We send our two daughters (1 and 3 yo) to weekly classes here. We have been very happy with this school. Everything is very safe and organized. I love the waiting area that allows me to keep an eye on my girls during lessons. There's also a safety button to make use kids are on the right side of the door. The instructors work very well with the students. My 3 yo has some anxiety around water. Instructors are able to give her extra attention to help her become more comfortable with the water. My almost 4 yo son has some anxiety about swimming and has been coming to Emler for almost a year now. In the first class, he was scared to go into the water but with their help, he's gotten exponentially better and can even swim some pretty long distances. My 6-month-old at the time also took classes here and did very well. She really loves the water and she'll be back for more classes next semester. But the best part about this school is the staff. They've been so kind and accommodating making sure my children are comfortable and willing to participate on days when they've been nervous or upset. The staff and managers are professional and really care about your children and their safety which is so important when trusting someone with your kids' confidence in an important skill such as swimming. We moved here from out of state... looking for new activities for the kids, we passed by while driving around town & we're glad we stopped by to register all three of our kids! My youngest one (almost 3) is not with it & has cried the first two lessons thus far... and both weeks, they have been super patient & never handed him back to us or complained about my unwilling toddler. They are getting him to calm down to at least play in the water...still no swimming, but at least he stops crying to play... the older two... they are having the greatest time. they encourage your children, they challenge your children, and they some how got my two kids to be less afraid of water in two weeks! ...the teachers are great, staff is super supportive... and my kids are always excited to go to their next session! read more

We have been an Emler family for about a year now and couldn't be happier. When we first joined our girls were 3 and 6 and neither of them would even put their face in the water. Now they both swim like fishes and have excellent breath control! When we go to the neighborhood pool they love jumping in the pool. I absolutely love how Emler focused on water safety before anything else. One time I even witnessed our daughter fall in the pool at Emler and my instinct was to go inside and get her. The teacher looked at me and told me not to move, and we witnessed our little one do EXACTLY what she was taught to do if she was to fall (and of course the teacher was there for backup). It was truly amazing. Our little one mostly had Mr. Carter who has been nothing short of amazing. I was a bit skeptical on how my daughter would respond to a male teacher but she loves him so much and every time she moves up a level she is always hoping to have him again! My older one has had a few different teachers at each of her different levels and she has loved all of them. It was always so important to us that our girls know how to swim not only because it's an important skill to have but also because we will be getting a pool in our backyard and now we have comfort regarding their safety. We have been at Emler for three years, and this weekend we threw our kids' birthday party at the Flower Mound location. What a fun place to have a party! Everyone loved it! The staff was amazing. Kat and Michaela did an awesome job as life guards; they were friendly, yet firm, and everyone felt safe in the water. Frankie was the ultimate party host and even saved a pizza for my husband and me (we had little time to eat during the party). What an outstanding experience. My 2.5yrs old son did the fall semester lessons and went from just barely putting his head under water to swimming 12ft or 8 seconds unassisted. I now have 2 more kiddos also enrolled in the spring semester working on specific strokes to increase their endurance and form in the water. The teachers are excellent and make learning to swim fun! We have been at Emler for 2 years and absolutely love it! My daughter is 4 and is an outstanding swimmer! Makes it so nice to know that if she fell in the pool she knows how to get out! After each session the kids are required to jump in with clothes and learn how to climb out. Classes are small and instructors are always great with the kids! You would never know if they were having a bad day as they are a joy with those kiddos! They also have a swim team which teaches them competitive swimming. Lots of great things to say! We absolutely LOVE Emler Flower Mound. Michaela and Brittany are wonderful managers! We loved Callie (General Manager) when she was here too! The managers are always available on deck to support students and their families. When I had a small concern, they absolutely addressed it right away. My baby has been with them since he was 11ish weeks old and is now 15m! He can swim 10s under water kicking, can monkey crawl across the wall, jump in (with support), independently crawl out, self-rescue by pulling himself up on my shirt, and has so much fun on the different climbing areas in the water. He is so confident in the water and by the end of every lesson is just GIGGLING he had so much fun. This is a gentle and responsive way of teaching swim lessons, which aligns with our style of parenting. It is not ISR, which we are glad for! They also are super inclusive. As a parent with a disability, getting in the water with a baby can be intimidating. They adapted to help us have the full and inclusive experience. Jamie will do subtle check ins with me and it is not obvious what she is doing. It is just a really wonderful and AFFORDABLE place! read more

