They told me a lot of people turn it off not knowing. I was thankful that it wasn't any major. I wasn't happy that they charged me an additional $60 for labor. $180 for being at my house for less than 5 min. Then had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to clean my furnace for $412. Here's why: From the replacement of our heat pump in 2017 or 2018 (I can't remember), we have never had a job done that didn't require a follow up because of a mistake or an oversight in the service. Most recently, our heat pump wasn't switching back and forth from heat to cooling with the changing season. We called to get service. I was at work when the technician arrived, but he charged my wife over $100 to replace the air filter claiming that was the problem when we had mentioned in the initial call there was a problem with the compressor. It wasn't the air filter. The problem continued. On a return visit, I recreated the problem for the technician (incredibly nice guy, for what it's worth) and he came to the conclusion that a piece in the compressor needed some lubricant. The store to pick up that lubricant was closed, so he would pick some up and return another day. We never heard another word. So why three stars? My heart says this is a 2 star review. The guys do know what they are talking about, and, judging by other reviews, we seem to be an anomaly. It is why we continued to give them chance after chance for the past 5 years. I am tacking on that bonus star because the technicians that come out are incredibly nice and always answer my questions when I have them and I like that quality. Unfortunately life is getting just a little too busy to keep following up every time they come out and the job isn't complete, so we're going to look for someone who will get it right on the first try.

I called as soon as I realized what was going on at 2 am but heard nothing. I then proceeded to call all 3 numbers listed for the company and sent text messages throughout the day without a single response until 7:30 pm! By this time the temperature had dropped to 58 degrees inside my house and I left a message informing Art of this but that was not enough to get me a call back let along a service call. I had to call another company to do an emergency call and pay $120 to get some heat, which ended up cutting off again in the middle of the night. The next morning Art sent me a text (he did not even have the decency or respect to call me) stating he would be coming over later that day, when I pressed him and asked when exactly, he told me he would come sometime after lunch when the snow stopped (did I mention that it was snowing and was below freezing at times and he saw no problem with delaying the service call until it was convenient for him, despite me reminding him that I have an infant in the house). When he finally came he offered no explanation or apology for failing respond to an urgent situation since the day before. When I pressed the matter he just said nonchalantly that his phone wasn't working the day before. It's nice that the estimator put little sanitary slippers on his shoes when he walked through my house but when he tried to sell me a "whole house surge protector" for $550 and charge another $440 just to diagnose the problem, I quickly understood how they afforded all those employees. Finally, I called Tony. He was in center city working at Dillworth Plaza doing electrical for the Christmas Village. He came right over to my house after he wrapped there--and immediately went to work trying to diagnose the problem. He then provided a very reasonable estimate to run new lines from the panel in the basement and get my outlets/lights/home back to normal. The job was pretty complex... he and another guy had to cut into a few walls and drywall them back. Along the way Tony kept me posted via text, sent pictures of their progress, and was available via cell phone.
