We're big Disney parks fans so we (the grownups) expected this to be mostly a diversion for our 5yo. Our whole group was pleasantly surprised! It was myself, my husband, my mother, my adult sister and my daughter. We all enjoyed the Snow White show and Irish band. Loved watching the 5yo do the kiddie rides and even enjoyed the big rides with her. Bring an extra change of clothes for the log ride! The Storybook trail and animatronics throughout the park are charming, even if they don't have the Disney polish. We brought our own snacks which worked out really well for us. We didn't buy any food there so I can't speak to the quality. I could see this park being tricky for people with mobility concerns. The paths are wide and paved, but almost all of them are on some kind of incline. The weather couldn't have been nicer though and even on a warmer day than we got, I think the trees would do a great job of keeping things on the cooler side. It's a great family outing for those with little ones, probably those ages 3-8 would have the best time. The worst part is the ride costs. I think it was worth the price of entry, but I hope they bring back the unlimited ride bands I've heard about. For three of us to ride a big ride one time was $15. I appreciate the operating costs, but I hope there's some way to make the rides more cost effective in the future. read more

This spot has been around since I was a wee lad, not that it was THAT long ago but still, it has been around a while. Is it dated, sure but is it fun - YES! Fairy tale themes abound with the various attractions at the Forest and no doubt the entire family will find something to enjoy. It would wager that the perception structures were pretty cutting edge when they were initially built and still hold up to this day. Walking into a "house" and how it is built and painted tricks you into thinking it is tilted or shrinking, how fun. If you have kids, grand kids, ANY kids that would enjoy a good old fashioned theme park with lots to play and see and some fun rides, then GO. I LOVE fairy tales, and there is a park in Holland we used to go to every couple of years when we visited family called de Efteling (https://www.efteling.com/en) and this brought me back SO much nostalgia and so many good feels and memories of my own childhood fun. Let me start by saying that we took 9 kids there for my daughter's 5th birthday. I wanted her to have a great day and a super fun time. One of the main reasons I chose it, aside from it being perfect for a 5 year old, was because for Birthdays, you can BRING your own cake or dessert AND your own food. They welcome you to do so and to picnic. AND for a birthday, they store (chill in their restaurant fridge) your food for the party. That blew me away. (I grew up on Disney and huge theme parks in FL once I was about 10 and no one does that for you.) They also refund the unused ride tickets for the day. I went HUH? What did you say? If we don't use them all you buy them back?! WOW. Just so good. Such good customer satisfaction they aim for. Now a couple of other people have mentioned the spooky factor...yeah its creepy because the Grimm fairy tales are dark. The kids weren't scared but the animatronic Pinocchio, Hansel and Gretel and a few others had the adults laughing. This place is a treasure. An old fashioned theme park where kids can use their imagination and have fun and still get to ride on some fun rides. We spent the entire day there and had a wonderful time. The staff and princesses were so great to the kids and we couldn't have had a better day. The park is clean, food to purchase is reasonably priced, just all in all it is a fabulous family place. I just, finally, experienced this place for the first time with a group of my friends who grew up going here. If you are trying desperately to find Disneyland or some giant theme park this is not your place. This park was hand made by a very talented man who still wanders around the park doing things to this day. Seriously, watch the movie in the large gift shop in the park to really appreciate this park's existence. This is a family owned and run business, not some giant corporate conglomerate and kids adore the place. As an adult I loved having a wonderful stroll through the woods (because you are seriously walking through an actual forest!) and seeing all this cool artwork. The one downside to being in the woods is bugs don't cooperate and friends were swarmed by fireants walking through the exit ramp of the witch in the story loop. That was a bit crazy! There were employees by the exit and at first were just sort of staring at the ants holding a can of bug spray. One of our friends we needed to strip down in the bathroom because her skirt and shirt were so covered in ants biting her. So, be cautious!! The rest of out visit was a blast. The tickets for rides are very reasonable and they even let you get a refund if you do not use your tickets up that day. I highly recommend spending a ticket for the panning for treasure to get a great little souvenir. We also loved the Challenge of Mondor and Log Ride. Other friends went on the roller coaster while we did the shoot out challenge and loved it. The kiddy ride section is adorable and this really is a great place to take your little ones - its such a great and cost effective family place to spend an afternoon. read more

