I had my garage painted, and one of the walls turned out very poorly (see picture 1). When the Encore painting team came out to fix the job, they painted the wall the wrong color (picture 2). Throughout this journey, Encore has cancelled and rescheduled on me more than 5 times. I would encourage you not to use this company. If you do, be sure not to pay Chris until you have thoroughly examined the work. This is because there is no urgency to correct any mistakes that they make. I hired Encore Painting to paint my garage in February 2025. It is now March 2026, and they still have not fixed the job. My garage is still the wrong color. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review. My experience has been everything but pleasant. When the workers arrived and stayed for almost 3 days they didn't complete in that time frame. On the 3rd day they ran out of my house and said they had another job and said they would be back later to finish touch ups. Well they never contacted me or came back on the 3rd day. It took days for them to come back. I tried to be patient with the process hoping everything would look much better on my kitchen cabinets as there was so many issues. The touch ups they did made everything look worse. So many drip marks so many uneven colors. Chris was informed but honestly he gave me so many excuses. He said they would be back to fix everything on a Friday morning. Well no contact and nobody showed. I cant work my life around their mess ups. I had to stall my kitchen remodel long enough and cleared the indoor air of the VOCs too many times to keep this going. So BEWARE! Chris will take your money and give you the run around! read more

Painters and contractors in general are either really great or really terrible. They are like Whitesnake songs. Some are "Is This Love" and others are all the other stuff not featuring Tawny Kitaen doing cartwheels on Jags. I'm happy to report these guys are on top of it. Kurt came out and gave us a quote for three rooms (bedroom, living area and office) that was extremely fair. Living room was to be done in a very light grey. Others were to be done in a bright white. Dutch white was done upstairs. Two man crew showed up promptly the very next day and moved furniture and taped off and prepped and painted. Did an amazing job. Only problem was that Dutch white is lavender. After reading a bunch of reviews it's a flaw on the manufacturer behr. Called the owner and he sent the two guys back out and they painted it again in a bright white for no additional cost and did it right. Think "Here I Go Again". Loved the promptness and honesty and the cleanup. Was a great experience. Will use them again for bathroom renovation and upstairs painting. read more

I recently bought a home in McKinney, TX so I could relocate. The home was painful to look at. Popcorn ceilings throughout and these dark wood cabinets in the kitchen. Made an appointment with Encore and they came out and gave me an estimate. Everyone was on time, which was really appreciated with everything else I was dealing with for the move. They came in, prepped, worked, and cleaned. They did amazing work! No more ugly cabinets! (I was boring and picked white) More importantly, no more of that ugly popcorn, it's like it was never there! They did a walkthrough with me afterward but everything looked great. It was so nice to have one thing taken off my plate and handled. read more

I used Encore to paint my stained kitchen cabinets because they had painted the outside of my home and done a good job. This was an entirely different experience and outcome, disastrous from start to finish. I was told that they would cover everything well and put up a barrier between the kitchen and living area. They got primer on my brand new Bosch SS fridge. I could not see what they were doing because of the barrier. They did not prep properly because the finish is gritty and uneven in places. Didn't move fridge so one side of cabinet unpainted. Came back to touch up but those places had no prep and are only painted over stain and still missed some places. Didn't fix the gritty and uneven places. Didn't follow the procedure for this job as listed on their own website. I was told I didn't have to empty my cabinets because I didn't want inside painted and that they would cover the opening, which they did not do. My dishes were covered with sanding grit. Painters did not respect my home. They brought radio in and played loud music; they put something on my new glass top washer that stained it but I finally got it off; threw food etc. in my recycle can; left trash in garage and on driveway; paint spots on garage floor; and used my paper products out of a cabinet in garage without asking. I had three estimates and I paid them what others were asking but I did not get my money's worth by any means. I will have to have this redone if they don't fix it. I had called the owner the first day because I was worried and he said they do this job once a week and not to worry. He was informed and still did nothing to correct it. When I sent my list of complaints after they finished (and I didn't pay), there was no apology. I felt that they didn't care about the job, only about getting the money and hurrying off. read more

Total disaster for my interior work. Watch out there paperwork says they DO NOT do cleanup and they mean it. My place was left a mess and when I asked them to come clean up they said sorry we don't do that look at the paperwork. Are you kidding me! So they left a huge mess and guess what... you get to clean it up. A gift that I received a month later was a $400 plumbing bill to clean out my pipes because they had washed out their mud buckets in my bathtub. That stuff setup in my pipes and plumbing backed up. The owner does not understand what customer service is so don't expect to get any from him and any you might get from others will be quickly off set by the owner because everything comes back to him. This list goes on but my fingers are tired IM me if you want more. read more

