My partner decided to take me on a mini shopping spree for my birthday. We come here at least twice…read morea year, and this time we went to the On Clouds store (which honestly I didn't know they opened so I was pleasantly surprised, and excited to see all the merchandise in person). After circling around the parking lot for a few monies, we decided to park in the special gated area, and paid a few bucks for a spot. There is a parking garage, but my partner has a box on his SUV making it too high to enter. The lots outside the stores are PACKED. There is also a bigger lot behind the stores, but that requires a lot of walking. The store complex is huge and even has a name. We usually choose one section to go to and stay around there - we are not big shoppers as some people that go there. We just usually just make our rounds around our favorite stores, and whatever else we decide to check out. There are food stands spread around the complex where you can get sweets and beverages. A huge building with management office, guest services and various food chains stands somewhere in the complex. I got Jersey Mike's and Pink berry for dessert. My partner opted to try chicken and fries from the Melt Shop. Overall the food choices are solid, I'd say. Something for everyone. It is always a fun little escape to go to a mini town full of shops. Many are outlets - which means cheaper prices than you would find in a regular store. It is a dangerous adventure since we always drop a few hundreds when we go thus why we don't go often. There isn't much that surrounds Woodbury Commons to explore, so when you decide to go make sure you put aside at least half to a full day for just walking around.

Its a large area and occupies a few buildings actually. You may find yourself driving and parking a few times. Walmart is an anchor on one end, and there is plenty of traffic for that alone. Its not the best Walmart, so skip that and go to Party City, Kohl, Gap, Burlington Coats, The Mens Warehouse, or one of the another places here. Plenty of food and drink options too. This used to be a higher end, upscale mall. It's now a bit run down, but not terrible. It still has…read morelots of big box stores, but also small boutiques and pop ups. For example, there is an entire storefront devoted to claw machines. There is another store called "mystery bins" that has a random assortment of items that kind of look like they fell off a truck. There is a rope obstacle course for kids on the upper floors of the mall. Cool concept, but a little off putting that things could fall from above on to shoppers on the lower levels. Overall, it's a decent mall, but it has lost some of its luster over the years.

I'm not sure how many times I've tried the pick up service through the years, but it's been years…read moresince my order was correct and/or wasn't cancelled. Either way, the products I wanted were on the shelves most of the time. Staff can be moody but a lot less so than they were years ago. I've had a few pretend not to speak English until they realized I'll just ask for help in Spanish, which gives both of us a good laugh before they help, usually in English. I won't hold that against them because they probably feel their hands are too full. It's not as if they are sitting on their butts or twiddling their thumbs, but it is something that's happened more than once with different staff in different departments. I did have an issue with something ringing up incorrectly at self-checkout a while back. The lady manning self-checkout said she needed a manager to give her permission to change the price. I watched her go ask the manager for assistance. I watched the manager, who was chatting with someone organizing bins in another checkout lane, make no attempt to come over and assist for over 20 minutes. I went into the checkout lane next to the manager and heard her just talking about home and gossip without a care in the world, but she turned professional when I came out of hiding and asked when she planned to assist me. She pretended that she didn't know I had been waiting until I pointed out that I had not only watched her be asked, I had been listening to the last few minutes for her conversation while I waited. The lady manning self-checkout apologized after the manager finally came over, and I told her she did her part, and it wasn't her fault. She said she was nervous I was going to take it out on her because that's what customers usually do when this happens, which leads to suspect this is a game that manager regularly plays while leaving their staff to take the brunt of the customers' rage. It's no wonder the staff have a bad reputation for customer service. One of my last visits was during opening. None of the self-checkout registers had any bags, which isn't abnormal. I went to one of the other registers and grabbed one bag from there. I probably needed at least four for the amount of things I had, but there were so few and relatively a lot of customers for an early morning, so I left the rest for the others. A lady who was staring at me came to the woman self-checkout and said hide the bags because "they" take them all while she looked at me. I don't know if that woman was a supervisor, but I know she was out-of-pocket. I took one bag. I really should've turned around and took three more in spite. I feel I was profiled a few times at this store, whether due to race or age, I'm unsure. I reported it once and never saw that employee again, but I never received an acknowledgment much less an apology for it. This isn't my favorite Walmart location for a host of reasons, but I think Walmarts in general might be cutting back on inventory in their brick and mortar stores. This might be in an effort to push customers to pick up and delivery services, but this particular store is horrible for pick ups for years.

There is a Subway and AuntieAnne's inside, which is great. We were in and out in no time. The parking lot can get a bit full, this place gets busy depending on what time you visit. Overall, it's Walmart and we greatly appreciate the reasonable prices here.

Playtog's is your destination for all of your wolf needs. Need a thousand pairs of tube socks and want to feel like you need a vaccine for some disease that hasn't been discovered yet? Find that disease, and those socks, at Playtog's. 95% of the flea market is garbage. The other 5% is grossly overpriced. Don't put out a few bins of records and say that they're "Oh, like, $3 to $10 each." That's a big effing price range. You gotta label that shiz. Or sort them into bins based on their price. Put some effort in, you moron. It's not a great place to go, unless you have nothing else to do and feel like living dangerously. Middletown isn't exactly known for its genteel population, unless 'genteel' means 'likely to shank you for that nickel in your pocket'. I just looked it up. It doesn't mean that thing.

They also have a large parking lot -- plus underground parking that's free, which is a huge bonus. The area isn't overly busy, so the stores aren't crowded, and that's definitely a big plus for me.
