Holy Moly! Love this gym. Great customer service, greetings…read moreat the front desk, fresh clean towels. All the weight machines and exercise programs you could ever want! This is number two on my favorite all time gyms i have been to, topped only by the Claremont Club in California. Hard to beat. 5 big stars for you!

I hate leaving bad reviews, however, I have given LAC several months to make this right and they…read morehave been unprofessional and have lied to me multiple times. My husband had a membership at LAC, and when we moved in December, he went online to cancel. The cancellation tab was not working (website issue) so he called LAC to figure out how to proceed. The employee told him to email a specific address and request cancellation. After doing so, he called back to ask if there was anything else he needed to do. Another employee told him there was nothing else for him to do and that his membership would be canceled. In January, we received a charge for him membership. He called LAC and inquired about the charge. They told him that his account was still open and that they would close it and cancel the charge. The charge was never canceled. In February, we did not receive a charge. On march 6th, he received a call from an employee named Lizzie, who told him that they made a mistake and didn't charge him for February, but that his account was still open and they would be charging him for February and March. Over the span of several calls with Isaac and Jordan later that day to dispute this, we were told that "the best way to cancel is to come in person". We had been moved out of Lexington for months at this point and it would have been extremely inconvenient for us to make a trip solely to cancel his membership. We explained this to them and they said they would cancel it. We asked for a refund for January- March and they said they would get back to us. On March 10th, I called to check in as I had not heard back. I was told that the health department was there that day so they were unable to help me? Isaac told me to forward the emails that we had sent back in December to his email. When I sent them over he replied "oh yeah, it makes sense why this was never seen. That guy left shortly after this was sent." Poor management on their end for this to be the answer we were given. Isaac told me that he would talk to Jordan since he dealt with issues as such and that I'd be receiving a call from him. I was never called, so I reached out again on March 22nd and was told Jordan was not in office. I reached out again the next day and was told by Jordan that he would report the issue to corporate. And when he looked at our account, he said it was still open?? After several conversations about getting out account closed it was still open?? He said he would escalate the closing of the account, whatever that means? Anyways, we were told we would be hearing from corporate soon. Fast forward to today, I still haven't heard back, so I called and was told by Isaac "great news! Your account is finally closed!" This was frustrating to hear as it should have been closed months ago. I told him that I was actually calling to inquire about my refund and see if corporate had gotten back to them. He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about and said that would have to be managed by them. He told me he would talk to Jordan and get back to me. I'm sure I won't hear back from them as they have not initiated a single call that they have promised. Aside from management, the facility was not wonderful. My husband had also signed up for swimming lessons through one of their instructors. The communication leading up to the lesson was horrible, and then the instructor never showed up? He called and no answer. She called back several days later with no apology or explanation for her no show, and rescheduled. My husband said she was extremely passive aggressive during the lesson. My husband and I are not the type to complain- we try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and find the good in each situation. However, I am so frustrated with this facility. The monthly membership is far too expensive to be treated like this.

Solidcore - Good reminder during a tough class

12/27/21 I came to this class for the first time…read more Unfortunately running late due to parking issues. Isabel was the coach and she was so helpful. The class had already started, it's dark in the room with blue lights. Music is blasting with great beats to get you in the workout mood. There is only room for 15 max capacity, which is great for those that don't like crowded gyms. It's a class you have to sign up for, you can't just show up and attend unless there's someone that didn't show up or was super late. It is an intense workout class, but in a great way. You're testing your endurance on so many levels. I've never seen such a machine or ever tried one, but I loved it. They call it the, "sweat-Lana" which is funny to me being I'm Eastern European and Svetlana is one of my aunts' name. Overall, a great studio and very reasonable pricing. Stop by and get your workout on, you won't be disappointed.

I went to use the restroom, and when I came out, I was told that I could not start because it was over the five-minute grace period. My stomach was hurting, and there was no way I could hold it, which is already embarrassing. Being turned away so abruptly did not make me happy, especially since I had driven over 45 minutes just to get to the class. I was told I can't miss the first five minutes of class to ensure client safety, but I think it would put everyone at a safety risk if I were to have an accident and shit myself during warm-up. This experience was with Sophia Wills the head coach in "community" manager at Solid Core. She made me feel really bad and humiliated

I'd never been particularly athletic, but as I aged (71 yrs now), I realized that if I wanted to…read moreage WELL rather than just morph into a wheelchair-bound slug, I needed to start taking things a little more seriously and start appreciating (way more) the good health I've always enjoyed by doing something to maintain it. A friend dragged me into StrongerLife 3 yrs ago and my life hasn't been the same since. I discovered things about myself that I wouldn't have dreamed were true: StrongerLife taught me that I'm (and, helped me become) strong, more flexible, capable of lowering blood pressure and blood sugar, more energetic, walk 2-4 miles a day with ease, improve bone density and mental acuity. There are options for every movement or exercise in the event you have an injury, or are post-surgery. StrongerLife is way, way more than a gym. It's a community with classes, events, individual coaching, challenges, workshops....and, a slew of professional, accredited coaches (the founders are both Doctors of Physical Therapy) who help us to be the best "old people" we can be. Turns out: StrongerLifers don't think of themselves as old anymore. Many of us (including me) feel we're living our best lives Right Now! We're vibrant, motivated, gain so much social interaction with good friends we've come to love so much. ALL of these things are making my "golden years" gloriously enjoyable. I hope you'll give StrongerLife a try! By the way: A group of us walk every Wednesday morning at 9am throughout the Kenwick neighborhood. You don't have to be a member of Strongerlife to join us, so....JOIN US!! We walk two miles, then retire to Kenwick Table for tea, coffee, croissants, muffins and excellent camaraderie. Make StrongerLife part of YOUR life!
