One of my favorite places in Haga! It's a vegetarian deli with Kurdish and Turkish foods. The owner is super friendly and is happy to put together anything you can dream up out of any of the items they have there. Most of the food is server cold, from soups to the food, and it's all home made right there. They have quite a few options, from doma's and lentil balls to their own creations of spelt with yogurt and spices and their own kind of hummus. It's the perfect place if you're looking for a healthy meal or a small snack. In additional to their own foods, they have ice cream (Lion and Bear!), a cooler with a lot of different drinks (soda, sparkling water, milk, etc) and a full espresso machine for lattes and the like. It's not the fanciest place, but it's is in Haga and it fits right in with that areas artsy feeling. The foods great, and it's cheap to boot. I go there all the time; I'm hooked and I'm not even a vegetarian!

    Soup + eggplant pie + 3 sides

I ordered the pie of the day with three sides and a small soup. I opted for tabbouleh, which I don't usually love, along with bread, lentil soup, tahini chickpea salad, eggplant pie, and cold lentil balls that looked like uncooked falafel. Everything was amazing. I especially enjoyed the eggplant pie, which had pine nuts, eggplant, and carmelized onions sandwiched by a cornmeal top and a seed cracker crust. The lentil balls were really amazing as well, even though they didn't look the most appetizing at first. Everything was just very fresh and had a nice balance of flavors, including lots of fresh herbs like oregano, rosemary, and mint. The owner or manager was also super warm and welcoming and loved chatting with customers and tourists and letting them try the various foods. And the setting was great as well. I sat inside to take respite from the sun, but I still got to enjoy the cool breeze through the windows and the naturally lit space. They have lots of tables outside along Haga, as well, which make for a good place to people-watch. When I went, everything was vegan except for one dish, which contained tzatziki.

The soup is delicious, but requires an extra fee of 40kr if you choose to share food with another person.

The try everything combination platter including soup! Yummmmm

I walked around first to check the place out, a very cool interior, and several places to eat. I didn't realize it at first, but there is more than one restaurant. I went to the front host stand and told the host that it was one for dinner. He greeted me, gave me a menu, and then we walked to one of the seafood bars and I sat down. The name was Ekmans Almost immediately, the man behind the bar came to me and asked me for my drink order. We discussed the different beers available, I settled on a local draft and then perused the menu. As I walked in, I spied another diner having a seafood platter, which looked great. I asked my server about it, and he highly recommended it, so I ordered it. He brought me a tasty cold beer, and shortly thereafter, my seafood platter arrived, and it was perfect- a bunch of tasty small shrimp, mussels, salad, crackers, aged cheese, and 3 huge Langoustines! It was delicious, I had a second beer and enjoed my meal and conversation with the barman very much. There are several restaurants here, as well as a seafood market during the day. I would definitely come back here on my next visit- highly recommended!

Otherwise, it's a bit of a maze to get through, and the produce is not always as fresh as some other markets in the city. The best part is how extensive the products are, and the sushi bar that has fresh sushi made by sushi chefs right there. They have a lot of self check out kiosks which makes it quite fast to check out. But it is hard to find what you're looking for if you haven't been there very often, the layout isn't super straight forward.
