Huge recognition to the entire team at Retro Fitness in Tappan! The customer service is outstanding, and the staff always go above and beyond. A special thank you to Maddie (spelling?), Chastity and Bridget for always being so friendly and incredibly helpful. I've had exasperating experiences with Retro Corporate billing practices in the past, and they've facilitated this for me professionally and expeditiously. An extra shout-out to Pat (he runs the show at night) who consistently goes out of his way to accommodate members and is always willing to help with a smile. His dedication and positive attitude do not go unnoticed. In an area with such a competitive fitness market, exceptional customer service is what sets Retro Fitness Tappan apart. I appreciate you guys, thank you!

I have memberships in two other gyms as a perk due to a working arrangement. These memberships…read morecover my entire family. My son didn't care. His friends go to Retro, I begrudgingly set him up with a membership. The bonus? He can also go to the Retro in Pearl River. He loves this gym...which makes me love this gym, and now you can save time as I'm sure you will love this gym. Fantastic staff and everyone (even the other patrons) help, support and root for all, no matter your level of fitness. They will help you achieve whatever IT is that brings you to the gym. My 15 yr old son can easily throw me over his shoulders now... and I'm not small. Oh... one last thing, I have had one, so I promise you'll thank me after you slurp down one of their extremely yummy protein shakes! Enjoy the sweat! ...and the shake!

I've been a member for a short time and overall have had a positive experience. The gym is…read moredefinitely on the expensive side, but it's clean, well-maintained, and offers a lot of amenities for families. One of the biggest perks is the child care. They can watch your child for up to 2.5 hours while you work out, which is incredibly valuable for parents and has made it much easier for me to take classes and exercise consistently. The outdoor pool area is another highlight, especially in the summer. The pool and water slide make it feel more like a family destination than just a gym. I've taken two strength-training classes so far, and both instructors and fellow members have been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. My biggest complaint is the family locker room. It can feel pretty chaotic, especially during busy times. There are only eight shower rooms, and they also serve as changing rooms, which creates bottlenecks for families trying to get in and out. Parking can also be a challenge. It's manageable now, but I suspect it will become even more difficult once the outdoor pool season is in full swing. Overall, if you're willing to pay a premium, you get a clean facility, great classes, excellent family amenities, and valuable child care. The parking and locker room situation could be improved, but so far the positives outweigh the negatives for me

Life Time has now eliminated that benefit, and I was told my membership would cost $329 per month--more than double. This is deeply disappointing and makes staying at the club unaffordable for many longtime senior members. I would like management to honor existing members' discounted rates or offer a reasonable transition
