That's life in the northern Midwest. Things close when it gets cold. Anyway, I visited Lake City Mini Golf during the summer. It was bustling with people enjoying putt-putt. My family and I enjoyed a round of 18-hole miniature golf, which took us the better part of a half hour to complete. The course is really fun and has lots of different hazards and interesting things that kept my kids entertained. This is a small business, and there's putt-putt and only putt-putt here. You'll also find some ice cream bars and beverages in the cooler at the front desk. There's a small, covered picnic table by the parking lot, if you want to enjoy your lunch before or after your game. It's a nice place to stop and have some mini golf fun while enjoying the outdoors.

Whatever you want to call it, this little park is located near a lake, and has a sandy beach area, a shallow area for swimming, barbecue and picnic areas, a playground and a disc golf course. You can swim here, but there's no lifeguard on duty. At least, there wasn't one when I visited. This park seems like a good place to swim if you have young children, because the water is calm and the shoreline is shallow. This is a good beach to wade and splash in. We mostly spent our time at the playground, which is fun for kids and looks kind of like multiple tree houses. It also has slides, lots of things to climb on, and a playground equipment piece that looks like a boat. There's also a Little Free Library next to the playground. This is a fun little park with lots of different things to occupy a kid's time.

Our server was very nice and on top of things as it got busier in the restaurant. The chicken tender basket was good - typical for what you'd expect. The food was hot and fresh and seasoned well. I really liked the fries as they were lightly battered. The menu is a lot larger than I was expecting, with almost 10 sandwiches, salads, soups, and shareables. This is a lightly trafficked 3 mile loop across the road from Mitchell SP. There is a visitor…read morecenter with a dedicated and spacious parking lot. The trail is groomed and the path varies from forest floor, to gravel, to grass and then bridges and wooden platforms. There are 10 points of interest with point 6 being an out and back path to an observation deck over looking the wetlands. There is also a gorgeous path from 7-9 that I decided to take both ways to add to my walk distance. While on the trail you will see plenty of signage with maps and loads of awesome plaques offering information about the landscape, wildlife and plants you come across. Lots of insect activity so I'd recommend bug repellent before you venture in. Heads up: There are no rest rooms in the trail. I was amazed by the amount of birds, turtles (SO MANY TURTLES) and snakes I can upon while I walked. Dogs are allowed as long as they are leashed of course. Really awesome gorgeous trail.
