I had a very disappointing experience with Empire Today. My appointment window was between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. No one showed up, and no one called to let me know there was a delay or issue. At 2:00 p.m., I called to find out what had happened and was told that the salesperson had noted that I was "not at home." That is completely false. I work from home and was here the entire time waiting for the appointment. Later, I received a call from the service/sales manager, who said he had spoken with the salesperson and was told that he had called me. That is also untrue. I received no phone call, voicemail, or missed call from anyone at Empire Today. This experience was extremely frustrating and a complete waste of my time. Because of the inaccurate information and poor customer service, I have no interest in rescheduling my appointment. I expected better communication and professionalism. read more

Title: Avoid Empire Flooring at All Costs - A Costly Nightmare from Start to Finish Review: In December 2023, I paid over $22,000 to have my floors installed by Empire Flooring. Within months, I noticed the baseboards lifting from the walls throughout my entire home. A contractor later explained that Empire installed the quarter round too tight against the flooring, causing the lifting issue. When I called Empire in March 2025, they informed me that my installation warranty had expired just three months earlier. Even worse, I had purchased a $2,000 extended warranty, which I later learned only covers accidental damage--not installation errors. Absolutely unbelievable. That alone was bad enough--but the story gets worse. After a kitchen flood damaged about 200 square feet of flooring, I paid $3,600 for repairs. In the middle of the repair, the installation manager abruptly ordered the crew to leave, claiming that my original flooring was installed incorrectly and that my continuous flooring layout violated the manufacturer's warranty--even though Empire themselves installed it that way! He insisted that they would only proceed if I agreed to add five transitions in doorways and an 18-foot transition strip across the middle of my great room. When I refused to accept that ridiculous "solution," they walked off the job. After multiple complaints to corporate, Empire finally offered to replace all my flooring for $10,000 since they no longer carry my original material. I agreed, set an install date, and took off work... but no one showed up. The sales rep stopped responding, and now, as of October 2025, I've lost two days of work and still have no completed floor. I've given this company every opportunity to make things right, and they have failed miserably at every turn. If you value your home, your time, or your sanity--DO NOT hire Empire Flooring. The worst installation experience. First install date was canceled because the guys truck broke down. Empire did bother calling to inform me until 5 hours later. The sales manager came on the sales call as my salesperson was new. They were so nice and then... install was a nightmare. The manager named Mike, promised a nice transition to be installed between my laminate flooring and the bathroom. She lied. I live in St Augustine and this install took place in May 2023. This install was in my owners bathroom. The installers were sloppy and terrible. I had vinyl installed over existing DR Horton vinyl. These two guys made cuts in the floor in high traffic areas that made no sense. It was only obvious after they left when I saw the white area between the squares were cut. My entire floor was covered in glue and the transition they brought was a cheap piece of aluminum metal. A joke. I emailed empire my photos. A day later I get a call from Garrett who apologized and said those guys were fired. Then he said he had only one crew he could call to come "repair" the mistakes. He then stayed there are no flooring people left in the area to hire. JUST TO BE CLEAR ALL WORK BY THIS COMPANY IS SUBBED OUT BY GUYS WHO HAVE THEIR OWN one truck COMPANIES. The first guys were really young men who installed decks and such they said. He was able to locate two guys to come out and basically admitted there is no fix except taking out the floor and starting over as it is a two day job to pull this vinyl out alone! They tried using the heat gun to seal the cut seams to no avail. Then they did use a good solution to remove the glue that covered my floor. However it wasn't until 2 months after that I realized they did not caulk at a corner of my shoe molding! Now it is separating. I emailed Garrett again today to demand my whole floor be replaced. Was on the third attempt to have them come out on the day they promised and still the salesman was 1hour and 15 minutes late. Ok so I have a 850 sqft condo. There was a promo going on for 50% off install and flooring. Long story short for the laminated floor it would have cost me $6800 and for vinyl flooring $4600. Carpeting $3800. Now remember this is 50% off. There is no way in H*ll that it costs 13k or $9200 or $7200 or even to do my flooring in my condo. The mark up is not a sales price it's a bait and hook scheme that after 3 attempts made me even more frustrated. Now I see they are offering 75% selected brands. Probably at a 250% mark up. Installers are terrible in the NE Florida Area. We were promised installers would arrive during a morning window. They came at 5:30 in the evening. No calls. Empire couldn't even get them to answer their phone. Then our carpet needed repair because of a pull in the seems. We scheduled a repair on a Thursday. Got a text that day the installers would come in a week and a half! Unacceptable! Empire costumer service couldn't even get through to their installers! read more

