I have severe osteoarthritis and take Diclofenac for pain. The Dr said to go off the Diclofenac 7 days prior to the surgery because of the risk of bleeding. I complied. After the 5th day I was suffering. After the 6th day I could not walk. I took an Oxycodone left over from a shoulder surgery. And was able to call his office. I explained the severity of the pain I was in and asked for a scrip for 2 or 3 days worth of Oxy. He refused!! He told me to resume taking the Diclofenac?? He was willing to risk severe bleeding on the operating table rather than give a perfectly safe scrip for Oxy!! Even if I had agreed it takes 4 or 5 days to get back in my system. We had to cancel a surgery that I badly needed l. What kind of Quack would be so heartless?? Update: I received an AI Generated response to this post. They kept me, the spouse, well informed all along the way. Everything ran like a well oiled machine. Also, the hospital is easy to get to, with plenty of free parking. I've also gone there for an emergency I had, and received excellent care myself. Would highly recommend Carlisle Hospital to anyone needing to go to the hospital or emergency room.

From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely cared for and treated with kindness and compassion. The nurse who took care of me was wonderful and even brought me warm blankets to make me feel more comfortable. The CT scan staff were also incredibly nice, professional, and reassuring. I especially want to recognize Dr. Kent and Nurse Timothy, who were truly outstanding. Nurse Timothy is honestly one of the best nurses I have ever met in my life. He was caring, professional, patient, and exceptionally kind to both my husband and me. The way he treated us made such a difference during a stressful and vulnerable moment. Sometimes, emergency rooms can feel cold and overwhelming, but this experience was completely different. Testing started within 90 seconds of my arrival even before registration. Testing was thorough and detailed. Care was ex excellent and fast. Everyone I dealt with had a friendly bedside manner. While waiting for the physician, I stood at the sink running cool water over my hand for relief. The doctor eventually came in, looked at my hand from a distance, joked by asking if I had been "cooking something delicious," and said I'd be out soon to enjoy my dinner. The interaction felt brief and did not leave me feeling like my injury was thoroughly evaluated. Before I left, a nurse applied a light dressing and loosely wrapped my hand. During my visit, a senior nurse personally escorted us out because another patient who had previously been treated had returned upset and caused a disturbance that required local police to respond. I appreciated the staff taking precautions to ensure everyone's safety during that situation. The biggest disappointment came afterward when I received a bill for more than $5,000. Based on the explanation of benefits and billing information I received, my visit was billed at a very high emergency department level, despite my injury being a minor hand burn that required only a brief evaluation and a simple bandage. My son and I went out fishing one night, and let's just say with a big catfish hook, he caught my back quite well. The doctor on duty was awesome, and he remedied the situation painlessly. We both were laughing, and there's times in life, that all of us should. He was kind and skillful. A shame my Under Armor sweatshirt had to be cut off, so my son is on the hook for a new one. The nurses and front office staff here are super. This is where you should go, for fish hooks in your back, stitches, and the like. They can always stabilize you, and send you to INOVA Fair Oaks or Fairfax if needed. Lines usually aren't too long here. They have me hooked, and am grateful to the people here. It is very well run, professional, and a rare five stars of solidness!

At Penn Highlands we were greatly quickly, taken back with 20 minutes and seen by a doctor with 45 minutes from walking in the door. The space is brand new, clean, and shiny.