Wood paneling turned out well. The brand new cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms were a disaster. I have about 35 photos of the unprofessional work. The owner was requested to come to check out the work when the issues started and initially said he would but then later gave some excuse about how he didn't do any of the painting so it was pointless for him to come. After 3 attempts to fix the unprofessional work I decided to part ways and hire another company to correctly finish the job. They also got paint on my carpet and bathroom fixtures because they did not prep the areas to protect them. In case you were wondering, no we didn't ask for crinkle paint on the blue bathroom vanities, nor did we ask for multiple shades of gray on the kitchen cabinets, and per the owner there are 4 coats on the kitchen despite the primer showing through on the drawers and wood on the wine holder. Chris and his team were recommended to us by our realtor. We couldn't be happier! We added work to our order the day before the job was meant to start and Chris didn't flinch a bit. This is one of the worse company out there! Call them for in home quotes for painting. First time they call back hr before appoiment time to reschedule. Second time they did not even call till hr and half after appoiment time and try to reschedule again, no sorry , no any apology. Stay away from this company. read more

If I could add a review with zero stars I would. Please review previous complaints here on Yelp about this company before you proceed. Long story short the work was very amateurish. We dealt with every negative thing others are here complaining about. The work started a day late because of a "scheduling conflict" . The owner Chis called the day the work was supposed to start so that he could reschedule for a different day. This caused a major issue with other contractors as we had a remodel going on and depended on Encore to deliver in a timely manner as agreed. There are other people on Yelp complaining about the same experience. This seems to be the norm for Encore. There are other people complaining here who had the same issue with this company. Encore showed no concern for our high end marble and bathroom hardware. They placed tools on it without using drop cloths or any other protection. They left paint on my Restoration Hardware lighting. The did not paint the door trims as I requested and paid for. They dripped paint on my marble floors. They stepped in my brand new bathtub with shoes and no protection to keep it from getting dirty. The lines where the trim and wall paint meet were crooked and paint was spilling over the lines causing the trim to look terrible. There were drips of paint all over the base boards and marble floors. After contacting the owner Chris about the shoddiness of the work he offered to send a person out to complete the touch up work and clean the areas they soiled. When the foreman Roy came to complete the repairs and cleanup he did not paint the door trims and window trim as he should have. The foreman Roy said that the work was too "hard" to complete. I then called Chris to explain that Roy did not complete the repairs as requested. Chris became frustrated and threatened to sue me in court.. I asked Chris to come out to see the issues we are having with the work and he refused. Others are here on Yelp who experienced this very thing. I was open to going to court but my wife was ready to be done with this terrible company. Chris ended up discounting the job a few hundred dollars . Here's some of the text exchange from Chris. Needless to say he is less than professional and his grammar is in need of attention: "I will not deposit your discounted check and just get my lawyer to sue you for non payment in full and decimation of character." -Chris , Owner of Encore I think he meant defamation of character but hey... Here's some of the text exchange from when he cancelled on us last minute: "Hi Courtney, I just got a call from my crew that is working on your job and they have to go back to finish a job they starred and can not make it today. I apologise for the late news but I just got it Now. We can be there in the morning. Please let me know what you want to do. I forgot to add that the workers invited their friends to my house to show them the work they were doing . Those who were completing the work did not speak English at all. When I questioned why there were additional people at my home the workers who didn't speak English were not able to answer me. I found this a huge safety concern and I still dont feel comfortable in my home considering how Chris handled everything. Chris I met with us in a timely manner after we called for appointment. The price was agreed upon and we got additional 10% off due to having to wait 3-4 weeks for the job to start. They were busy. Painters worked 5-6 days 9-6 daily, and painted entire interior of home. Also removed popcorn ceiling. Couldn't get a towel rack off wall, and they removed for me. All walls, ceilings, trim and doors we painted. Work was completed as promised. Roy and his team were friendly, punctual and did a quality job! I had to request 2 returns to complete some missed areas and there were no hassles. I would highly recommend them for residential or business painting needs. However, they never showed up to appointment at their specified time, never called to reschedule, and never returned our calls. This Company was great. We hired them to remove wallpaper in our kitchen that we put up ourselves. It was really glued on there. The crew showed up right on time and got right to work. It took them 3 hours to do what it would have taken us 2 days to get done. They got everything off and retextured where it needed it, and cleaned up a really big mess extremely well.
