I would not recommend this dealer. The owner would not return my $8500 deposit even though I didn't sign a sales contract or anything for that matter. Nor did I drive the car. SD consumer protection is useless. I wouldn't do business with this dealer at all. read more

I rate Mike Mendt zero honesty and a liar to the consumer protection dept. the Audi TT 2004 which I bought online thru Truecar's AD did not show the frontal photo with a broken front bumper cover. Yet Mendt showed his photo that the Consumer protection dept. as 'proof' that I was aware of this damage. Some customers praise his religiosity BUT on the day when he has to face St Peter at the gate , he will be cast away UNLESS he makes amend NOW to buy back the car. Was driving by as saw a green, nice, 2010 jeep 2d wrangler Sahara. Stopped in to test drive, and possibly buy, but he had it listed for 16,999. Before I even drove it I researched it a bit, and compared it to other similar similar jeeps in the area and, Kelly blue booked the value with all the jeeps info, options, and condition came back as 11,400. I asked the salesman what modifications were done to the vehicle to justify the listed price, he said it has a good stereo system, tires, a rare color or whatever, and it's a 1 owner car. We'll umm, in the blue book price, I had already added the additional options, and it came back as 11,400 on the high end in very good condition, so why is it so expensive? He could not tell me anything so he sent me to the owner and disappeared. I asked the owner the same questions, well tried to, but he became very rude and told me it's because he knows how much his cars are worth and he doesn't care what I or the market thinks. He said it's a nice stock jeep, with nothing done to it so it's a blank slate, and had only 1 owner and that's why it's so expensive, then he just continued being rude didn't even want to discuss the price, and made it clear that his vehicles are just apparently worth more then what the market says because he says so. POV I worked for 5 years doing vehicle valuations for insurance companies, it was litteraly my job to value customers cars and find the correct market value! If he would have negotiated we probably could have come up with a fair number and I would have bought it that day, because I REALY liked it, I had already spent 2 weeks looking at other jeeps that I didn't fall in love with right away. Very sad that instead of negotiating with me, and being professional, like any other dealership that I have bought from, he choose to tell me he did not care and basically to leave. read more

Two months ago I bought an all original, factory plastic under the floor mats, 2006 BMW 325 Ci with less than 100k miles on it from Empire Auto. I'd like to begin by saying that I absolutely LOVE this car. Since buying it, I've driven five thousand miles in less than two months and I have no intention of stopping, value be damned! I'm going to drive this until it disintegrates under me and I'm on the pavement. With regard to Mike and the guys at the shop, I found them to be awesome. Mike made me a great deal with terms I found comfortable and every time I've had a question (because it's a German car and I've never owned anything that wasn't American before) he's done his best to find an answer for me...versus the 2k the BMW dealership would charge me to find out. Not only would I recommend these guys to my friends, I already have. My next automotive purchase? Already know where I'm going and look forward to it. NEVER spend money here. My car broke down on the road 1 week after buying and the owner was a complete jerk to deal with. He lies on the title for mileage so the 30 day/1000 mile warranty is almost expired before you get a chance to drive the car upon taking it to a shop I was told he hadn't even given the car a basic tune-up.
