They were very easy to get ahold of, and the receptionist genuinely sounded caring and explained the processes and expected costs of the procedure from the first call. I went to the Fayetteville location, and the staff was on time (doesn't always happen with medical offices) and got me right in the chair. I was feeling a bit nervous, and said so, and Dr. Maloff and his dental assistant were understanding of that. They offered me laughing gas if I needed it (and told me the cost! Which I liked!) but I ended up going without after talking with them. They explained their process - instruments/sharps would pass over me on the right so I should signal with my left hand hand, and they told me most everything that would be going in and on my mouth and what they would do. I asked them to talk a bit since that puts me more at ease, and they did, to the point that I was laughing at their conversations without laughing gas during a root canal! (It is a little weird to cackle with your mouth full of stuff though.) I didn't feel any pain during the process. After I was done I was given good instructions regarding the care of my tooth, and encouraged to contact them if I had any issues. There was a little tenderness in my cheek for a few days after but it was nothing compared to how the tooth felt beforehand. I really liked that the doctor, his assistant, and all of the staff, had a very easy rapport, and clear trust, where you could tell they had been together for some time. Regardless of which of their four locations they're working at, (Liverpool, Fayetteville, Auburn, and Watertown) the doctor and their specific assistant work together. I think the communication between the staff and their patients is a strength of Modern Endodontic Specialists, and while I was nervous going in I left feeling very relaxed, and informed. We were then treated as if we were the problem! I was told to keep my voice down when after hearing this man completely verbally accost my mother i said "what the fuck is wrong with this guy! He's an asshole!" We were then escorted to the managers office, where i definitely asked her "would u let a doctor speak to your mother that way?" And her response was "please stop yelling at me or i will call the cops." Are u serious?? Then tried to blame me bc my mother did not understand the process of getting dentures! I've done so much digging and research on this and am trying to make this as public as possible!! You do not need the Arestin, your insurance will not pay for it because it's not necessary and considers the antimicrobial agent experimental and investigative and not a necessity. Yet Aspen dental will tell you that they will not provide any services to you until you pay for it. Even a cleaning they will refuse to do until you pay them. They will try to tell you if you can't afford it out of pocket. You can get a credit card through them and like I said they will always keep it just under $1,000 to try to make people think they have to get that and it's only $1,000 on a credit card. Please just be careful this is a scam. They're in this industry not for medical care but so they can make bonuses and they can make profit off of naive patients. Very odd and unprofessional - it seemed like they were trying to multitask or looking at information from two different sheets... It made enough sense to confirm it was me, but had SO MANY errors. Either way once that was resolved she said I would get a check for reimbursement withing a week. Another Week goes by and nothing so I call back AGAIN! And this time I find out that they cannot submit the claim because its through the state (I don't know how they missed that on my initial visit, but they did.) SO I had to call insurance and submit the claim on my own just to find out that Gorges dental was "out of network" - so now Im stuck paying "out of pocket". It doesn't even have that awful dentist office smell! I was pleased with the way Dr. Whipple explained my dental issues and what the appropriate treatment would be. Be aware that they don't perform root canals in office, but refer you to an endodontist, which can be good or bad. For me, it's inconvenient to have to go to another office (hence the four star rating), but there's certainly nothing wrong with having a specialist do the procedure. I plan to have my routine care at Seven Valley Dental from now on.

The tried to explain to me how it was all my fault that I had misheard what I was originally told. I was also told that I would receive a follow-up call from the office manager to discuss further, but I have heard nothing after multiple calls to their office. Talk about bait and switch. Swindlers. Take your business elsewhere. There's something rotten below that enamel.