Aiden Sharpe was the flooring consultant that came out to our home to quote us for two bedrooms in our home. Well he promised to send over a quote but never did. I even called twice to "remind" him we were still waiting but apparently my business was not with good time because the quote never came. Such a waste of our time. He could've been honest and said he wasn't interested in quoting the job instead of making promises. We called their main office and was told the quote would take 24 hrs.... Again nothing. I went online to a live chat and gave them the request for my information. I furnished my order number, name, address, phone number and email address. So, again, it's a waiting game! Amex stated the situation has until February 22, to be resolved. If Empire hasn't chosen to refund my money by then, I will contact my attorney. In February in ordered carpeting and installation for my bedrooms and hallway. I paid for everything in full. I had to empty my closets and remove all the books in my bookcase. Also move everything off the furniture. The salesman said that my very heavy oak desk would be no problem. The installers came and much to my dismay, managed to chip, scrap and gouge every door way down my hallway. Then they said they couldn't move my desk. They would just move it around the room during installation. I agreed but in stead of moving the desk in a horizontal position they decided to flip it on its edge which lead to breaking the support in the back. Then when they were finishing up my master bedroom they couldn't complete the room as their last roll of carpet wasn't the same. They couldn't get the right carpet for three days. That left my living room filled with clothes and furniture and me sleeping on the couch. Empire promised they would make thing right. Well , three weeks later, no one would call me back. I wrote a Google review and someone from Empire Called me back, assuring me that they would handle everything and they were an upstanding company. Without a doubt the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. I'm going to need to get an attorney. They installed flooring (and it was a nightmare of an installation), it cracked within a few months badly in two spots and when I reached out to try to get them to come look at it, I thought I was being catfished. Twice they set up an appointment, never showed up, never called and would not return my calls or texts about it. I've called more than a half-dozen times and was told that the customer service manager Christal Santana would call me back and she never has. I've left voice mails GM Keith Marcille that he did not respond to. It's unbelievable. It's a helpless situation as my floor looks worse than it did before I paid them $5,000 ..... and they absolutely ignore every message and call about it. And then when I actually reach someone who say they are setting up an appointment for someone to come look at it, they never show up as I sit at the house and wait for them during the day/time I was told. I don't know how this is even legal but hopefully someone with authority gets involved with this company. I contacted Empire Today to get a quote for new carpet installation. The sales representative came out to the property and I had my husband meet the guy because I was busy with other errands. The sales guy refused to measure the rooms and give us a quote because I wasn't there. After a few minutes of back and forth with my husband, he left. The call center immediately called me back asking if I requested a reschedule. I explained the situation and requested a new guy come out because this one was very rude and unprofessional. The agent rescheduled for today and no one showed up. Needless to say we won't be going with Empire for any flooring needs. read more

They missed original install date, vehicle failure. They showed up for the installation with the wrong quarter round. They punched a hole in our screen door. I contacted the install manager who stated that the installer would look at it when they came back to complete the quarter round. When they came to do the quarter round, I had to pull the old nails. The installer was just bending over the old nails which would cause the quarter round to be slightly off the baseboard. The installer argued with me about the screen door and did not report his findings. When I contacted Empire about the status, they basically said I was lying and will not cover the screen. I do not recommend Empire Today. UPDATE 04/25/2023: I also put in a poor review on Google Maps, the owner responded saying that this is not the way they would like to do business and that they would work with me to correct the issue. I scheduled a flooring quote appointment for 3-5pm. I received an email, text, and phone call confirming the appointment. They never showed! At 5:05pm I called to cancel, as I wasn't going to wait and hope they show. I was offered a $50 gift certificate, but declined. Absolutely furious, worst purchase.decision of my 49 year life. I sit here waiting on a callback that is overdue by a week. I have had the worst experience ever and these floors still are not right. 2 installations and I have not gotten what I paid SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for. And I now have door jams that have been butchered and are more than an inch higher than the floors. The stairs have nails sticking out of them and I am scared to take the tape off because I am pretty sure the product will come right up which is a hazard. I need immediate outreach and to be reimbursed for what I didn't receive and compensated for what has been destroyed. The fact that someone cannot pick up the phone and call a customer back is shameful. 