I'm writing this review because of the experience my friend's sister had with Jenna In White, and…read morehonestly, after hearing what happened, I'm glad I never purchased my own wedding dress here. My friend's sister initially had a great experience. She found a dress she absolutely loved and was so excited about it. While she was trying it on, her family asked about adding a liner to the bodice. The salesperson told her that they could absolutely add one, that it would only be $60, and -- most importantly -- that if she didn't like it, it could simply be taken back out. That information is what ultimately led her to agree to the liner. When she received her dress, it looked significantly different from the dress she originally fell in love with. She was extremely upset, but she remembered being told that the liner could be removed, so she contacted Jenna In White and followed their recommendations for alterations. The alterations experience was a disaster. The liner had apparently been incorporated into the structure of the dress, and the alterations ended up affecting the boning and structure of the gown. She was eventually told that the original boning had been removed and thrown away. The dress was no longer structured the way it originally was, and there were additional issues with the fit and construction. On top of that, while she was being fitted, there were inappropriate comments being made by men in the alterations shop that made her extremely uncomfortable. She left in tears. She eventually took the dress to another experienced seamstress who has decades of experience with wedding dresses, and the reaction was essentially disbelief at what had been done to the gown. At this point, she went back to Jenna In White for help. She needed to see the original dress or a similar version so the seamstress could reference how it was originally constructed. This is where I think Jenna In White really failed. When my friend's sister called, she was told they were completely booked for the rest of the day and couldn't accommodate her. She drove roughly an hour to the store anyway -- only to arrive and find that there was essentially no one there and no appointments happening. She spoke with Jenna directly and explained everything that had happened. Rather than feeling like Jenna took responsibility for the information her employee had given her, my friend's sister felt like her experience was being defended and minimized. And THAT is the biggest problem for me. I understand that mistakes happen. I understand that alterations can go wrong. But when you are a bridal shop selling a $3,500 wedding dress, your employees need to know what they are promising customers. If the salesperson didn't know whether the liner could safely be removed, she should have said that. She shouldn't have confidently told a bride, "You can always take it back out," when that apparently wasn't the case. My friend's sister made a decision based on what she was told by the person selling her the dress. She then had to deal with the consequences of that information being wrong. And instead of simply saying, "We gave you incorrect information, and we're sorry. Let's figure out how we can help fix this," the experience became about defending the store and questioning what happened. That is incredibly disappointing. I had already heard multiple horror stories about Jenna In White, which is why I personally never purchased my wedding dress there. After seeing what happened to my friend's sister, I absolutely stand by that decision. Brides spend thousands of dollars on these dresses and trust bridal shops with something incredibly important to them. If your staff doesn't know whether a modification can safely be reversed, don't promise that it can. And when your employee gives a customer incorrect information, take accountability for it. The lack of accountability after everything my friend's sister went through is what makes this experience so upsetting.

My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 AM, but I ended up being about 15 minutes late due to a freeway closure. I called ahead to let them know, but was immediately told I should consider rescheduling since I'd "only have about 45mins" left. That caught me off guard, especially since most bridal shops I've been to allow at least 90 minutes per appointment. When I arrived, I apologized for the delay and explained the situation. I also brought up the shorter appointment time, and they explained that it's because they don't charge a booking fee. I get that--but I did have to put a card on file, and there's a $50 charge for no-shows or late cancellations, so it felt a little contradictory. Before we even started, I was told I'd only be able to try on 3-4 dresses, which was kind of frustrating. Luckily, I ended up trying on 8, (due to rushing) so i guess it worked out. Still, the whole appointment felt a bit rushed and could've been handled better from the beginning. That said, the girls helping me were kind and professional, and the dresses were absolutely stunning. They have a beautiful selection at a wide range of price points, so there's definitely good value if you're on a budget or looking to splurge. Overall a good experience, just wish it felt a bit more relaxed.

I followed their rules, submitted my measurements and had a consultation. During the consultation they asked some very pointed questions and amended their suggestion for dress sizes based on my answers. I went with their suggestion as I don't know the designer and am not looking to stress myself out by having a dress that doesn't fit. The dress arrived and it is 3 INCHES too SMALL. I even LOST 20 lbs from the time I ordered. When I called, they were sympathetic and found scraps from the other girls dresses. Here's the ridiculous part - they don't ship anything, period. I understand if it is a dress, accessory, etc. or anything in that category. I do not understand the unwillingness to budge when we are talking about scraps of fabric you cut from other girls hems. I was also told the dress would not need extra length and would accommodate my 3 in heels. WRONG. I have to purchase new shoes that are about 1 in so the dress stays an appropriate length. Unfortunately, there is no one remotely near the location to pick it up. Instead of amending their policies to send scraps of fabric to a customer they obviously screwed up an order on, they put the onus on me told me it was my fault for "choosing" an incorrect dress size and that the person on the phone "didn't do anything so why am I being rude to her." I had been polite until the point that they refused to ship fabric. I was a little more forceful and explained how this was poor customer service because they screwed up the order and are refusing to accommodate an out of state customer. I am truly saddened when my hard earned money goes to a company who could give zero cents about customer service. From previous reviews, it looks like this place can't get their sizing straight. I would use extreme caution ordering from this company if they are not within relatively easing driving distance, so you can go back and let them fix their mistakes.

While speaking with the owner and the sales associate, they were very encouraging and suggested I leave a deposit to hold the dress. Unfortunately, leaving that deposit turned out to be the worst decision. I left a $150 deposit thinking my daughter would most likely want that dress, or at the very least another dress from that shop. However, when she woke up the next day, she realized she didn't want that dress anymore. Three days later we went back to the shop to let them know. That's when I was informed that if we didn't keep the original dress, we would lose the $150 deposit completely. We couldn't apply it toward another dress, a purse, earrings, alterations, or anything else in the store. It was simply forfeited. I understand that holding a dress may prevent other potential buyers from purchasing it, and I understand that businesses need policies to protect themselves. However, I did not appreciate how strongly we were encouraged to leave the deposit, knowing how often teens change their minds. I feel like I was led into losing $150. This is simply a warning to other parents: do not leave a deposit unless you are absolutely certain about the dress, because if you change your mind, you will lose it.

There was something about the outstanding reviews of Crown Custom Clothing that drew me in. I decided to bring a bridesmaid dress here that was probably 2 1/2 sizes too big. The dress is strapless and had a mini train that I wanted cut to match the rest of the dress length. When we first got there, Mohammad wasn't there so I started to get nervous with the other worker. He was trying to pin the dress to fit me and it just wasn't working out. I could tell he was getting frustrated with pins popping out everywhere and it seemed that he didn't work much with dresses. He ended up calling Mohammad and put him on the phone with me. Mohammad said that he was on his way and would be there shortly to take care of everything. The minute he walked in the door I felt at ease. You could just tell he knew what he was doing. He also gave me a discount for waiting. I was already going to give him a yelp coupon, but it was a nice gesture anyway. He had my dress altered and steamed exactly 2 weeks later. I tried the dress on which fit PERFECTLY. It felt like a custom made dress and looked beautiful. He did a wonderful job. I also wanted to comment on how friendly Mohammad was. I brought my husband and 3 year old son both times and he engaged my son both days. That obviously had nothing to do with his craftmanship but it always makes for a more pleasant experience when people are happy and friendly. I would definitely recommend this business. I can't speak for how he tailors custom suits but I do plan on taking my husband back there for a custom suit in the future. I highly recommend Mohammad and will take my business there again.
