I am very disappointed with my experience at Engine Man. I brought my vehicle here expecting honest service and respect for my property, but that is not what I experienced. After my vehicle was in their possession, I noticed that my wheels, alarm system, and music equipment were missing. I am extremely upset because I trusted this business with my vehicle and my belongings. I feel that my concerns were not handled properly, and I did not receive the communication or customer service I expected. I would not recommend this shop based on my experience. Customers should be able to trust that their vehicles and personal property are safe while in a business's care. We found this business by chance. We live in Fayette County Ga. Our 2007 Tahoe had been having idling issues for some time. Our mechanic near our home did spark plugs and coil packs for $1911. That did not fix the problem, then told us we needed a $10,000. engine replacement. We then found the engine man, so we saved our money and found the time to drive 48miles to let them check it out. They found out that our current mechanic never changed the 8th plug and coil pack and our engine. They also cleaned the transmission and still saved us $6000. Wow, these guys are awesome! My wife's Kia blew the engine and after extensive searching for a motor with little to no luck, I was referred here and I am glad I was. They found a motor in house and came and got the car all to have the car running with a new motor in two days. Can't thank these guys enough for the prompt service and great work that was done in a time of need. Glad to get my wife and little one out of my work truck and back in her car! I just recently had a mechanical problem with my truck. I'm from Ellijay and I was in Braselton to get a part for my bmw. I got to Braselton to get the part and my truck started skipping real bad. I was coasting down the road trying to make it to an auto parts store to find out what I could about my unfortunate situation when I saw a sign that said The Engine Man. I pulled in and the owner came and took a look immediately. I was upset because I thought it was something serious with the truck. He assured me that it wasn't as bad as I thought. He was really nice and attentive to my situation. I told him I was 80 miles from home and I needed to get back as soon as possible. He told me he would get his master mechanic Jay on it. Jay got all the necessary tools and went to work immediately. He diagnosed the problem in a couple of minutes. He was really professional about how he did the work. He got his service manager Pete to come see what was going on with my truck. Jay told Pete what parts he needed and Pete got them there in a couple of minutes. Unfortunately it was almost time for them to close and I thought I was gonna have to leave my truck over night. Pete reminded Jay that it was almost time to close up for the day but he told Jay if he wanted to stay late and fix the truck he could. Jay insisted on getting the job done so I could get home that day. Jay told me not to worry that he's gonna make sure he fixes the problem so I can get home. Jay got what he needed and went to work. He used all the necessary equipment in a professional way. I was hungry and I asked Pete if their was anything close by. He said there's a gas station close by so I started walking to it. I was almost at the end of the driveway when Pete called me back and handed me the keys to his truck. He said go into town and get you something to eat. I was really impressed with that. He said we'll be here when you get back. I went and got me something to eat. By the time I got back my truck was ready to go. I would recommend the engine man shop to anybody I know including my very own mother. Everybody there was professional friendly and courteous including the owner. I forgot the owners name unfortunately. If I didn't live so far away The engine man would be my mechanic. They're a 12 on a scale from 1 to 10. Hands down the best automotive repair shop. read more

I contacted Engine Man in March 2013 in search of a low mileage engine with the intentions of having the installation done at a local repair shop. However, after speaking with Pete and being offered by far the best deal for the motor, labor and warranty, I choose to allow Engine Man to complete the engine installation as well as other miscellaneous repairs to my vehicle in April 2013. As a female, I am always wary of mechanics who speak to me condescendingly or slyly; however, I was very comfortable dealing with Engine Man and all of my questions were answered thoroughly and respectfully. Pete informed me of issues that were discovered during repair, but I was not pressured into authorizing any additional work other than what I requested and we previously discussed. He was fair, knowledgeable, candid and professional in customer service. I highly recommend Engine Man not only as a resource for a low mileage motor, but for repairs as well. To date, May 2013, my vehicle is running well with no issues of overheating. The warranty offer is superb and Pete patiently addressed all of my questions regarding what is entailed. I look forward to returning to Engine Man for any of my future maintenance needs.
