They are always on time for pick up, have the friendliest old men bus drivers that make who just want to squeeze their cheeks they're so endearing and use clean and fairly modern vehicles. I have a theory that they have such good ju-ju because the JC stands for Jesus Christ (not that there's anything wrong with that), but either way, they are a great company. So if you now have FOMO that everyone is going on Magical Mystery Tours and you're not, then never fear JC Mini Buses are here! Just make sure you have someone on board who is good with directions and has a Telstra connection so you can Google Map the hell out of where you're going.

Now if you are living here and you don't have a bike how would you feel if I told you there's one available to you during the day at FREE CITY BIKES? All you need is either a drivers license or a passport - and if you have not got either of those you need to get a proof of age card from the Department of Motor Transport. You are able to go in with your suitable ID and basically take out a bike in good working order, a helmet, because you can not legally ride a bike here without wearing a helmet, and you can go for a healthy bike ride along a decent bike track - how about that! The bicycle track network around the city is pretty good and there are so many places you can get to without really using all your energy, I couldn't encourage you more! You do not have to be a tourist to use this great initiative made available by the Adelaide City Council and Bikes SA. You can join Bikes SA if you would like to - just collect the details at the pick up spot next door to the Central Bus Station on Franklin Street. Check it out - one of the best kept secrets in Adelaide and a really healthy one at that!

When I first got here, I wished someone had told me about this, because Adelaide really is a great city to bike around. Located just opposite the bus station on Grote street, you can catch a bus into the city or park in Chinatown before heading over and grabbing a bike. If you have friends who are new in town or you and some friends are out of ideas of what to do, get some bikes and cycle along the Torrens river until you reach the beach, which is roughly a 40 to 45 minute bike ride and very straight forward. Their bicycles are in good condition and they lend you helmets and locks as well so that you can park your bikes at a destination while you have a look around or head somewhere to grab a bite to eat. One of the best ways to experience Adelaide and to get some exercise as well. The last time I rented a bike from them, it was to show a friend who'd flown in for a few days quickly around town. It really is enjoyable, especially when you're someone who has come from a city where the roads are not bicycle friendly and the air is just rank with pollution. It is a nice change and Adelaide has some beautiful scenery which I take for granted way too often. When I'm thinking of a fun free way to spend the weekend on a day with good weather, I think of Bike SA.

Actually, I was going to make a comment that I never realised that this station was here, despite living in the area, that is until I realised that it was actually closed when I was living in the area. Okay, it isn't much, and it never really has been much, but hey, at least there happens to be a railway station, so you can get into the city somewhat easier.

We were so excited to go on our first Ghan train trip -- which departed Adelaide from the Parklands…read moreterminal at noon that day. First the check in was pretty painless. We drove up to the front behind one other car and the staff helped With our bags. Then went into the terminal and went to the Gold line. Only one person in front of us checking in. Checkin was done within 8 min or so. The folks had the terminal all fixed up with mimosas, coffee and tea, cookies a few sweets and live music. There was plenty of seating for waiting passengers and a small gift shop with Ghan items such as tea towels, t shirts, wallets, magnets and more. The train pulled up about 30 min before we got on. The steward assigned to our car greeted us and helped us put our carry on luggage in our sleeper car. I love that they had the welcome aboard mural so u can take a picture with the train before you get on. It has some beautiful colors in it. All-in-all it was a well designed and comfortable terminal to wait to board the train. Good job!
