Very disappointed in the rental experience of Encore. Unfortunately many things went wrong. Read your contracts! Delivery and Setup was this. They were delivered or more like dumped on my patio. Set up consisted of them putting legs on the tables. I didn't want them to "arrange" the tables and chairs because we had 2 events that I was prepared for and so leaving them in place would have been fine so my crew could move them to the next event. They left all the covers and moving blankets, tables upside down (heavy and needed 4 people to flip), chairs stacked so high my 5'3 short self had to lay down the stack and remove all the covers. Then they left. No nothing, just left everything as you see. How about going over the check list to make sure I got everything? When I called they asked to see pictures, which were these, the email I received was pretty curt. I didn't pay for set up... but I did. Oh well that's putting on the legs. Again didn't expect to have the arranging done but leaving tables upside down and stacked was not cool. I tossed all the moving blankets and chair covers in my barn. The wedding was flawless except for this for which I'm grateful. I got concerned about pick up because it was Tuesday after the event and Monday had forecast of rain, which it did. I left the blankets in the barn but boy I thought about covering the tables with them thinking I would be charged for rain damage but also thought how wet those blankets would be. Every other rental came on Sunday or Monday for pick up and this was the last to be picked up. This is the only game in town for high end rentals so they can do what they want. I know it was the end of event season and the tables and chairs showed the wear and tear. 8 tables, benches and chairs for 80, dinner and desert dishes for 80 and 1 coffee pot, 4 barrel tables cost almost $5000. You need to make an appointment, walk ins are definitely not welcome. I didn't see that so that was my fault and made an appointment, I also did one more to double check the seating because I had both benches and chairs. It was wasting their time because they couldn't upsell linens etc.. In the end the pre wedding and wedding went perfectly except for this. I definitely would think twice before using Encore. read more

Although we had a great onsite visit and consultation, our experience working with Encore post-showroom visit has been anything but great. Turnaround times are slow, communication has been unclear, many items are out-of-stock (even several months before our wedding), price points are high, their delivery windows are restrictive, and customer service is anything but proactive. For example, when trying to add even more items to our order - they tell us "sorry, the truck is full" - despite already being assessed with multiple "additional truck" fees. [As context, this is for a mid-sized wedding, ~100 guests.] We'd started working with Encore at the recommendation of our wedding planner, but would highly recommend anyone planning a Sonoma wedding to check out other available options first. read more

We tried to have Encore help us with a tent, tables, and chairs for an event we are having in October. I took over the planning, along with another coworker and we decided to revisit the estimate, which we had paid a deposit on. We looked for other potential vendors, who came to measure the section that the tent would be in, and came to realize: 1. Encore had not measured or offer to measure the area to ensure that what they had quoted us would fit in this space. 2. They quoted us a tent that would not fit within the space where the tent needed to be placed. We called to let them know, and they told us that they would have one of their tech's come out to measure the following Tuesday, just to ensure they get the correct dimensions, and they would reconcile the original estimate. Well, Tuesday comes along and nothing, my co-worker calls them, and it turns out that the tech would not be able to come to our facilities and measure for at least a couple of weeks. They never informed us that they would not be able to make it on Tuesday or that the earliest availability to measure the area was weeks out. Their lack of communication, transparency, and overall lack of common sense is ultimately what led to us making the decision to go elsewhere. read more

