This is a go to spot for my family and I when we are traveling down to visit family. We usually end up buying at least one or two board games. The prices are essentially lies as the games are almost always cheaper than the sticker price. My only complaint is that the last two times we were in, we noticed that a TON of games were gone. They got rid of shelves of games. They are starting to downsize the amount of games they sell and that sucks as it is the only thing we go there for. read more

I can't say enough good things about George. He was my boss when I had a paper route sold me my first MtG deck, then took the time to teach me how to play. Many of my fondest memories are at Empire. At one point I'm sure he could have claimed me and my friends on his taxes. And growing up poor , not sure how legal it is, he would let me bag comics or sort cards for store credit. For a comic book store they have very few Comics. Apparently just enough to stay in the comic business. New comics but not really any back issues. I asked if they had any back issues and was directed to the 50 cent boxes. Each comic had Ac's sticker on the cover. I'm used to outsiders like Half Price Books destroying their product, but why would a store that claims to deal in Comics? read more

I have never did a yelp review and I wouldn't be surprised if I never do one again but I felt very compelled to do so after my visit to Empire Comics today. I brought my 3 yr old to Empire Comics to pick out a few comic books. I've been out of the comic book scene for almost 30 years. Without me asking or even acting like I needed help, a young lady approached us and explained the rating system on comic books to help guide me in picking out something that was age appropriate for my son. I had no clue that they had ratings. They didn't in the 90's. She was super helpful and I will without a doubt be bringing my son there again to buy more comics. Thank you so much! read more

Great little store, and it's the retail front of Cardhaus Games. You can order from the website for in-store pickup, but not same day. Empire is a small store, but they have most of the new releases (not everything that the website offers). Staff was very friendly, and they give 20% off posted prices. read more

The store was okay. Wasn't much room to move around and the floors were dirty - like it hadn't been vacuumed since the place opened. There was a nice selection of comics and games, and at decent prices. My only issue with the place was the girl behind the counter - she was crying while she was doing something behind the counter.
