Camping right next to a tiny waterfall and stream was amazing. The staff was extra friendly. There are tons of places for the kids to play on the family camping sites. It was pretty crowded, but not so much on the adult only side. I certainly wish the bath house were closer and a bit cleaner. There are animals and a garden onsite. We are definitely going to return. Just a two hour drive from Atlanta. So thankful for the coffee and great tea selection in the morning that the lodge had. read more

Great place to bring the family or a group of friends. One of the top camping sites in the US. Holds one of the highest waterfalls in the US as well. Amazing place. Loved every minute. I have camped on in a tent and in a cabin both are excellent. They sell honey, local jams and soaps from Enota! They have a hands on farm that is USDA Organic. Great place for children too! read more

The owner of this property is out of her mind. Such an awsome place but treatment of unpaid workers is abusive. Everything is over priced and she fights with campers all the time. So many complaints that the police will not step on her land.. BEWARE so sad read more

Everyone is a critic these days. I do not understand how Enota could ever get a bad review. This place is beautiful. It is a rustic mountain retreat that is rich in history and you can feel the positive energy from many good times had here over the years. The owner was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The campsites are all nice and the facilities are clean. The day hikes on the Appalachian trail were awesome. Catching fresh trout on site, stuffing it with fresh herbs from the garden and wrapping it in locally cured bacon before grilling it over the campfire... It simply does not get any better. This place will be one of our favorites and we cannot wait to return. read more

Campsites are practically on top of one another and there is zero privacy and zero quiet. I'm not sure if I saw a single adult working during my 4 day stay. The workers did laps with a very loud 4 wheeler constantly (I'm about positive they (8ish yr old boy and 12ish year old boy) were playing and not working. The bathrooms are very gross and there are cleaning products along with a sign in the bath house stating, "please feel free to clean up after yourself." The ladies bathroom ran out of toilet paper over a busy holiday weekend, the soap was watered down, there was tooth paste smashed over the mirror for the entire 4 days. After requesting the bathroom be cleaned it did not look much better nor did they remove the over flowing trash. The place as a whole is very run down. The animal petting zoo is a free for all for the kids. There is ZERO adult super vision leaving the bunnies, chicks, chickens, goats, and other critters to the mercy of small children. I think PETA would have a hay day with the set up. It hurt my heart to watch kids man handle the animals with no workers to intervene. I will not return nor recommend anyone stay here. I was actually embarrassed to have friends come stay for one of the nights. read more

The worst time my family and I have ever had camping. The management stuck us in the middle of a Heritage Girls retreat instead of offering us another site away from them. This group is some of the rudest individuals we have ever come across. The sites are not worth the amount of money they charge for them. Especially for claiming to be non-profit. The government may want to check into that because I'm pretty sure it is only to get the tax breaks. You can only buy their campfire wood which is just a bundle of 2x4s. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT REST AND RELAXATION. IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD. The bathrooms are filthy. One female restroom for over 30-40 families of HERITAGE GIRLS so you can imagine that with these UNsupervised girls how nasty these facilities became in just one night. The management did absolutely nothing about them. We even tried to speak to the group head organizer and she was apathetic. This was like watching that stupid movie 'Troop Beverly Hills' without the classy actresses. Do not waste good money at this campground because you will leave more stressed out than when you arrived. I almost forgot to mention the trampolines that are hazardous to all children. Especially when the kids are unsupervised. We have several nurses who camped with us and there was no way our kids were getting near them. read more

While this campground is in a beautiful location, the staff are terrible and everything is run down. There are dilapidated, dangerous structures on the property, the road coming into the campground is awful, there is no organic farm, and yes there are a few animals but we never got to visit them because the one time they offered to do a hayride to see them it rained and they did not reschedule. They will nickel and dime you for every little thing and actually overcharged our friends by $100. If you visit their website don't believe anything in there because what we were told when we booked vs what actually took place were two different things. Not only is their facility outdated but their whole system is outdated. They only keep up with things by paper and if you don't pay with cash from the store they hound you to spend at least $10. The entire staff was rude and lied repeatedly. Then once we had left, they called and accused our friends of going in the host camper and stealing some ring. We never even went near the host camper. This place is absolutely terrible. We will never return. read more

This place is amazing!! From the beautiful mountain scenery with waterfalls and peaceful creeks, to the quaint cabins and clean camping grounds, to the extremely friendly and helpful staff... this place is like no other!! Definitely number one on my list of camp sites anywhere in the U.S.!!! read more