We are especially grateful to Dayna I, who, when a blip did occur (involving a previous renter damaging the dance floor we had reserved just before our event), worked tirelessly to keep us updated on the process with transparent communication, searched far and wide to get us the dance floor we were looking for, and went above and beyond in receiving our phone calls and answering all of our questions, all to make sure our reservation was fulfilled in time for our event. The crew who installed our dance floor and dropped off our linens were also very professional and kind, and really set the tone for our positive experience, not just with Encore but throughout our entire event. I would rate -0- stars if available. 3 of us visited the Windsor showroom. We rented lanterns & votives. Tried to rent napkins and table runners. Everything we selected had been withdrawn, yet the samples were still on display. Suzy Montes, our rental specialist, stated clearly that candles would be provided with the glassware. We specifically asked because we were finding them difficult to purchase. Day of our Mother's 90th birthday I picked up the glassware from Encore Events Rental storeroom in Windsor. Drove to restaurant for set-up. Venue only allowed 1 hour before the dinner for decorating. This is pretty normal for most venues. The candles were not included in the boxes with glassware. Without candles the lanterns were useless. The WORSE part is Suzy Montes shifted the blame to our excellent florist. And the absolute WORST was neither the sales manager, Kayla Gettys nor the president of Encore, Marjorie Aleshire would return a phone call. Check out the web site for Encore Rentals; there are no personal reviews. That might be a clue. I have planned dozens of special events and have never experienced such a total disregard for customers. However, they were happy to take my money and keep it. I hosted a party for 125 people. This was the second time I used encore for my rental needs, and once again they did not disappoint. They are very friendly and truly cared about the event I was hosting. All of their products were clean and color coordinated just as I asked. After I returned all of their products, I discovered that I had accidentally given them some of my caterers equipment as well. They set it aside and notified me of the mistake. They were super helpful when it came to postponing (twice) and when I finally ended up having to cancel due to our venue shutting down, they processed my refund without any hassle. This is a retro post from my experience with Encore Event Rentals last year April 2014 for my wedding. The event was held at a hotel which provided most of what we needed but I wanted to add a little extra color to the formal settings and that is where Kayla Gettys at Encore Events came in. She expertly guided me towards a gorgeous raw silk material to add centerpiece color, (Dupioni silk I think). The soft rose colored fabric popped with my floral arrangements and also bridesmaid dresses (which Kayla knew since she did a comprehensive assessment of my wedding colors and theme prior). It was the perfect addition. The entire rental process was a breeze, and I never felt pressured by Kayla or anyone else at Encore to purchase or rent more than I wanted. Everyone was sweet, encouraging and intuitive to client needs/desires and event themes. i'll be getting married next June in Geyserville at a local residence, which means i have to bring in all of our own rentals!! so I knew i needed a rental company nearby with a one stop shop for all of our rental needs. we need to bring in EVERYTHING: tables chairs linens glassware flatware & plateware. walked in this past Saturday and checked out their small showroom. Terri greeted us shortly after and helped answer any questions we had. She was a great source of information, even though we had their price guide in hand. Local delivery/pick-up is only $60. Drop off rentals Thurs/Fri, pickup Monday...how cool is that?! Plus they don't charge sales tax, cha-ching!! They also have a deal where if you go to a local bridal show & they have a booth there, you'll get a 10% discount...that tid bit sold me right there. i spend $8 to get 10% off what's looking like a $1700 bill. that is HUGE!! also, in terms of payment, they're pretty flexible on the payment options, but the bill has to be settled 1 week prior to delivery date FYI. whether that means one lump sum or you pay off in increments, they'll do it. great place, i highly recommend checking out encore event rentals! read more

We rented 3 heat lamps from this company over New Years, and they not only were able to have them ready for us to pick up after hours (to help us avoid a hefty delivery charge...our event location was over an hour away), but were super easy to work with. I had them reserved and paid for in just a few minutes, and the woman I talked to (Kristen) was incredibly kind. After our event, I called them to let them know that two of the gas tanks had been given to us empty by accident, and they offered us a $25 credit to our next rental, and a sincere apology. My fiancee called this business for over 5 weeks, including two emails and five phone calls, in order to reserve lighting for our wedding rehearsal dinner. The follow-up from the business was non-existent. Customer service was utterly lacking, as we had to chase them down continually. When Greg finally got back to my fiancee, he told her that the date she had requested was already booked!? I would think twice about counting on this business for your important event. Renee was patient, attentive, detailed, and efficient every single time I emailed or spoke with her (which was a lot!). When I first met her last November, she walked me through all the options and helped me create a list of what I would need for my wedding. As my wedding plans took shape, I began emailing her with changes and questions. She responded promptly to every single email, always attaching the updated order. As a Catering and Special Events Director for a high-end hotel in Healdsburg, I find myself needing rentals on a frequent basis. The ability to rent quality and high-end items that match the hotel's vision is important, and I trust Encore Events Rentals to fulfill that need. At this property alone I've rented from half a dozen rental companies, over the last few years, and have seen Encore Events increase and improve their stock tremendously - practically negating my need to look elsewhere. The office staff, Shelly and Terri, are always quick to respond, friendly, and helpful with my (often) last minute requests. Greg is more than an asset - coming to my rescue more than once, and even stopping by the property (without having to be asked) to check on things and help troubleshoot what may be needed. The design department is ran by Celeste who is a "Rock Star" to every detail of your event. Celeste brings years of design work which is quite evident in all the events we have planned together over the past years.
