The worst experience ever with childcare! I went in to the school today to meet with the Pastor of…read morethe Church to be greeted with hateful tone and told "because of your behavior, we are dismissing your child from our school". I had entered the school with an open mind and a few suggestions on how we could resolve the issues we are experiencing with staff and students within the school. At 3 months old our daughter was only drinking formula. In review of their Brightwheel app, I learned they had only fed her 2 ounces of milk in a 8 hour time frame. When I learned of this, the Director and the teacher stated they thought I only wanted her fed when she became fussy. We have had ongoing is issues with the staff not putting a bib on her, which we provide, stating they did not want to cover up her cute clothes. In the meantime, I am constantly buying clothes due to their negligence. My daughter is now 19 months old and over the past few months she has been bitten multiple times, to be told it was just a scratch one time and other times to be told it's unavoidable and it happens. No plans in place to control this! I then learned on their APP that she hit her head, they applied ice and put her down for a nap. No one called me for almost an hour to let me know this even happened and why would they lay her down for a nap after hitting her head?!? The Director - Zelda told me that she would have a meeting with the teachers and that she was concerned that they had not communicated to me sooner and was concerned that they put her down for a nap. When I told the Director that my daughter could have possibly not woken up her, she said your right, this is a training opportunity. Once in again review of the APP, we learned that they forgot again to feed our daughter and meal that we provide. Also forgetting that we bring 3 sippy cups to school for our daughter, just to have 2 returned full and 1 empty. When questioned, the response was, oh her cups were in the fridge and we forgot about them. So now you are not letting her have a drink? She drinks all day long. Constantly coming home sick from other kids not being cared for properly with green snotty noses, gunk all over their eyes, practically keeping their eyes closed it is just disgusting. I was constantly being told, it is hard to find good staff, by the Director. They have taken pictures of my daughter and tag on their app, however, when you look at the picture, it's not my daughter! They took time to take pictures of my daughter and tag her in, yet she had snot running into her mouth! They did not clean her face until I instructed them to do so. Last week a toy was thrown at my daughters face, leaving a nasty mark under her eye. It could have been her eye. I called the school to inquire about this toy and as to why sharp objects were allowed. They did not consider the toy to be harmful. Yet, it broke skin on my daughters face. My daughter also has a scar by her left eye due to a table that does not have a corner protector. Today when I went to speak with the pastor, I met him in the office and you could tell he had an attitude. Instead of saying good morning or hello, he said very abruptly, Sit there! He then said due to my behavior he was dismissing my daughter from the school and handed me a bag of her belongings. I simply wanted to resolve or find a way to fix the issues instead you kick out the kid because her parents are concerned? BE AWARE - very AWARE - when our daughter was an infant and infant 1 room, the teachers would be in the back talkin, singing or gossiping while your infants were being walked on by other kids in the room until their teachers came in to get their students. Many times I would stay in the room until all the other kids were gone. Prior to leaving the office today the Pastor Jamie said very harshly to me, I see that you have a balance on your account and you will need to pay that today or you will be turned over to collections immediately. Of course there is no challenge in paying my bill, however him threatening me is outline for a Pastor of a Church. Yes, my bill is paid in full, however, I think a change is his approach and demeanor needs to be held accountable for and sure hope this is not how he treats the few people whom actually attend his church!

Since graduating from William and Mary, I have served as a teacher, an administrator, and a board member. One area Summit excels at is student-teacher relationships. Year after year, our graduates leave our doors with extreme gratefulness for the relationships they've established with both their peers and their teachers. I strongly believe Classical Education is the best model around and I am so grateful for the solid education I received at Summit.

Our daughter did not give us all the details until three years later when it came out in counseling. However, she had gone to the principal repeatedly. We initially left because she was having panic attacks, we have since learned the panic attacks were happening because of how unsafe she felt. I have heard that the male student was finally kicked out after two classes of girls came forward refusing to attend Prom with this young man. Only then did the school respond but it was too late for our daughter. We really loved this school but now realize they are not prepared to handle the larger issues in modern days that will continue to come their way. Ignoring problems only hurts people and does irreversible damage.

He actually got to go to school 3 times before the decision was made to not to let him come back. Apparently he had a hard time transitioning from one activity to the next ( something that I thought would be taught while in preschool?) It was suggested I look into a child study as well. I was made to think maybe something was wrong with my son. I decided to give another preschool a try ( a real Christian school). It took a few days but he eventually got into a good routine. He has done so well that I realized it wasn't my child... it was the lack of care and unwillingness of not one but two teachers ! I am sorry but there is just no excuse . Our new school has been around for over 30 years and expressed to me how in all that time they have never turned away a child. that's when I realized I wasn't dealing with a Christian School that actually wanted to help children. they are more interested in collecting what funds they can without having to put in much effort and that is just sa.. my son was not given a proper chance. I would not recommend sending a child here.
