I didn't think I needed to explain that. Upon sitting down with the manicurist I repeated that I just wanted the basic. She paints one or two of my nails and said "gel right?" I said no thank you I can't have this color at my job. She also had a surprised look but continued on with the service. I go to pay and the total is almost $30!! I didn't want to raise any issue at the register so I just paid and grabbed a service menu on my way out. Turns out she gave me the "spa" manicure which is almost double the cost of the basic. The spa includes extra moisturizer and hand massage. It was very nice, but I wasn't expecting to spend that much. What I'm most unhappy about is when I attempted to remove the polish before work, it was VERY difficult to get off. So she went ahead and gave me the gel polish anyway after I told two separate employees I couldn't have it. I'm overall happy with the job that was done, but there are so many nail salons even within walking distance of where I live I will not be going back because they didn't listen to what I wanted and charged me for a product and service I didn't ask for.