I have a son on the autism spectrum who couldn't swim and had just turned 8. I was actually very worried he would never learn. We tried every other local swim school with no success. So I was not at all hopeful when Elmer told me they'd have him swim soon. My thought was I had to keep trying and negatively, I thought "what can one 30 minute session a week really do?" My daughters (5 and 2) are finishing up their first semester at Emler Swim School here in Flower Mound. Paul, the site director, is always present and working hard at ensuring the facility is top notch. We look forward to coming each week and seeing what's been added or rearranged. It's clear that he sets the tone of safety and fun at the top! The girls' coaches, Chris and Paisley, it's hard to even summarize the appreciation for them. My oldest had a bad experience with neighborhood pool lessons last year, being plunged under water not knowing how to hold her breath time after time. Chris has been just the right balance of patient, encouraging, and fun, to help her overcome her fears. She's gone from not wanting to get her face wet at all, to now swimming 'eyes in for 10' with no hesitation! Paisley is amazing with the younger group, and has also helped a timid 2 year old go from not wanting to attend lessons at all (yet still participating every week, thanks to Miss Paisley's firm, yet always fun approach), to now scooting right in off the edge to swim to her because of the trust they've developed. It's clear that Paisley can decipher the toddler nonsense that often ensues with this age, and is willing to push them just enough to see if it's stubbornness versus true fear. She's comforting when needed. A perfect balance. It's pretty amazing to see these 2 year olds with no flotation devices at all! We started lessons again to learn basic swimming skills and pool safety, both of which are covered thoroughly each week in a consistent manner with repetitive songs, so that it's all becoming instinct for the kids. I am SO thankful I researched this time, and decided to give Emler a try. Their methods are tried and tested for decades now, but it's these coaches that take the methods and apply them in a way that is individual to each student's skill set and personality. That's really what sets them apart for me. Sure wish we would have been with them from the get go, and saved ourselves the setback (this is your future voice, telling you to not try to skimp on cost if you are able and just go straight for the Emler gold!). My husband & I enrolled our 4 year old daughter in Emler's summer swim program after visiting 2 other swim schools in the area and having an unpleasant experience. Starting off, she was scared to jump in by herself, scared to put her face & head under water, and was generally very nervous alone in the water. After a month, she is now able to swim independently without any floaties or assistance with her face & head in the water. She is also able to get out of the pool independently from the deep end. The instructors are all very child friendly, patient, and so kind. My husband & I are very proud of our girl and grateful to the staff & teachers at Emler, especially Ms. Callie! Thanks to her, our daughter loves swimming. Although it sounds like a lot initially, when you break it down, the classes are around $25 a session for 30 minutes, once a week. My husband and I took our 2 month old here to take advantage of the free water babies classes until he turned 6 months old; it was great! The classes are well ran with great teachers! Ms Victoria was great with our baby! We signed up for the next round of classes and are looking forward to it starting in January! Love this place...everyone has been great!! I can't say enough good things about Ian at Emler. My son (who was recently diagnosed with high-functioning Autism) was hysterical and could not make it through a swim lesson at another nearby swim facility last year. We switched to Emler this year, and Grayson absolutely loves Mr. Ian. He has gone above and beyond to bond with Grayson and try to figure out why he is afraid of the water. Unfortunately, he doesn't teach many classes since he is a manager, but we've so appreciated that he's taken the time and energy to not give up on our son and to try to make the water fun for him. Grayson still doesn't know how to swim and still gets upset about his face in the water, but I thought it was worth writing a review and if they can get him to have fun in class, that's progress! Consistency is hard since he seems to mostly only do well with Ian, but hopefully he will gain more confidence over time. :) read more