The $5 per ticket x multiple tickets per ride pricing makes this park a no-go for us. The park is heavy on theme, and light on rides. For older kids, the only real fun to be had will be the larger rides, and those cost an average of $10 each. This is in addition to your price of admission. I wouldn't go again unless they bring back the unlimited ride bracelets. Without them, the park simply isn't worth the price of the ticket(s). read more

This beautiful theme park was just what I needed to bring a bit of magic to my weekend. A dear friend of mine visited me from Southern California. Over the years we've spent a lot of time at various theme parks across the US together. The Enchanted Forest delighted the both of us with its clean, organized and well themed atmosphere. The price of food and snacks didn't make us cringe and was quite tasty for the value. Omg adorable and wacky. We were already in Salem, so it was very convenient to visit this old school theme park. The musicians who performed several times a day were very entertaining and made it seem like the ticket price was more worth it. I didn't like the acting in the stage play. I feel like they could improve upon the stage acts. Hire a local playwright or something. I would recommend reading some fairy tales to your kid before you visit so they can recognize some of the features. Little Red Riding Hood, Old Woman Who Live in a Shoe, etc. Ride the slide thing. We didn't ride the log ride. I got a bunch of post cards from the gift shop to send out. Post cards are harder and harder to find these days at theme parks, so I made sure to keep one for myself. The gift shops are kinda cute. Wish they had different merchandise that was specific to the fairy tales they feature or had more locally made goods. Since I don't live in Oregon, I really did feel like I was in an Enchanted Forest because there was so much beautiful green moss everywhere. Yes, the Enchanted Forest is an older theme park and much of the props here show their age but on the up side of the coin this fantasy theme park is still a lot of fun. Some of the fun comes from the cheerful cheesiness that goes with and other times the themes and rides are just fun without having to apply much thought to it. A number of the rides require tickets to ride aside from the general admission or included in with the admission depending on how much you buy at the entrance. After purchasing your tickets you stroll along a path and encounter many renditions of fairy tales in terms of statuary and props. There are a few animatronic features as you stroll your way up the hill that I found very entertaining but I love animatronics so... Once you get to the hill is where the theme park rides are and you encounter Wild West type theme sector and a Medieval Village sector. I took my time and just strolled around the gift shops and looked at the rides to decide what I would use my tickets on. There are quite a few kiddie rides over where the bumper cars are so that wasn't for me I decided aside from the bumper cars. Lol There is a fun Haunted House you can tour through which I was impressed with and enjoyed! There was one other ride I took which was a shooter fantasy ride in the Medieval Village and that was fun too. There are other rides as well like a log ride and a rollercoaster as well. Another feature I liked that didn't need extra tickets were the dancing water fountains. Again, silly but still a lot of fun. I really enjoyed myself going to the Enchanted Forest and would go back again but would probably wait to bring friends who come to visit to go there and see it. read more

And we ESPECIALLY love that their ice cream shop was willing (twice now) to get a new clean scooper and new ice cream container for my daughter's allergy. My husband and I and our three year old grandson spent four hours on a Friday and felt it was a great day. Reasonably priced, great variety, preschool appropriate, and not all that crowded. We were lucky enough that the weather was sunny but not too hot, although the site is very shady and should be fairly comfortable even on hot days. Food selections were just right for young kids, tasty, and a value--Not over priced. Enjoyed the water show at the pizza place, too. It was nice that the park was divided in different areas--"Storybook Land ", "Western Town", etc. There is variety in the attractions--an area for very young children, but also more daring rides like the bobsled and log flume attraction. Enchanted Forest is located on the side of a mountain/hill, so be forewarned that it can be steep in areas. Overall we would highly recommend it for younger kids and will definitely return. read more

I'm not a native Oregonian, so I'd never been to the Enchanted Forest, so I decided it was time to check it out. I found it quite charming! I definitely recommend it to anyone with small children to bring along. All the rides are geared towards them, but still fun for the adult riding with. I especially loved the bobsled ride. It's a mini rollercoaster that you basically lie halfway down in and it was pretty comfy! Riders sit in between the legs of the person in back. The log ride was also great and you will get soaked! They let us borrow ponchos though, which was very appreciated. We were able to do everything in about 4.5 hours, but if you wanted to re-ride anything it's probably worth the ride bracelet. There are more than rides though, there are several shows, a "Old Western town," British village, and Storybook Lane to check out. There is also a haunted house, think kid scary not grown up scary. I found the staff to be very patient and kind. I also found the food to be good and prices to be decent, so that's always a win. read more

