We stopped for the gigantic kannelbulle, and it did not disappoint! The cinnamon flavor was spicy and delicious. At the end of the day, the had it wrapped in plastic for easy to-go. The staff were very friendly and answered our questions about different pastries

A must stop to try their massive delicious cinnamon buns. They have a great little cafe to sit in and enjoy the atmosphere while consuming some fantastic pastries. Service is fast and place is clean! A must try when you're in the area!

I've been here a few times and I guess I've finally come to a decision on what kind of review to write. The food here is quite good. They offer an assortment of hot food including pastas, quiches, baked potatoes etc. They also have cold sandwiches and of course their bakery has an extensive selection of brownies, cookies, and cakes. I have tried many of their brownies and cookies, their cinnamon rolls, and their shepherds pie, and have to say that they are all really good. However, I think that most of the menu items are extremely overpriced. Cafe Husaren is widely known for its giant cinnamon rolls, however while they are quite "cool", they are hardly worth their price, if only for the picture. Nothing compared to even the regular store-bought American cinnamon buns with the cream cheese frosting. The brownies and cookies are delicious, yet expensive. The average bakery item costs 30-35 sek, sometimes more, and the sizes of the pieces vary greatly. Some are very big and some are tiny. One thing I think I should mention is that one time we came in here, my friend found a looooong ass black hair baked into her shepherds pie. Both of us have lighter hair so we know it wasn't ours. I get that restaurants make mistakes, so we didn't make a huge deal out of it, but I felt it should be mentioned in my review. To give an idea of prices, here's today's receipt: Karlek-smums (cookie) - 35 sek Shepherds pie - 72 sek Nutella brownie - 42 sek Stor kaka (coconut brownie) - 30 sek Total: 179 sek, aka about $20 I would definitely recommend this place just because of their bakery, however keep in mind that the prices are pretty high. Also watch out for hair in your food.

This is quite a famous place that is obviously known for their massively sized cinnamon rolls (see picture). We had to stop and try Gothenburg's specialty as it is more of a bread than traditional cinnamon rolls I am accustomed to - no icing and tons of rock sugar on the top. It was divine! The ordering system can be a bit hard to understand for non-locals, you grab a tray, make your way down the line picking food from ready to buy options or wait until you reach the cashiers to order hot coffee and made to order dishes. The amount of cinnamon rolls they took out every couple of minutes is impressive, we bought one to share and still had to take some leftovers in a bag for snacking later on. Their cappuccino was also delicious and perfectly complements the pastry. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful cobblestone street this cafe is tucked into. Highly recommend!

I was advised to go here for coffee. What i liked: - interior.... Very nice - the cakes on offer - location in centre of haga - customer friendly As espresso lover, this is not the best place in town. But, the ambiance totally makes up for it. Popular amongst tourists and locals.

Cute little cafe with outdoor seating and yummy desserts. We tried a little of everything, but the most popular item (the giant cinnamon bun) was actually my least favorite. Compared to American cinnamon buns, these were dry and not sweet, but the coffee and other pastries were good enough to make up for it.

Cute little cafe in the centre of Gothenburg. We came here for their cinnamon buns, but had their chocolate cake instead. It was very moist, and rich. A great surprise. Next time I will definitely try their well known cinnamon buns.

There was construction going on the floors above, but the cafe was still very much functional. There were so many kanelbullars in the window that we realized they were a Swedish specialty. Needless to say, I had to try one. It was basically a really big and flat cinnamon roll, but it was good! They had sugar on top and I scooped most of it off so it wouldn't get too sweet. It was really big though, so I ate a little more than half of it and saved the rest for breakfast the next day. The ambiance is nice in the cafe; there are q lot of comfortable chairs and an ample amount of space, and the menu has sweets (pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, etc), drinks (coffee, tea, etc), and food (sandwiches, pastas). Definitely come check it out if you're in the area!

I've had breakfast here a couple of times. You get a sandwich, juice, cold boiled egg, yoghurt+musli, hot beverage and a pancake served w jam and cream. Unfortunately the pancake is cold before you get to it. The egg is not freshly boiled it is ice cold - Huge downside!! Decent but not the sexiest breakfast around!

After an initial stroll down Haga Nygata on my first day in Gothenburg, I made a mental note to return to Cafe Husaren for my next fika. It looked super cute from the outside with the large bulle [cinnamon rolls] piled high in the glass window, as well as numerous patrons going in and out of the cafe. I returned the next day after class, v hungry and ready to try a variety of the pastries. I found cafe Husaren super mediocre. While they had what seemed like at least 30 different types of desserts, none of them looked particularly appealing. Definitely a quantity over quality situation. I ordered two desserts [can't remember what, which should already tell you something!] and they were so blah that I didn't finish either [very unlike me!]. The latte I ordered was just ok as well. My travel buddy ordered one of the huge bulle that they are famous for and he said it was pretty good. The interior decor mirrored the mediocrity of the food. Although the decor was very fancy with chandeliers and tiled ceilings, to me it seemed a little drab + worn and looked like it could use a good, thorough cleaning. The decor featured lots of heavy curtains, which blocked the sunlight and also lots of pillows. I don't find all this heavy upholstery in an eating establishment v appealing. I wasn't super comfortable in my seat; however, I was limited in my choice because I needed an outlet [which were hard to find!] They do stay open later than some of the other cafes on Haga Nygata. Wifi was free, but ask the associate for the password before you get all comfortable! Actually, I just remembered that the wifi had a terrible signal. At least the photo I took of the cinnamon buns piled high in the window got me a lot of Instagram likes [or maybe it was just my witty caption]!

It's a self-service counter, and has a variety of sandwiches, soups, wraps, and pastries. Coffee and other drinks are available. The food all seems to be health-oriented, with lots of vegetarian options. My wife was happy with her soup, and blueberry cream cheese muffin. I had a chicken salad that was nicely composed. The seating area was cheerful and sunny and it made for a pleasant lunch.

It was right next to my hotel, and it is open when the library is open. It had nice selection of salad & sandwich items along with coffee, smoothies, and cookies. I love a good cafe in a bookstore but never had a great cafe experience at a library. The library itself is a gem, and this cafe is on the second floor. Quiet, cute, reasonably priced, and really good coffee! (I had a cortado, which came almost at a size of small cappuccino) Also I loved the cardamom almond cake I ordered. Both a only 60Krona. I am so in love with this place and will be back as much as I can while I stay here!
