Im a photographer and had a time slot reserved for this week , I arrived 30 minutes before to scout the place which is common for photographers , spoke to the staff that was cleaning the event area and they were nice, I asked if I could look around to see the best places for pictures and they advised me on the best area , asked what time the my clients would be here and I said in around 30 minutes, they suggested I met them at the gate which was usually what was done , I went about to check the tree area and since I still had some good 10,15 minutes for my clients I checked at one of the wood benches they had , which was when my mom called ( she lives in another country ) and I went on talking to her until one man from the staff cut me off and said " excuse me , I didn't plan on doing this but these people reserved the whole place ( the party area I imagine which was were they were ) and you're not supposed to be there sitting down talking on your phone " then he proceeded to ask what time my clients were arriving and I say in a few minutes , and that was the end of the conversation. I got up and proceeded to the gate to wait for my clients in my car . In my view this was very unprofessional since if there was any impediment I could have been approached in a very different and courteous way ,which I completely understand since I'm a mature person, but that's not what happened . I would not go back and I would not refer this farm because of my first and only experience . read more

Emmerich Tree Farm is a cute experience for the kiddos but the tree is just not worth it. First of all, we walked for like two hours looking for a tree and had to settle for a pretty crappy tree. Once we got home we made the best of it and decorated but noticed right away that needles would immediately fall off....,,Oh man, we were not prepared for what was to come, we had to take the tree down right after the kids opened their presents on Christmas Day! We had needles everywhere, including my kids underpants, the tree was taken care of, watered and in a roomy space. Not sure what happened but never again, this was just sad. read more

We've been going here for the last 6 years at least: Yes, they charge $40 when you reserve a slot but it gets deducted from the cost of your tree purchase. The farm is nice and we'll maintained. Staff is friendly. Its dog friendly. It's not overwhelmingly full since they control the crowd with timed entries. They have people over by the parking to help tie your tree to the roof. Again, super friendly and helpful. Coming here is also a great way to support a local business. I suggest you read their website before visiting. It's a you pick farm. So you cut it, you haul it. It's a fun activity for the family. read more

We wanted an "imperfect" tree and man did we find the most perfectly, imperfect one! I will say it was a challenge, lol. Most of the tress are so beautiful. this was our second year, I have to say it just the most beautiful time. Regardless what people say about paying 40 dollars to "get in". The tree picking experience is just awesome. Really brings out the holiday cheer! People are very nice. Trees are great. The setting is on a mountain looking down at the trees, the workers are very knowledge and can tell you how to pick your tree and anything else you need to know. Yes you do pay a $40 deposit for your tree ahead of time, but it goes towards your purchase. They had a food truck this year and a little shop were you pay for your tree plus cute Christmas decor for purchase. We'll keep coming back every year for the cute tradition. read more

Headed there this weekend, 12/7, with my husband and two year old. They have hundreds of trees yet we couldn't find one to chop down! We literally walked the entire farm and weren't the only ones who had this issue as we heard from other patrons the same complaint. They were all either way to small or had large holes which could not be hidden. My husband cut down the tree and no one was around to help bring it up to the netting area. He dragged it up the hill and he bought it to one table but was told Was the wrong one and had to move it himself. This tree was $90! The hot cocoa was very watery which would have been the only silver lining! read more

Great selection of Xmas trees. You can choose a precut tree or go out to cut one down yourself. They will net it up & provide twine so you an strap it to your car roof. They sell the tree bases as well. It is a great adventure day out and you can sit in front of a log fire by the pavilion and have hot cocoa and a cookie before you start the journey home. Very disappointed. Apparently yesterday was their last day being open for the season. Only tagged trees were allowed to be cut. There weren't many to pick from and the ones that were tagged were in the worst condition. After paying a $47 deposit for our reservation we either had to use the money in the gift store, towards a pre-cut tree or cut one. It was not disclosed to us at the time of reservation that this was their last day being opened. My children were extremely disappointed. As was I. We were also told that what we saw not being tagged they were saving for next year? Really what about the paying customer in front of you. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. read more

This was our first year cutting down a Christmas Tree. The farm has beautiful views of Warwick. We were also able to catch the tractor to drive us up to the tree area, which was nice since my 9 year old daughter excited about the ride. The staff was overly nice, except for the lady in the food truck- she seemed like she hated life and was not polite or friendly at all. Our tree is about 4 foot tall, we ended up with a white spruce that costed us $60 dollars! I was not expecting it to cost that much, it's probably worth $15-$20.00 I've never hated a Christmas tree so much in my life. We've had this tree a little over a week and it's lost over 1/2 of it's pine needles. Every time you touch a branch needles fall off. I keep it watered and sweep around it 2 times a day. I'm guessing by Christmas it will look like the Charlie Brown Tree. I did not like how all the trees were mixed up in the fields. There was no way to determine what kind of tree you picked until you brought it to the guys to trim and wrap up, you also had to ask someone who was done with their saw if you could use it since there was a shortage. This wouldn't be a problem if we were allowed to bring your own saw, but you are not allowed. We wanted a Douglass Fur, and definitely did not end up with that. We also will not be returning next year. If we decided to try again for a real Christmas tree, it will be at a different farm where we can purchase the tree we want. read more