It's clean, well maintained, the staff are helpful and professional, and the nostalgia is 100%. The negative reviews on here are humorous... many are about the lack of rides. Do people not read up on what attractions are there prior to going? A simple google search would do some of you well. This place has been around since 1971 so it's old. It's also family owned so don't expect Disneyland quality and cleanliness. It's a little fun, weird theme park in the hills in a podunk Oregon town.. you should know what to expect. A lot of the animatronics and window displays are old, some audio doesn't work, some things don't move anymore, etc. So what? It's a piece of history and it's still fun. People complaining about how children wouldn't recognize the displays... these aren't the cartoon Disney version. These are the historic, original story book depictions. I'm a 25 year old women and I had a blast. I haven't been here since I was 6-7 and it was as precious as I remember. My 32 year old bf and I went on a Sunday and it was busy but not bad. 10 minute wait for the big rides, which are a fun. Also the haunted house is a BLAST. I am not easily scared but both myself and my bf screamed many times, he even fell down at one point- HILARIOUS! It's a great PNW staple and it's a great time. This place rules! Look, it's pretty small and very handmade, and my expectations were for a cute couple hours of novelty for the family, but I was honestly delighted from the moment we entered, and despite the 100 degree heat, we had a fantastic, full day of fun. The food is pretty good and very reasonably priced, the rides are fun and the lines were not terribly long, but truly, just exploring the place was worth the price of entry. It's quite impressive what this family has done to bring the enchanted forest to life, and I am so glad they have made it through the last couple years, with COVID and ice storms and family tragedy. Some people told me this place was for kids and I won't like it. Nonsense! Yes it's for kids...and big kids that never really experienced the fun parts of childhood. Growing up I read a lot of fairytales, and to walk through a storybook town for me is the ultimate experience. I can't even put into words how at home I felt. I just wanted to crawl inside one of the cute little homes and make a life for me there haha. Enchanted forest offers so much from the fairytale setting, to music and rides. The best place to check out their offerings is on their website, because we did miss some stuff. I especially liked that there was a room with a video of the creator sharing his amazing story. He took a risk doing something no one else did. Apparently he hangs out there sometimes, how cool would it be to meet this brilliant creative man like another reviewer did! We missed out on the haunted house because I was too chicken. After a long wait in line, I got off the bobsled roller coaster because I felt claustrophobic. The log ride was not a closed off ride like the bobsled, it was open on top. But the ride itself was closed. Still, I would have been a chicken there too most likely anyway, see a pattern? So I can't comment on those. But we did the mondor and bumper cars, though they were in fact for little kiddos, so I'd skip them next time. The slanted house was crazy, you will get temporary vestibular problems. And the maze house was pretty trippy too. I definitely recommend coming to even just walk around inside a fairytale book, that was the best part ! I think the pics speak for themselves of this magical place :) I'm sorry their blurry. It's not too expensive to get in, but ride tickets are kind of spendy especially if you have kids. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. I've come here three or four times every year, but it never gets old. This place is great for smaller kids to teenagers and I've seen adult on dates here too! There is something for everyone. There are storybook figures scattered throughout the premises. It has an old fashioned feel to it but in a good way. Everything is well taken care of, no paint chipping off. Yes, there is a funky old plaster smell but I don't think there's anything you can do about that. I also like there are rides, this time we did the water log ride and it was so much fun! I do recommend having a parent sit with the kids and not kid together and parents together. I also really appreciate that they allow you to bring your own food and drinks. As more people have food allergies and dietary restrictions, I think this is a great option. There are lots of tables you can sit with your family and have your lunch. There are rides too, roller coasters, bumper cars, etc. It's probably better to buy a bracelet if you're going to go on a lot of the rides but i think the coasters are excluded in the prices of the bracelets. I also really appreciate that they'll refund your money back for all the tickets you didn't use at the end of your visit. What a score. If you have kids, come to this place! read more

Personally, I prefer this park over Disneyland! The history behind this family is so heartwarming, and the DIY aesthetic is awesome. It's situated in picturesque Oregon woods, and the rides are fun! There is something for everyone, & you get a free pin on your birthday! Friendly squirrels too! My son really enjoyed the kiddie bumper boats and carousel. I loved the haunted house and thought it was very well done, especially considering it only cost $3 to enter.
