They're always helpful when looking for any specific comics. They also don't upcharge for variant covers like some shops.

I was told by a friend of mine about Great Escape as a store in Louisville that I should certainly check out and well, after taking a trip recently, I absolutely agree. Great Escape is a store that might be a bit of a sensory overload for you if you're the kind of nerd like I am that also has a fine appreciation for vinyl as well as comics and even classic video games. Vintage shops are some of my favorite places to check out and Great Escape is now my go-to place for such items. Upon entering, you will immediately take a trip to wherever your nerdy imagination desires whether it be heading towards their insanely impressive collection of Star Wars toys or the amazing display of vintage vinyl records and music on a variety of other platforms. Great Escape also has a great selection of video games from just about any era of gaming from Atari all the way to the current generation of gaming which as a video game collector certainly was pleasing. The assortment of comics will keep you here flipping through them for hours as Great Escape has a number of classic stories that should please any comic book fan and what's even more impressive is the prices are extremely reasonable from discounts on graphic novels to a $.99 section of comics which provides a wide assortment that any fan, young or old, can appreciate. If you are looking for the place to shop for vintage comics, movies, music and more, look no further than the Great Escape as it will captivate you with the sheer amount of treasures you will find and even some you didn't know you wanted.

I'm from out of town and have been trying to do business with this store over the past two years…read morewhen I been coming to deal with family issues. I've had mixed to declining results and, with this last visit, I am done! The customer service has always been weak and now I'm at the breaking point. Because I have limited time each visit, I try to email a list of what I'm looking for in advance. Management either doesn't check their email or simply don't care. Last week, I called twice and unfortunately got the same person who thoroughly discouraged emailing in favor of coming in because "it would be easier" and "they don't have time to look." Easier for whom? Certainly not the returning costomer. Since they're close to the airport and I had time, I stopped in anyway on Fri. I spoke with who I believe to be the owner and he also wasn't too interested in making time to check books that he said he had in the back that were recently purchased. They were apparently getting ready for a sale the next day and possibly making a sale in the moment was clearly not that important. They made a copy of my list, took my name and number and said they would check. I made it clear that I was leaving Mon, today. As of 1:00, no call. So I called the store. The clerk who answered has no idea I'm talking about and was very dismissive, and the owner isn't there until tomorrow. They don't talk their employees anymore than their customers. So, that's it. I've had it with them and won't be going back even if they had the hardest to find book on my list. One of the worst shops I've ever been to for customer service. Shame on me for having given them multiple chances to do right.

I was in line about 3 hours early for the event not expecting anything special, but Carmichaels booksellers SPOILED the line. They brought out umbrellas to block to hot sun for us sweating, had cold water bottles for everyone, and even brought a tray on chips and two options of queso/dip for us. This was all before I even got to experience the inside of the store. The team treated me life family-even better. The books selection is beautiful and they even have stickers, and more than you can imagine adding to your shopping bag such as custom match boxes and custom candles plus more! I could browse all day. The team helped my find books, gave personalized recommendations, and even helped me pick a souvenir, and were so comforting and welcoming while they helped. During the event they were also taking pictures so I could have memories to look back on forever, I didn't need to pull out my phone once. They have it all, the team shines. Beautiful humans with beautiful souls. Huge shoutout to Beth and Tajah for getting wonderful pictures of me that I will cherish forever. Sending hug! Love you Carmichaels! Shoutout Jack Harlow for putting me on. Much love, MB

The Highlands location is well known and for years I shopped there every time we waited to be seated at Ramsi's or wanted coffee from Heine Bros. The store offers a variety of books and every inch is packed with their picks; however, I enjoy following their social media pages to stay aware of their events. The website is also full of information, including new books and pre-sales. Carmichael's is an intimate setting of taking turns to see a shelf or corner of the store. That's part of its character. The staff are nearby and ready to help. Street parking. Shop local - buy gift cards.

They have all sorts of different types of genres. All the books are labeled and well organized. Is digital media your favorite thing. Do you need to have something new? Perhaps something old that becomes new again. Has it been years since you played older platforms. They sell PlayStations of all ages here. They have the used games for them too! The staff here are knowledgeable about their products. If you cannot find it try the store employees. You can also find rare products here that are no longer available. They sell many different types of card games. Do you remember Magic the Gathering? Pokémon! Bey blades! They probably sell your favorite child hood products that you had in your youth. Again the media that you are considering is usually labeled with its price. This makes spending easy. The store is highly organized. It's huge with all the different genres separated. Step back to a CD or cassette tape. You might find something new to you that was once old. You're going to find something that makes you smile!

They have a superb selection of the things from books to music on several formats, more books, pins, magnets, stickers, and ephemera. I love ephemera. I really love the chance to buy something that wasn't mass produced or to give something a new life. I feel like this is a great way to have a fresh style (or your one from high school) or be a little unique. It kills me that you can buy similar shirts at the big box store and have no idea what it's about which tells me I'm old. Also the lighting in there is not oppressive. Why do people love to be under interrogation lights all the time? Fat Rabbit also features local artist cards/postcards which are a big part of my life. I am glad to have found post cards that do not require a mortgage on my least favorite nephew (or the naming rights on his first child). Most of all the people who work there are friendly.

I love getting one of those because you pick the genre and then get like 20 mystery books for $10 or whatever. Obviously it varies, but I think it's a great way for them to get rid of overstock of the smaller chunky sort of books. (readers will know what I mean) and it's a great way to get new books for a good price and there's a surprise aspect. I know they do boxes for romance, thrillers, and mystery, but I'm sure they have others. I've also told so many people about this, but you can get 45s (the small records) for $.10 each and they make great room decor. We really enjoy the children's section as we like to have books at our home for the grandchildren to enjoy when they visit. I tried to participate in the book buy back program for store credit, but found the payout to be so slim that I decided donating my books was a better option for me.
