    Carriage House

    Carriage House

Please read the reviews and look elsewhere for a remodeling company…read more -Premium Price -No Scheduling/Constant chasing required -No attention to Detail. Be prepared to make your own punchlists. -Poor quality. They will have to do it 2-3 times to get it right. -No Project Management. Not sure they know what that means. -Arrogant Owners. That is saying it nicely.

We just finished an entire kitchen / main family room remodel. Carriage House was the installer /…read moredesigner for all the cabinets. We would NEVER recommend Carriage House to anyone we know. We have built 2 custom homes, 1 semi custom homes and completed 2 renovations at the time of this review. Our experience with Carriage House was the worst experience we've had with any contractor we've used in all the projects we've done. To summarize our complaints, I would say the most frustrating thing has been the premium price point we paid to have design issues, install issues, timeline delays (that's a huge one), and just the sheer amount of punch list items. And then fighting to get them to give in and back their product and install has been frustrating. ISSUES: 1: Timeline - we were told the project would be 1-2 weeks. We didn't complete the project for nearly 5 months. There were install issues, pieces that were ordered wrong, missing handles, etc etc. Getting Carriage House to come out was always a challenge. They would come after a couple weeks only to realize they forgot something they needed or mess something else up that would need to fix 2 weeks later again. It was painstakingly slow with only one installer for a very large and high end install. A crew of 2-3 installers could have done this project significantly faster. 2. Design issues - the head designer did a poor job pointing details out that we might not like or be aware of in the designs. In the end, carriage house replaced / fixed many issues that were caused by not pointing these things out in the design phase. This caused many delays by having to re order different cabinets that were done wrong or were not explained to us in the design phase correctly. 3. Many details kept falling through the cracks unless we pointed them out. HVAC vents weren't cut out of the kick plates in our island. Restrictors weren't put on so cabinets kept hitting each other. Caulking / paint touch up wasn't done in places that seemed obvious, etc etc. 4. A countertop made of cabinet material was installed on some lower cabinets and it was a completely janky DIY look. There were random pieces of trim added to the edges to cover up gaps because the topper was measured and made to small. It looked worse than an amateur carpenter would have done. 5. The microwave installed with a very uneven janky cut below the microwave that was completely obvious and unprofessional. This wasn't fixed until we complained over and over about how bad it looked. Our ice maker was 15" and the hole they made was 18". They didn't figure out how to build it in so it wouldn't move around after install. This hole should have been 15" to avoid that problem. Specs were provided for the ice maker but they didn't make it accordingly. 6. Our punch list just got longer and longer after every visit and they would send the one single installer each time. He would be in our kitchen 8 hours a day each time he came and get a couple things knocked out. It was so frustrating wanting to use our kitchen but this project took so much longer than we thought and the punch list dragged on way longer than it needed to. 7. Customer Service was just not good. We struggled to get Carriage House to communicate timelines with us clearly. We couldn't get them to commit to getting people out to fix / finish the job. Conversations got heated often. There was a general lack of desire to be cordial, helpful, admit mistakes and apologize when they happened. In the end, the job did eventually get done which is why I am giving 2 stars. The product installed seems to be high quality and it looks nice in the space. If I could find this same product with another installer, I would have done that in a heart beat. Save the stress and hassle and find a different company to install the kitchen of your dreams.
