I booked a car about two weeks in advance for a very special dinner/event outside of London. The driver did not confirm when he got to my hotel in South Kensington, or I would've started half an hour early. I had to call the main telephone line. He was completely unaccommodating throughout. I had a 2:30 appt at High Holborn, the building was a block away from a traffic light but he refused to let me walk it, instead circled around the whole block because he said "it will be hard to coordinate" even though I said I'll just call him when done, and he made me late by 15 minutes.
I asked for a phone charger but he kept refusing and insisting I give him my phone. To each destination, I had to give him the same directions four to six times because he wouldn't write them down or anything or listen carefully. Â I had to interrupt my phone calls multiple times to answer his inane questions. He kept asking me personal questions about where I was going and what I was planning to do. I told him the exact address of where to be picked up and he stopped two blocks away behind a "red thing" whatever that meant.
He was racist and rude. He picked up my husband's wallet which had fallen in the car and refused to return it to him, acting as if my husband was stealing his own
wallet.
He played rap music in the car and kept fiddling with the radio, swaying as he drove. When we asked him to drive faster he acted as if we didn't know anything about roads, saying ludicrous things like "it is unethical to change lanes". There were 20 other people at this dinner (which, again, was 90 minutes' drive outside of London). Everyone else's cars and drivers were waiting outside the location, this guy went away. read more
