I know the address on Yelp says Largo but this fire engine truck was at a food truck festival in Apollo Beach, so.... Sometimes I miss a good New York pizza and this came pretty damn close. The pizza is brick oven cooked and the technique was on point. My love got a surfer boy and that tasted amazing too. When your pizza is done they call your name out over megaphone which is pretty dope lol. Would eat again. read more

Thin, delicious pizza. We found this food truck at the West Park Village food truck rally. My son loves pizza crust, so we had to get pizza. We got a 10 inch pizza, which was $10.50. That's a super reasonable price for the quality and size. My three-year-old son and I demolished the pizza together. I love thin crust pizza and it was made to order, so it was hot and fresh tasting. The dough is really good quality, I don't like to eat crust unless the dough is good and this dough is delicious. They had some interesting sounding options, but I had to stick with cheese for my son. Next time, I'm definitely going to try one of their other options. read more

The pizza we ordered was phenomenal. We settled on the margarita and added pepperoni and banana peppers. The crust was crispy, tasty, perfectly baked and the toppings were very good. I wanted the white pizza with sausage and red sauce on the pie. The order taker repeated 3-4x that it has garlic paste on it and some people don't like it. I tried to say that we're from a very ethnic background and would probably like it. She cut me off by saying 'just telling you'. Scared my guy away from ordering what we wanted. This in itself tempted me to rate a 2 star. The meatballs with ricotta was sooooo tempting too. I want to to be fair and not penalize a company about their food rating, hence 4 stars. The attitude of the order taker embarrassed me and most certainly deserves less than a 2 star rating. read more

This food truck came to my job a couple of days ago. Normally I don't like brick oven Pizza. But it's free food so I'm not going to say no‍. I'm glad I chose to eat it because their Pizza is tasty! it's not too ashy on the bottom(which is why I'm not usually a fan of woofired/brick oven pizza). I chose the margherita style and it was delicious! My only gripe was that there was too much crust. I would have liked less crust/more sauce. read more

It's a shame because this place has so much potential. But for it to be coal fired pizza, I wouldn't expect the pizza to be so soggy. I got a plain cheese pizza, nothing special. I was given a sloppy mess. Dough was bland. Cheese was still its original color and barely melted. Sauce very watery. Super disappointed because it's a great concept. I hired Engine 53 for a smallish social distanced outdoor holiday party and it was fantastic! Setting up the event was a breeze, communication was great and super easy. On the day of the event, they cooked pizzas for the guests and it was a wonderful way to feed people without shared utensils. The pizza was AMAZING. One guest said it was the best pizza he'd had since he went to Italy. We also had cannoli added to our package and they were delicious. Perfectly crispy, the filling was awesome and they were even decorated for the holidays. I can't thank Engine 53 enough for their stellar work and highly recommend you hire them for your event! They showed up at our complex the other night from 5-8. Ordering online was easy. They have a very user friendly platform. Pick your time, pay online, walk down to the truck to get it, and enjoy. A very smooth process. I had a Rick's White and I have to say it offered some of the best bites of pizza I've ever had. When you get a bite where the cheeses are thick, the blend with their tasty Italian Sausage and garlic lights up your taste buds. I'm usually a ground sausage guy but these old style sausage cuts were fine. Don't plan on kissing anybody for awhile. It's heavy on the garlic and it will take overnight to kill the bad breath. :). My wife had a plain old Margarita, and they do it the way she likes it. Simple, no red sauce base. Cooked perfectly, she gave it a 5. Their basic location is over on Starkey near the tag office. It's about a 20 minute ride for me. It's worth it. read more

I had heard good things and finally had the chance to try this pizza at an event. I was a little bummed out about their white pizza when I found out they don't use the traditional Alfredo base but instead use a garlic olive oil. So I opted for the pepperoni pizza. The pizza was ok and the crust really good. I felt the pizza was over priced for what you get. The only personal pizza I'm paying $10 for is an authentic Napoli pizza. I've been coming to this food truck since before I ever started yelping. This is one of my top food trucks of all time and some of the best pizza I've ever had. Always glad to see you come around the north Tampa area into Wesley Chapel. Was able to have the truck after a year or 2 since moving up into Wesley Chapel and it was as good as I remember. Everything about the pizza is sublime, from the cheesey pull from slice to Slice down to the slight char on the magnificent crust. As I enjoy pizza in any incarnation, I was excited to see @engine53pizza would be at Six Ten Brewing's 2nd Anniversary yesterday. And even though we'd already ordered from the other food truck, we had to try Engine 53 also. The side of their truck is see-through, so piles of wood were visible at one end, along with the oven and the prep area - very cool to watch. We chose a pepperoni pie, and we were not disappointed! Piping hot, with fresh, gooey mozzarella - this was a beautiful pizza! I love the crisp, toastiness of the dough... Not thick nor doughy (& not soggy), but NOT a thin cracker, either. The pepperoni had a great flavor, but not overpowering, and the sauce was also just as perfectly unassuming. Overall, this was an awesome pizza & I will definitely look for them at other events around Tampa Bay. read more

