Congress Ave. She had just started settling in, when less than a month later, the quarantine on long-term health care facilities was imposed. I originally selected Sonata because of the location to her friends and the fact that they are an LNS facility. I was looking towards the future and wanted to find a residence that would allow her to age in place, and could handle oxygen, should it become necessary. There is always an RN available as well. A very proactive community, Sonata tested all residents early on for COVID-19 and then a second time a few weeks later. It gave me great peace of mind knowing how safe she was there. The buildings interior is immaculate, modern, well-kept and free of any unpleasant odors. I have nothing but positive comments about the care my mother is receiving. Christine Cheeseman, Director, and her administrative team, are wonderful. They have been extremely helpful. All team members from maintenance, dining, housekeeping and nursing staff go above and beyond and have exceeded my expectations. They are very caring ,compassionate and friendly. They have done an outstanding job during this COVID-19 crisis. They are concerned about the resident's mental and physical well-being and have found creative ways in which to keep them engaged and entertained during this time of suspended activity. They have also made a point of maintaining an excellent line of communication between family members and Sonata via, email, text and phone calls. Mom seems very happy at Sonata South and I know she is going to enjoy her life there even more when activities and amenities return.

I feel this is a one-person-band and if you need something in between appt's, you will never reach anyone.

We registered online for the Covid vaccination and waited anxiously for an appointment. We felt…read morelike we had won the lottery when we received notice of an appointment at the Delray Civic Center. I had seen a news report from the first day the shots were being given at this location, and the news wasn't good: senior citizens standing in line in the heat for more than 3 hours before they could enter the building for their vaccinations. Yikes! Fortunately, the organizers made some adjustments and our experience was much better. We waited about 25 minutes outside as the line moved fairly quickly. Bottled water was provided for those who wanted it. Since we had pre-registered, the process moved quickly once we got into the building: confirm registration, get vaccination, wait 15 minutes to ensure no allergic reaction, and pick up a Chick-Fil-A sandwich and fruit cup on the way out. What??!!?? Yep, the nice people at Chick-Fil-A were providing this unexpected treat. Hmmm! What reward will we get after the second vaccine shot? Covid safety protocols were generally followed. People waiting in line outside maintained social distancing although not always the full recommended 6 ft. And inside the building, workers were guiding seniors through the process and telling them where to stand and sit to maintain safe distances. People arriving after us (after about 2:00) had an even shorter wait time. Overall, the process -- and the shot -- were as painless as possible!

Just had my Covid-19 vaccine. The Email system to register, once they got it working, was very…read moreefficient. I was very jittery when I went because of the hundreds of people that were there. I hope I don't get Covid-19 getting the vaccine!! When we registered inside, no one was 6 feet apart. People weren't obeying the signs and were dodging in and out every which way. I feel sorry for the people working and thank them for putting their lives on the line for us. They didn't even provide them with partitions. I don't believe the signs on the floor were 6 feet apart.  once I got vaccinated they wanted my to sit for 15 minutes in a packed room. I didn't feel comfortable doing that, so I left and sat in my car. Besides, it felt good taking off my masks. Thank God I had them on while getting my shot, one of them was an N95. On my way out, the line wasn't as bad, thank God. Now I have to go through this whole thing again at 4 for Mom. All this is worth it so that we can finally get Covid-19 behind us. Tip: Register to go later in the day. It wasn't as busy as the morning.
