My son went to this school for 1st-half of 3rd grade. 1st grade was great, he had an amazing…read moreteacher and he had an IEP in place. At the end of the school year the special ed team convinced me that we could drop his IEP because he was doing so well. I didn't know I could decline to drop it and realized once it was too late. I spent the next two school years fighting for any kind of support for my son as he struggled daily. I had countless meetings for an IEP, and kept getting told he didn't need any accommodations and that things were fine. Meanwhile, he wasn't getting any school work done, he was eloping from class regularly and they were suspending him weekly. It got so bad that we were assigned a case worker from the county who mentioned a 504 plan which Hunter B. Andrews refused to give unless he had a diagnosis (I consulted with a special education advocate and learned that this is NOT true, you do not need a diagnosis for a 504 plan but it can help) Instead of working as a team the school ultimately decided it was easier to suspend my son indefinitely than find a way to help him succeed in the learning environment. Finally in October 2024 after they suspended him for 10 days we pulled him from school with the plan to homeschool. Shortly after we received an opportunity to move to FL. My son started school in FL at the beginning of 2025. He was diagnosed with anxiety which his pediatrician said probably got worse with how Hunter B. Andrew's treated him. Within a month of starting school he was given a 504 plan with minimal accommodations (extra test taking time, chunking up his work, breaks if needed and THATS IT) Apparently that was too hard for Hunter B. Andrew's to manage. My son is now succeeding at school and loves going. He is doing all of his work including advanced work to prepare for 4th grade. Today was his end of year awards ceremony and this kiddo got "come back kid" of the year. Others may have had an okay experience at this school but for us it was awful. We still struggle with some post traumatic anxiety from dealing with the administration and teachers at Hunter B. Andrews. If your child needs any kind of special accommodations I'd go to just about any other school than this one.

Okay so.i go this school, and from my experience currently, there's like an army of girls trying to…read morefight me,the school bathrooms are NASTY teachers suck especially the ones that randomly come in. I rate this school a ONE and only a one,a one because I also had teachers make me cry.and once I had a mental breakdown because of it. And after my teacher (last year) hushed me!then this year,a teacher tried to steal my phone. And also a teacher tried to keep my perfume...