The food truck was in Riverview, FL on 2/10/2023. I stood at the truck for several minutes waiting to order. The lady working the truck made eye contact several times and never even acknowledged I was standing there. I left as I would not spend a dime with a business where the staff lack the decency to have common courtesy. I hired this food truck for a private event and they did not disappoint! The pizza is so fresh and amazing! I was floored that I could watch them flip the dough right there in the truck and cook up my pizza with the freshest ingredients right in front on my eyes. No really, the side of the food truck is glass and you can watch it all happen. Talk about transparency! The ingredients were amazing! Fresh mozzarella and basil and garlic olive oil. We ordered two pizzas from Engine 53 when they were at 3 Daughters. It was unfortunately our only option at the brewery and we were pretty hungry. We saw the pizzas and they didn't look promising, but we went for it anyhow. Our pizza took awhile. I was sitting right in front of the truck waiting on our name to be called. If it was called, it was really quietly. I was listening and waiting for it. Then, we had a person come up from the truck and say, "Oh sorry, we've been calling your name for 10 minutes now. It's probably cold. Let us know if you want us to reheat it or something." What? I had been sitting right in front of the truck the entire time. We were hungry, so we ate our cold pizza anyhow. We had the meatball and the margherita pizza. They were both bland. The crust was thin and not really our thing. I expected more flavor from the sweet looking oven. We hoped the toppings would at least be tasty. Nope. A little seasoning would have gone a long way. My brother actually thought the meatballs were bland sausage. We had three people and two small pizzas and we threw quite a bit out even though we were still hungry. We ate again an hour or so later at home. We will not be ordering from Engine 53 again and I recommend you skip it to if you have other options. read more

Mmm Mmm this pizza is delicious! My hubby and I were at Pair O Dice and everyone was ordering pizza. The sight and smells of the pizzas others were ordering looked delicious. We started off with the Calzone and had added bacon to it. All of the ingredients were fresh and no additives which made it taste delicious! We stayed for awhile and decided to split the Meatlovers pizza and added ricotta cheese. This was amazing. Service was excellent and the owner was beyond nice. Love this food truck! read more

This truck has a great concept,fire truck converted with pizza ovens. But, that is where it ends. I will give it one star just for the concept and the fact that pizza looks fabulous. The crust was very thin and tasteless. The sauce was very watery and tasteless. The mozzarella had no flavor. The meatballs tasted like they were store bought and again no flavor. We had Engine 53 do my wife's surprise birthday event last night and they were fantastic! We had 40 guests and every person was very complimentary of the awesome pizzas. This is a Tampa area food truck. We tried this at the Plant City rally, and while the pizza was good, the wait was insane. It took almost an hour to get a pizza. It was not worth the wait and I think if you are going to have an hour wait, you need to let people know this before they pay. read more

These guys were in my neck of the woods last week and gave them a try. Went with the margarita. I have to agree with some of the criticism others have posted, but there is also some good things. Overall, I found the pie to be a bit bland. The sauce could use a pinch of salt as well as the dough. Both were kind of flavorless. So a little doctoring is needed to my taste. The basil was fresh and gave that good herb taste that is needed for a margarita pizza. I loved how the crust bubbled and got just the right amount of char. But wasn't crazy about how it was very pale on the underside. Wondering if the hearth of the oven wasn't to the right temperature yet. But one of the things you live with on a food truck with a wood fired oven. Probably needs a bit more to warm up. Service was good and I got my pie pretty quick. But strongly suggest adding things to drink besides soda. Especially with summer coming, water and or Tea or lemonade would be much appreciated. read more

First of all, the pizza took forever. I know they were busy but when I ordered the pizza to go, I was never told it would take that long. I like that they stretch their own dough but since I had to wait for an extremely long time, I noticed them opening a can of sauce that they use on the pizzas. When I finally got my pizza, my first observation was that all of the toppings were centered focused and not spread out evenly, which left an inch of only sauce before getting to the crust. The edge of the crust did taste great and I could taste hints of smokiness from the wood fire oven. It was a little doughy (undercooked) in the center since everything was piled there. I got the meatball pizza and the sliced meatballs also tasted good with the onions. Overall, I thought the pizza was good. I do think that with some tweaks (evenly spread out the toppings and making their own sauce) they can make this pizza great. read more
