I can't say enough great things about this school as a whole! Just the mere fact that the teachers…read morepray for the children is a huge positive for me as a parent! My child was having difficulty in adapting and there was even a bullying situation he encountered. The staff pulled together and nipped it immediately! We had some concerns about the way one teacher was handling our child and that too was swiftly addressed. It ended up being a miscommunication which the teacher wasn't aware of. We have never felt as though things were being pushed aside or 'brushed under the rug' which we have felt at other schools both public and private. The teachers and staff work closely with parents to make sure the students are working at their full potential. I truly feel they want the very best for my child and that they sincerely care. They want each child to succeed, flourish and be faithful, productive, respectful members of society. We are proud to be part of the St. David's family! You get what you pay for here and more!

The absolute worst experience of my entire life. This school messed me up. My parents sent me here…read morebecause they wanted me to get into a good college. I only lasted a year and it was for sure the worst year of my life. I developed an anxiety disorder because of this school. Bullying was terrible and one friend of mine texted me years later saying he was so happy I made it out and he made it out too. Absolutely positively not worth the money. Every Tuesday is Chapel (at least when I was there) so the morning is shot. There's prayer before every class. My Latin teacher there told the class the end was near and we better repent. The best thing about the entire place was the Snack Shack (which I don't think is there anymore). There wasn't even a cafeteria just a gym we all ate in separated by a curtain. It is important to note that the instruction or quality of education at this school is not in anyway superior to the of public school. There is just more quantity. So much more quantity. My friends and I all had 8 hours of homework on a regular basis. Maybe less time should be spent on religious stuff and more on in class work so homework isn't piled on. The kids at this school are dangerous. I was assulted. Don't believe that just because it's private there are not drugs. There are more drugs at this school. I ended up going to public middle school and Sanderson high school. I felt the quality of education was the same, and it was free. I did well in public school and I got accepted into UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Greensboro, UNC Pembroke, and WCU. I am doing so much better now. This school was so bad my friend and I say if we made it through this we can make it through anything. Let me reiterate, worst experience of my entire life. Please please please do not send your children here if you care about their happiness or wellbeing. This school will drain it out of them and replace it with religious nonsense. This place is destructive.

He is reading at an advance level and a straight A student. The school is also very nice and everything looks new. I appreciate how the school engages the parents involvement. I'd definitely send my children here for their education (when I have them ;-)

Sending my child to NRCA for high school was hands down the worst decision I made as a parent of…read moretwo children over 27 years. Let that sink in. Unless your child starts in elementary or middle school, this is not the school you want to transfer your child into during high school years. They have a serious culture problem. The teachers are uncaring and believe loading on hours and hours of homework is the answer for lack of actual teaching. Really smart and talented students have to employ outside tutoring despite class sizes of 15 students. There is no compassion or personal interest in the children. They will make no effort to get to know your child, I mean like zero. The school day is a grid, no levity, no cheerfulness. And the dumb rules! Good heavens - legalistic in every way. No love, no care, not reasonable, and militaristic in application. Now the students. They are worse. First you must realize that even though parents and grandparents sending them there may be Christian, that does NOT in any way mean the children are Christian. They actually seem to have contempt and rebellion against our faith. The joke around town is that NRCA actually stands for Not Really Christian Academy. The girls are some of the cruelest, most manipulative and disgustingly desperate for male attention that they will do just about anything. The boys are actually in on the whole game too. The clicks are extreme and there's no tolerance for just trying to be a nice person. Like the movie, 'Mean Girls' AND now boys could write a script here. It's like some of the most twisted bullying you would ever imagine. My second biggest regret as a parent was I didn't pull my child out faster. It had a profoundly negative impact on my child who had never until coming to NRCA had any drama at school. Friends and family of ours would comment how evil some of the stories were and that it sounded like '13 Reasons Why' nearly every week our child was there. There are better high school options, just keep looking.

I love that there are field trips that are scheduled that help them learn the material and reiterate what was taught in the classroom. Being a parent, we are all involved in our children's success, and I am happy to be there to help volunteer and meet my children's friends and teachers. My sons' teachers are very involved and communicate when they have weaknesses and strengths that we need to work on or continue to enhance. If every year continues to be like this year, I will be more then satisfied with what Magellan has done for my children.

I have never experienced the kindness and genuine desire for your child to be the best like Magellan offers. The staff know who you are if you call. They know your child's name. They give the children incentives to do well in academics and behavior (they use a coupon system that gives them a reward day). They take many USEFUL, engaging field trips. They want the families involved....they have social gatherings for Magellan families frequently throughout the school year. I don't have anything negative to say about this school. My daughter attended a public school in Granville County prior to this, and before the public school, I was homeschooling her. Homeschooling was wonderful because I was able to focus on what she needed and do things at her pace. Public school didn't allow this. However, the staff at Magellan ensure that my child is learning what she should be learning, and they are careful to work with her if she needs extra help. The teachers communicate to parents via email frequently. The school is very clean, and kept very tidy. They have a wonderful system in place. I pray they get a K-2, and 9-12. I don't want my children going anywhere else.
