Dr Moysidis answered my call and immediately left his house to meet me at his office within 30 minutes. It turned out to be a tear in my retina which was actively detaching at the time I called. He dropped everything to see me and had the equipment to perform an emergency laser procedure then and there. I was home by 1pm and my vision will not be impacted in any way. There is simply no way, for any amount of love or money, that this facility or doctor could have taken better care of me. Short of a private helicopter to pick me up and drop me off, there's nothing you can imagine that makes a better ending to my story. If I had waited hours or days, if he had deferred my visit, I could be dealing with major surgery and permanent loss of vision. "Gratitude" is a grossly inadequate word for the way I feel. Approach this practice with absolute confidence. You are in good hands.

Dr. Kandavel did a phenomenal job with my cataract surgery!…read more I had a complicated case: a very very dense, fibrotic cataract; a long axial length; and a small pupil. I was completely blind in one eye and had severe anxiety about the surgery, the possible complications, and wait times. Dr. Kandavel took my super emo, erratic behavior in stride and gave me an excellent outcome. I have sharp, clear vision with 0 complications. In fact, my vision is better than we both expected; I have 20/20 vision and can still read items on my cell phone. I had no pain or blurring after surgery, which is unusual since I experienced both during cataract surgery on my other eye (performed by a different surgeon). Even though he's an in demand surgeon, Dr. Kandavel has zero ego. He is as humble as can be. I'm sure my armchair expert attitude drove him batty, but he was very diplomatic, never condescending, and always sought to explain things for greater clarity. He asks questions and actually listens! He cares for his patients and how they feel and checks in with you to see how you are. Most people don't know this, but Dr. Kandavel's first name is Ganesha. In Hindu mythology, Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, bringer of good luck, and the God of new beginnings. Dr. Kandavel is the perfect embodiment of his name. I am forever grateful that he initiated me into this new vision journey!

I was very impressed by all the machines that were used to check my eyes. The last time I had tests such as these I was a little kid and it was much different, these machines have definitely improved and give amazing quality images. I was assisted through all the machines by Joseph who was very knowledgeable and explained everything as we went. I then met with Dr. Justin Dredge who reviewed the results and took further look in my eyes after dilating them. He too was very helpful in explaining things and answering all my questions. I feel very relieved that my testing showed no problems at this time. Right now their offices are under construction so it feels like a maze, but despite this all staff remain friendly and in good spirits. The space is very spacious and there is plenty of space in the waiting rooms. There is a large parking lot with valet, however Balboa does have free parking. When I was following the GPS it took me to the physician entrance, so I couldn't back up to the main entrance. Thankfully I found a spot further on Balboa street.

He doesn't even know the kindergarten basics of rods and cones. Based on my PCP's professional opinion, I needed to see him for my vision lost. The lazy receptionist wouldn't make an appointment with me because she said eye "doctor" Boyer couldn't help me because since I didn't know what my eye problem is, eye "doctor" Boyer wouldn't have a clue what to do. I reminded the brilliant genius, even if he only understands the back of the eye, he should understand what a referral is. She then said due to eye "doctor" Boyer's greed he wouldn't spend one second with me then, not exaggerating, hung up on me. I waited 2 weeks for my referral to get approved and this tragedy of a business is who I had the misfortune of dealing. It should be noted, this entire review was written while on hold. The robot message said there was only 1 caller ahead of me so I know the brain-stem is ignoring my call.

Dr. David Samimi changed my life -- meticulous, honest, and the best at what he does…read more I've lived with cholesterol/fat deposits (xanthelasma) around both eyes for almost 20 years. They were hereditary--I've never had high cholesterol on labs--but the spots slowly grew and became more noticeable. When I didn't sleep well or my nutrition slipped, they looked even more prominent. People would get close to my face and ask what they were; over the years I was even picked on or teased about them. Years ago (~16 years back) I saw a cosmetic dermatologic surgeon who told me they could numb the area and "just take them out with a scalpel," but they couldn't guarantee I wouldn't scar or that they wouldn't come back. That didn't sit right with me. For safety, I'd already had the areas checked--benign--but I still couldn't find a doctor with a real game plan who made me feel confident. I wanted the right solution, not a quick one. After a lot of research and due diligence, I found Dr. David Samimi (Eyesthetica), and that changed everything. Consultation and Plan: From my very first consult in February 2025, Dr. Samimi stood out. He examined me carefully, marked exactly what he planned to treat, walked me through risks and expectations, and answered every question with patience and clarity. He gave me a step-by-step treatment plan instead of vague promises. I immediately referred my mother-in-law and sister-in-law after that first visit because I knew I'd found the right surgeon. Treatment Experience: I completed two in-office sessions and was seen four times total through August 2025. Each procedure was done in his office. I was awake the whole time, completely comfortable, and felt no pain--the anesthesia and technique were that precise. Throughout the sessions, Dr. Samimi narrated what he was doing, re-checked his markings, and treated me with the kind of care you give to family. He provided detailed pre- and post-procedure instructions; I followed them exactly, and my healing was smooth. He also had me return for follow-ups just to confirm the progress and make sure everything looked perfect. Results: The results are exactly what I hoped for: natural, clean, and symmetrical. I waited to write this until I was fully healed. The difference is night and day--those long-standing deposits are gone, and I already feel like there will be little to no visible sign anything was done as more time passes. (For reference, my photo with the hat is my "before," and the photo without the hat is my "after.") Professionalism, Integrity, and Fair Pricing Beyond the surgical skill, what impressed me most was Dr. Samimi's integrity. He was honest and transparent about cost, which I found more than fair for this level of specialty care. But truthfully, price became secondary; this was about finally having a doctor I could trust to do it right. My wife attended my initial consult and said the same thing I felt that day: "You found the best doctor in LA." Final Thoughts: For two decades I carried something on my face that I didn't love. It didn't define me--and my wife always loved me as I am--but getting this handled the right way mattered. I'm grateful I waited until I found Dr. David Samimi, because the experience was flawless from start to finish: expert plan, painless procedures, diligent follow-up, and results that speak for themselves. I've already referred family and anyone who asks about my experience, and I'll keep doing so. Thank you, Dr. Samimi--truly, thank you a hundred times over--for your skill, your honesty, and your care. Five stars isn't enough.
