I frequent Emery's, usually to go and I'm never disappointed even when they're out of rice for the oxtails...how can I be, LOOK at the Oxtails. They did give an extra side as a replacement. Let's get back to the oxtails...Delicious, Fall off the bone, Perfectly seasoned and cooked! Macaroni and Cheese was cheesy and decent. Greens were flavorful and cooked just right! The sandwich was loaded with sausage! Egg was cooked perfectly. And the bread-- Emery's is not skimping out on the bread. They use Genova rolls and buns; if you haven't had Genova bread, you don't know what you're missing. Think of it as a soft and fluffy meat cradle. Bbq Sandwich meal was a lot of food! Tri-tip was sooo good. Great food and even better service. I was visiting Stockton for the day & stopped by this place for lunch & was greeted really warmly by staff. I was attended to right away & service was fast. There was a small hiccup with my food (no big deal really) and staff went above and beyond to compensate for it. I travel up and down the state a lot and love greens but am always disappointed by bbq joints-- often taste bland and feel like anything afterthought . These were the absolute star of the show. Perfect texture, flavorful, good amount of turkey in there. Just perfect. I bought some home for my bf & he agreed! They were very generous with the potato salad, which I appreciate as a huge potato salad lover-- it did not disappoint. There's seems to be good amount of egg in too, so it's very filling too. Ribs were very tasty, as was the brisket. I love the sauce. The meat could have been a bit more tender but honestly the flavor and service of the food makes it hard to feel like anything was lacking. Well I was on my to the Apple Festival and changed my mind. Decided I would get good and go home. Looked on Yelp for some place close. My daughter came up with this place. She said it use to be a truck. I been in Stockton for like 17 years and never had BBQ here. We don't eat beef or pork so we stop going to BBQ places, most times the chicken is dry and they don't have turkey. Anyway! The potato was delicious. The chopped chicken was seasoned to the nines. Reading the reviews I got the sauce on the side. My daughter got the loaded fries. She said it was so much sauce it over powered the fries. Next time she will get some sauce on the side. She was hoping for crispy fries. I got two potatoes and full order loaded fries. It hit for about $86 with tax and tip. It's definitely a treat from time to time. I read a review that they have turkey but no details. I would love to have some chicken wings or smoke turkey next time. The place is pretty big with a long bar. Custom service was good as well. We got food via DoorDash. Everything was still hot when it got to my house, about 10 minutes from when it was picked up. For sides we tried the fries, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and beans. The sides were so solid, I knew the meat was going to be even better. Meat we got ribs, chicken, and tri tip. That sauce was delicious and everything was so tender. My wife got a blt and she said it was amazing, the garlic Aioli was one of the best she's had. Absolutely delicious and seasoned to perfection. The Mac and cheese absolutely did NOT taste like it was from a box. It was cheesy and had a little kick to it. The strawberry cookie was bomb. Banana pudding... you guessed it, bomb. The only small critique was someone was very heavy on the salt on the fries that came with my daily special. But that's a small mishap and I still give this place 10/10. Welcomed in by the owner, very friendly and personable. Sounds like he had a successful food truck business and recently opened up this brick and mortar in downtown Stockton. We were in town for a show and this was recommended from a friend who saw them on IG. I'm always down to support black-owned, local, mom and pops shops. They named it after their adorable son who was riding his little corvette around the dining room. We ordered the 3 way ($40) with ribs, tri tip, and a hot link, and the 3 sides we chose were collard greens, Mac n cheese, and potato salad. Ribs were fall off the bone tender. Mac and cheese was delicious but wasn't served hot enough. Greens had great flavor, tender leaves, and cooked with smoked turkey (?). I didn't care for the potato salad. Flavor was off but good texture. Tri tip had good charred flavor but was served chopped up. Not used to it served like that and would rather have it in whole slices. Hot link was very mild and also sliced up. Again, would prefer it served whole because I felt like I was eating cut up hot dogs. The meat was covered in bbq sauce. My bad for not requesting the sauce on the side. Sauce was good, but It would be nice if they offered a spicy and a mild. Overall, service was great; food had some hits and some room for improvement. Alrighty. Well the banana pudding is delicious and kudos to that recipe, it's like crack and makes you want more. The Tritip we got was cut up, I'd prefer it be in strips instead and whatever they put on top tastes more like ketchup not a bbq sauce but the Tritip was ok minus the sauce topping. This was my first visit to Emery's today June 6, 2026. I was referred by a friend who said the food was delicious. I loved how polite the staff were and the atmosphere music was a great plus. We were comfortable and decided to eat there. Great choice. Meat tri-tip beef links and chicken was seasoned really well. Mac n cheese oh my god moist creamy so tasty. $123 for this order was absolutely not worth it. The food quality did not match the price at all. It makes it hard to support small businesses when this is the level of service and food being provided. The chicken sandwich was dry, overcooked, and tasted like it was fried in old oil. The chicken and fries were the same burnt and heavy with that old oil flavor. When even a toddler wouldn't touch the fries, that says a lot. I specifically requested no BBQ sauce on my baked potato and asked for extra cheese, sour cream, and butter. Instead, I received an undercooked potato covered in BBQ sauce exactly what I asked not to have and none of the extras I requested. The mac and cheese was overcooked, dry, and oily (the oil had separated). The potato salad was okay but needed more mayo to even be enjoyable. For those prices, the food should be fresh, properly cooked, and made to order. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that. I won't be returning Edit to reply to the owners response: Actually the they that took our order said he was adding it in manually. I noticed the same thing and asked him to make sure no BBQ sauce. It possibly could have been that he was so overwhelmed with such a big order and having to manually add things and edit things. First time here but we love the location with clean well stocked bathrooms and a great outdoor seating area. The lady who helped me was super nice and I appreciate so much that she called me right away when an item I ordered online was out of stock. We ordered the Fat Back Burger with fries and a kool aid of the day. We also tried the banana pudding and a strawberry crunch cookie and a monster cookie. Let's start off with the kool aid is a certified banger! Best kool aid from any restaurant we've tried that has kool aid- don't be too good for the kool aid you will miss out! Next thing I noticed was the French fries - they were fresh and crispy and well seasoned y'all!! The burger was loaded with bacon, hot links, Swiss and American cheese and Mac and cheese all on top of double burger patties with bbq drizzle!! I love that this burger was so well made and even though it was fully loaded we were still able to cut it in half and eat it without making a mess - execution matters! We love that this is a family business and we had a chance to talk to the proprietor and we are happy to support this business. Food was absolutely worth it. However, my boyfriend and i witnessed a blonde woman talk down to her employee in front of us. She told him to close the door, and as he was carrying a bbq in, she walked back over and told him to close it again, very rudely. As if his hands weren't already full.
