I was excited to find a trauma informed therapist, however, I had a very poor experience with Terri and cannot recommend her based an overall lack of professionalism & ego. I found her dismissive, and she took it personally if I disagreed with her.
She told me I was "the most difficult client" she has and used profanity in the session, which I have never experienced with any other therapist.
Terri's dog was present in the room during every session, and barked at me while I entered the therapy office.
Her dog growled at me, and Terri said that was due to her dog being protective of her food bowl - which was placed nearby to the couch I sat at during sessions.
I was visibly uncomfortable with this, but Terri did not offer any accommodation such as offering to place the dog in another room during sessions or to not have her present.
Based on my experience, I would feel comfortable recommending her to someone neurodivergent, a victim or trauma, or someone scared/uncomfortable around untrained dogs. read more
