I'm always a bit leery about job agencies - they promise big, but never deliver. In this case,…read moreunfortunately I was right. I received a call from someone at the agency for an interview the following day. I showed up, and received a head to toe look over and was told I just needed to fill out an application with their agency, and I'd be on my way to an interview at the business itself. I was told very basic information about the position and its duties, and was told to call after the interview. I went to the place of business, where two other women (also sent by Alfa) were waiting. Apparently, we had all been sent over for the same position. The "manager" was 15 minutes late, and when he arrived he called us back to the office, gave us all another look over, and explained details about the position. He then took our resumes, and said that was all. It was a very strange experience. He didn't ask ANY questions regarding our resumes, experience, expectations, etc. I received a call later that day from Alfa saying that I had been chosen to start at the position, and she would call me the next day, or the following Monday. She never called me back. I didn't return the call either, because I got an uneasy feeling about the whole process - very unprofessional to say the least. The position's duties were also way up and above the job title and wage range to make matters worse. Moral: Think twice about replying to a job ad from this agency, and if you do, don't expect a whole lot in return from them. It seems like a small mom and pop shop, and they don't quite have their act together. I wasted a day and bus fare for nothing.

Recruiters in this agency have been great working with and answering and resolving any questions or concerns I may have had. I would recommend Alfa to everyone who is looking for a job.!

My initial email to Craig was returned within a matter of hours and an appointment was scheduled for a Friday morning. I fired over my resume and some other requested information before hand. Even before our Friday meeting Craig had emailed me to let me know he had an opportunity that would most likely be of interest for me and would discuss it further in our meeting. Creative Niche is very thorough in the their set up. There's a fair bit of paperwork to fill out on your initial visit but they're just trying to set you up for success by getting a solid foundation of who you are, what you're about, and what you're looking for. Once the paperwork was out of the way I sat down with Craig and he explained how they work and the way they structure things. After that it was all about me. We went through my resume and delved into my work history, talked about the things I liked about where I was before and what I wanted to get out of my future career path. While it's early in my relationship with Creative Niche, so far it has been an excellent experience. April challenge 14/30
