As echoed by the previous reviewer, Emily's Steakhouse is tiny, so small in fact that we were a little early for our reservation and had to wait on the pavement while the table was re-laid! Seating for probably less than twenty, this place has a really good atmosphere. The staff were busy, but friendly and the menu is sufficiently varied. Starter wise, there was a good selection, I plumped for the vegetable samosas, tasty and just the right amount of spice. Other starters included barbeque chicken wings and deep fried mushroom profiles. Obviously at a Steakhouse it is prudent to have a steak, I chose the 10oz Sirloin, but there was a wide variety of steaks, including some monsters for those with a larger appetite. The steak was sublime and the pepper sauce was a good accompaniment, as were the fries and garden peas, nothing fancy, so as not to take away the limelight from the steak. The prices at Emily's Steakhouse are on the expensive side, which is not a problem when the steaks are this good. However, other dishes were equally expensive, but less impressive. My wife's salmon dinner just wasn't worth its inflated price, barely cooked new potatoes, fried salmon and a small amount of peas, just not worth £14. On the whole a mixed experience, if you like a good steak, it cannot be beaten, other dishes however, need some work. read more