Their ability at managing increasingly hectic schedules while coordinating logistics for so many clients has always been a positive experience. This was our third year cutting down a tree at Emmerich. We cut down the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and put it up the following week. We kept it watered, but realized a week and a half ago the tree wasn't taking any more water. The tree was completely dead. It began dropping every single needle and when we finally took the tree down yesterday, half of the needles were off the tree. Thank goodness Home Depot still has trees left or we would have no tree this year. For $60 I could have purchased two fresher trees at Home Depot. I'm only giving one star because they have free hot chocolate and cookies which our child loves. Otherwise, I will not take another chance with this tree farm and will find a new one next year and continue my tradition there. read more

This place definitely caters to NYC. The owner wrapped our tree he was nice. The first person that was driving the tractor ride back to peoples car ignored us and was just plain rude. The second guy the ended up driving us was nice. They seem to not have enough people working there. The trees are way overpriced at $10 a foot. If your looking for a tree over about 6' this is not the place for you. For $80 plus tips you would expect a better experience. There is nobody telling people where to go ect. Be aware you have to carry the trees up a large hill. Overall it was a bad experience and we won't be back. read more

After seeing an advertisement on http://emmerichtreefarm.com for plenty of big 7+ ft trees to cut, my family and I went this past Saturday to cut our own tree. It was a nice hike up the property path and despite the gloomy weather it was nice walking around the beautiful property. After walking around for about 15 minutes we noticed that thee were many trees about 7 feet tall but no "big" trees. This was a major disappointment but after speaking with one of the helpers we were directed to the pre-cut trees. I asked how fresh the pre cuts were and he said that they were just brought up from probably North Carolina and probably cut a week ago. I said I was concerned with needle drop and he said not to worry, these would be fine through the new year even if put right up in the house. Well, not even 5 days later, after watering regularly we already have needle drop! Big disappointment! read more

This farm is the pure epitome of false advertising. If you want to cut down anything bigger than 5 feet it is non existent. The website states that they have even 9 feet trees to cut down but that is totally false. All the trees ABOVE 6 feet are pre cut and shipped to the farm from North Carolina totally defeating the purpose. If I wanted a precut tree I wouldn't have drove from brooklyn to warwick as we have them on every single corner. If you are looking for a Frazier Fir, they are non existent here unless cut already. Ugh, our little tree was $67 (6-7 feet) I was shocked! But, it was beautiful! Gorgeous drive to get there and then amazing mountain views. Staff falling all over themselves to help you. Hot cocoa and cookies (at least that's free!), fire pit, and a food truck! When you walk through the rows of trees the aroma of oranges is in the air because the major type of tree they grow is the type whose sapp has a citrus smell to it. So many beautiful vistas for a nice family picture and nice families willing to snap a pic for u if u snap a pic for them. Hayrides right from your car and and then back with your tree. No pressure to tip, you just put what you can in a little jar where they wrap the tree up for you. Now that I've listed all of this the experience they gave our family was worth the $67! You only need money for the tree (they take credit card) and cash for the food truck. We didn't eat there, but I overheard that the staff voted for this food truck and the food is yummy! read more

This was our first time visiting this tree farm. We arrived first thing so there was plenty of parking and was still quiet. The farm itself is beautiful. Easily over a thousand trees to choose from. We were specifically looking for a 7'-8' tree and unfortunately there weren't many to choose from. The ones we did find weren't the quality we were looking for. The 3'- 5' trees were really beautiful and there was quite the selection. They also have a pre-cut selection so that is where we headed to next. This is where we found the 8' tree we liked. The first person we spoke to said the tree was cut the previous Wednesday, but then when we spoke to the person trimming our tree he said the pre-cut trees don't actually come from their farm- it's imported in and were actually cut much sooner. We were ready to pay and then found out the tree is $150- the ticket said it was a 9'-10' tree but when we measured it during trimming, it was actually 8'. We ended up not purchasing a tree here. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're looking to cut yourself a beautiful, nice quality, 3'-5' tree. read more

After searching for many years for the right place, we have been coming here every season for four years. We knew it was the right place when, our first year, we got there about an hour after closing as we were coming all the way from Queens. Nevertheless, Kurt, one of the owners, and his staff went above and beyond by welcoming us and giving us a private, after-dark tour of the grounds. Each year, the Emmerichs add new, tasteful additions to their business, growing it more and more into a Winter Wonderland of Holiday Cheer! After you park, a tractor ride will bring you up to the pavilion where you can get (free!) hot cocoa; buy some Christmas wreaths repurposed by Karen, the other owner, from the leftover tree branches; warm yourself by an ever-burning fire; or patronize the new fancy hot dog food truck (veggie dogs too!). Then it's on to selecting and cutting down your tree from the acres of diverse trees on the Emmerich property (they have pre-cut ones too, but what's the fun in that?!). Kurt's hospitality is top-notch, and it's a pleasure every year for our family, marking the start of a new holiday season. Sunday the 6th was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere, and their time with the trees.