2/27/21 had an in home consult and selected a LVP installation for my second story and the stairs. This purchase included removal of existing laminate and an extra sound proof barrier. Here I sit with strips still missing off of my stairs, clothes out of my closet and furniture moved to different rooms for the fourth time. The sheer fact that the installation that is here will have to be totally ripped up and replaced give me palpitations. The first contractor you sent clearly did not read directions as floor removal was part of the total invoice. I made the completely wrong decision based on Empire's performance thus far... I am requesting a reduction to my invoice of 50%. Not sure what chain of command you need to follow to make sure my story is heard. Now with the second installation delay I am 10 days in with zero to show and still pending materials and new installation date. I rarely write reviews. Take a look at others that I've written. I do it so rarely because I truly believe that what I have to say is generally irrelevant to anyone else. Alas, in the most dire of situations I will embark on a narrative journey to share my experience with others. This, I fear, is one of those times. I'd like to start off by saying that I had a 5 star experience with Empire in 2019. They installed flooring for my office and the home studio. These guys came in and killed it! I have absolutely no complaints about this visit. It came as a surprise, you can imagine, when the they come out to install carpet in the upstairs guest room. I can forgive that no one called me the day before to give me an installation window. Let's exclude that altogether. The installers arrived and immediately went upstairs to look around. It didn't take long for them to tell me that there was a problem. Seems that I had failed to prepare the room for carpet installation. I accept this folly. I was under the impression that since the hardwood guys moved the furniture when they were here last year, that the same would take place for the carpet installation. I accept this blame. A woman called me from Empire after the installers called her and explained the situation. I put her on speakerphone, and one of the installers came into my office at my request to listen in. She proceeded to tell me that the room wasn't "install ready", and with the tone she applied, you would've thought that she had removed carpet from the truck, lugged it upstairs, and was unhappy that things were prepared. My mantra on the call was two-fold: 1) What WON'T you move, because I will move it 2) What WILL you move, and I'll pay extra for it. It became obvious to me that she was used to customers who were going to bitch and moan about things, and gripe about the price....etc. I just wanted to know how much I needed to pay to get this thing moving...but I ultimately lost my patience with her rudeness and I said something akin to "...what do I have to do to speak to someone who's not a rude bitch?..." Welp, she had NEVER been spoken to like that before, and said that she was on a recorded line and that no one would fault her for canceling my order immediately. I agreed with the cancellation, and we hung up. The installer, who mentioned that he'd worked with other local installer companies before, said that he'd never heard someone so rude with a customer like that before. He said he was going to speak to his manager asap about it. I told him that if someone wanted to call me before the end of the day to work this out, that I'd be open to it...if not, I'd need to look for service elsewhere. The woman did called back less than an hour later to confirm that my deposit would be return...and the amount...etc. I told her that I was "...sorry to put her out and didn't mean to inconvenience her day..." (sarcasm applied) after she continued to literally sigh in my ear on the phone. Empire is large enough to not care about the future business that I planned to give them for upcoming home improvements. They won't even bat an eyelash at the $$ that they've lost out on. However, in this day and age, a review goes a long way. I'm not writing this... ...in hopes that Empire will reach out to give me a discount -- I've already found a new firm to deal with. ...to suggest that I'm perfect. ...to discourage you from using Empire. I AM writing this review so that those who read this may arm themselves with a single detailed experience during their decision-making process. read more

The 1 star goes to the politeness of the workers they subcontract, and the product. The sales consultant made derogatory remarks, kept touching me, tried to get more money out of me after the sale, and would not take responsibility for himself. I needed the flooring done and liked the product so after reassurance from a sales manager, I went through with the job. Spent thousands upon thousands of dollars. The installation was done poorly. Huge, ugly gaps left at every transition. I was told by their installation manager that nothing could be done. I ended up fixing some of the defects myself with some quarter round, a knife, and some glue. Pathetic. The sales managers seemed eager to assist right up until they got payment verification. Since then, my messages have not been returned and I'm left to fix their poor work myself. If I could post pictures here, I would. Do not go with this company. read more
