Excellent dojo! I've been attending here since the mid 90's and the programs for kids and adults are fantastic. Family oriented school with convenient class schedules and multiple Saturday classes available. Very involved in the community for over 50 years. What a great karate school, I have been going to this school ,since the early 80's. This school has great program's,for children with low self esteem,challenges and special needs.Empire State Karate has been open for over 50 years. Teaching ,Adults and children.The Sensei are great teachers and people. It's just like one big family. School is in dire straits. I would have previously recommended it, but no more. Prices are through the roof, ownership will nickel and dime you, and equipment is falling apart. Students are leaving in droves, parents are frustrated, instructors are frustrated. No one pays the same price. It was once a nice place but now just horrible. Owner over charges for Everything and doesn't stand by her word. We where loyal customers for 5 years and under previous management we would have continued but with owner now running things the school has gone to poop ..I continued to get charged for months after we cancelled our membership and owner refused to pay us back. This school is EXCELLENT! I learned Karate here as a child and have now enrolled my twin 3 year olds full time. It is such a great environment and a very personal experience. The owner knows every family and greets everyone each day. Always a positive experience when walking in the door. My children are beyond excited to go to karate class every day. Empire State Karate is an amazing karate school. I have been a student here for the past 4 years. I absolutely love it here. It's a great, friendly environment. All of the instructors and other students are all so kind and supportive. They always give great advice and help you with everything whether it be katas, weapons, and any questions you have. My whole family goes here and we all love it. It is such a fun place to be because the people that go here become a part of your "karate family". I definitely consider everyone here a part of my family. It's so much fun traveling through all of the ranks and learning all of the katas and weapons that go along with it. Empire State Karate is a second home to me. Not only do you learn karate here, but when you become a student, you have the opportunity to take part in all of the fun events we hold like our annual Christmas party and our Black Belt Graduation event.
