Being right across from the Students' Union, it gets nearly all of their hungry customers, and yet service is usually quick, friendly, and the food surprisingly good. Only downside - the prices are clearly a response to the intoxication level of students, I doubt many students would pay so much for those Chips and Cheese completely sober, and the annoying music that is playing in the shop late at night.

Almost worth the train fare to St Andrews alone. Though they do them in Edinburgh as well so maybe I'll go there. Warning: they only deep fry their own stuff.
