This for sure is an acquired taste. I personally love cream cheese and purple rice but I heard…read morepeople not liking the cream cheese. Everything here are just personal preference, doesn't mean it's bad. For me, the mochi is always chewy and stretchy and the ingredients taste fresh! The fillings are never too sweet (haters may say bland but i prefer it healthier lol) and the portion is also very generous. The taro is also fresh real taro and not those fake colored ones flooded with sugar. The matcha also tasted very matcha just a bit too sweet (kind of like white chocolate matcha) but again, personal preference. When i first ate it i thought it was ok, but i find myself craving it from time to time haha. So i tbh dont understand the low rating and feel it's unfair to the store. A lot of people say the filling is too heavy but rly, if they reduce the filling, everybody going to complain that it's just rice flour? And if u ever see those mochi shops in taiwan and japan, their mochi skin is even thinner than this because they want to focus on the filling. If u want mostly mochi or get sick of food easily, i recommend to just get their mochi dip instead of the ones with fillings. As for the service, it has always been fast for me, only the wait to order at the self ordering kiosks take long but thats not the shop's fault.

We got the matcha black sesame and my friends got other flavors. We didn't eat it right the way bc we were still full from dinner. We were going to eat it when we get home but our neighbor decided to have an after party for someone's birthday.. haha We ate the following day. It was still good but very heavy, esp the black sesame filling. I'm sure it could've been better if eaten on the same day.

Two items for immediate consumption and then some cookies for later. We purchased a dozen of the regular size cookies, including both Ube and Thai Tea. Both of them were excellent, and I felt they were priced appropriately at a dozen for $18. The Thai Tea seriously tasted like you were truly drinking a thai tea. We also shared one large classic chocolate chip cookies (so yummy!) The only thing we didn't understand is that we shared a Ube Tres Leches. I am not sure what was going on. Don't get me wrong, what we ate was very good; however, it was 100% not Tres Leches. It was an Ube Cream with some graham cracker crumble underneath. So, my assumption is that they must have just given us the wrong item. I would love to try the Tres Leches again in the future. Please support his lovely local business. It was a real treat!

This place is really great! I love that they have unique flavors that most bakeries don't have like ube and pandan! The banana pudding is so good! Not too sweet! I came in just for that but I saw that they had a ube blondie and that was amazing too! Montebello isn't known for many things but these local shops really do bring the community together! I do see myself coming back here in the future, and I really hope to see this place succeed!

We were…read moredeciding between #1 (10 churros) and #4 (6 churros with strawberry, condensed milk, and caramel). We opted for 6 churros because it was just two of us. The churros were so good - crunchy texture, great size, and perfectly sweet. The sauce, which we asked for on the side, was good but sometimes too sweet - so I'm glad we asked for it separately. It looks like cost has gone up recently. It took some time to order since they make it fresh, which was fine for us. There was a crowd of about 5-6 other parties waiting on the street for their churros - so you'll be in good company! Next time, we said we'd order #1 with a group of 4. I love churros as much as the next person, but I think I need to share them with more people!

This food truck is on the street, but there's ample free parking at a nearby lot and other food trucks sharing the same curb and area. I ordered 5 regular churros for $8 which was a bit pricey, but not too bad. This portion size I got was not on the menu and I inquired about these since I was looking for the lowest quantity of churros as possible. The churros were overall good and tasty. Crunchy, sugary, and fried nicely. They did taste a bit oily though, but it is a fried treat after all. These were still too much for one person though. If I had to try it again, I would want to get some sauce since I felt like it was missing those as well as bring another person to share them with.
