Extremely disappointing experience…read more I've been a member for a while, and the overall experience has become extremely disappointing. The gym consistently fails to open on time, despite having advertised operating hours. This has happened repeatedly, sometimes by 15-20 minutes, and it's incredibly frustrating to show up expecting to work out only to find the doors still locked. On top of that, the gym is frequently dirty and poorly maintained. Equipment and common areas often don't feel properly cleaned, which is unacceptable for a facility people are paying a membership fee to use. What makes the situation even worse is the management. Communication has been inconsistent, and the attitude I've received has often come across as rude, dismissive, and inconsiderate. Rather than taking legitimate concerns seriously, issues are often downplayed instead of being addressed. Members are paying for a service and should be able to expect basic things like a gym that opens when it says it will, a clean facility, and professional, respectful management. Unfortunately, this gym has repeatedly fallen short in all three areas. Management needs to take member concerns seriously and actually address these ongoing issues instead of dismissing them.

From my past experience with personal trainers, Alan stands out as THE BEST one I've ever had. He took the time to understand my fitness goals and tailored the workouts to meet my personal needs. While we met only once a week for an hour, he kept me accountable throughout the week as I had to take a picture of EVERYTHING I ate and send it to him. He also checked-in with me on my stress levels (where at times, were pretty high), and the amount of sleep I got every night. Because of Alan's holistic approach (physical, nutrition, stress-management, and sleep), what I thought was impossible when we started became a reality almost seven months later as I was able to not only reach my goal weight but GO BEYOND it. YEAAAHH!!! We did it...TOGETHER!! Thanks Alan! Before I trained with Alan for 30 sessions, I also trained with Eric for 10 sessions. Eric was great in making sure the workout/movements/weight-lifting that I did was not causing any physical injury, which is common for any athlete. He also made sure I was feeling the muscle(s) working and wasn't doing the repetitive motion mindlessly--these were lessons that I took with me when I trained with Alan. Although I did not feel Eric was a right fit to help me reach my fitness goals, he is a trainer that I would recommend for someone who is already a personal trainer looking to improve their own training or getting back to working out after an injury. I am grateful for Eric's part of my fitness journey! Lastly, I want to mention the InBody machine at FITting Room Fitness Studio. You stand on the machine and it gives you a breakdown of your muscle, bone, fat, and water weight. You are also able to see your how much muscle you have on your right and left arms, trunk, and legs. The assessment is insightful because you can see the breakdown on how much muscle, bone, and fat you have in your body and how much weight you need to lose and muscles you need to gain. Remember, your weight is more than just a number! When I went on a cruise last year, the fitness guy was promoting the InBody assessment for $149 USD per person but as a discount for attending the fitness seminar it was only $99.99 USD for two people. I am so happy I got to do this assessment MONTHLY for FREE as part of my training. This alone makes FITting Room Fitness Studio stands out as a premier personal training studio. And... in case you were wondering, the fitness studio and bathrooms are clean. ;) Happy Training!

He cares about his students & takes his time to make sure that we are doing it correctly so that we don't waste our time and to ensure that we do not injure ourselves. He is very high energy which feeds off to the rest of us & we feel energy moving through us while doing his Combat & Pump class. Even before entering the group ex class & upon entering the gym, I am always greeted with a friendly and warm smile from Prabhjot! He always makes me feel welcomed, listens to any questions or concerns I have with care and he is just such a nice person to be able to see and interact with the moment I arrive at Goodlife. I love my chats with him! The one small complaint I have is the Recovery Room that has a couple of very good massage chairs in it. That room is always busy and it is very difficult to get access to one of those massage chairs. People don't care and will keep it on repeat even though they can see that others are waiting for the chairs. It would be cool if there can be a scanner attached to it somehow to start the machines based on your membership and can only be scanned a specific number of times within a certain time. I can't speak for any other areas in this location but I do notice that it is an extremely busy location during prime times such as after work.

I thought my LA Fitness membership would get me in. It had never failed me in the USA…read more Unfortunately, LA Fitness memberships doesn't cross borders. As soon as I scanned my barcode, the alarms went off telling David the manager who was there that morning to inform me that my membership was not good at his club. Interestingly, even though my membership was not valid at his club, David was able to look at my membership profile and see that I am a longtime LA Fitness member and was able to allow me to workout at his club. This Markham club was comparable to the Diamond Bar, California club that I normally workout at. LA Fitness considers this club a Premier Plus Club...whatever that means. My regular premiere club and this club were basically the same, except mine in California provides towels for me. It was less fancy than their Signature Club in Irvine, CA, where their headquarters are at. They had treadmills and ellipticals that were equipped with a TV screen for you to watch. They had free weights and machines. Most of the equipment worked, not like at some of the other clubs I've been to. The club seemed clean. Paper towels and sanitizer were available. No towel service at this club. The parking lot was adequate. I was able to find a spot. It's a good LA Fitness gym. I still don't know what a premier plus club is. It sounds good, but, it is no different from a regular premier club in the USA. Thank you David for letting me get my work out in.

Leila and Xiao are my favourites, they run challenging, welcoming classes that leave me feeling both worked out and mentally refreshed. I've also taken a few Hyrox Foundations classes, which are pretty intense, and great for building strength and endurance. I don't use the gym equipment much, but I do enjoy the recovery room especially the cryo massage chair after hot yoga, which is a great way to finish a session. The main downsides are how busy it gets during peak times and limited parking since it's shared with Loblaws. The yoga studio floor could also be cleaner, as it sometimes feels sticky.

Having this gym on West Beaver Creek allowed me an easy way to get there through traffic and a great escape from it on the way home. The facility was well taken care of when I entered. It didn't have the usual sweaty stench of most gyms. I enjoyed that the gym was more family based rather than the large chain. I find that a smaller more encouraging environment helps me a lot more than being ogled at the larger chain gyms. The vibe was very comfortable for me and my coach had been very knowledgeable of not only the exercises we were prescribed but our individual needs. I enjoyed his ability to deal with me as an individual while maintaining the group aspect of the classes. Since I've started training here, not only has my mother and cousin joined but my aunt as well.
