During the months, YES MONTHS I tried to make appointment to only have them postponed with unfulfilled promises of callbacks and reschedules. Yes I was given a lot of excuses that at first I believed, like I said, Nicole is very experienced with many sad stories about why and how she can accept your money but can not perform the service for month and month and can not return calls when promised. If I was the only person that had a poor experience with this business and this person I would just forget about the $120 I was scammed out of but when I called Living Social the customer serve person expressed the idea there were a lot of complaints. I've had skin issues in the past (and present and likely future) that I've been trying to keep control of and recently felt the desire for a facial that truly catered to my needs. And when I say "catered to my needs," I mean in a way that isn't just the company upselling me. I sent Cactus Glow a message on instagram (look, I'm a millennial!!) asking for a recommendation based on my skin type and my skin goals. After some questions from Chelsea, she pinned me to an Illuminating LED facial with a dermaplane add on, explaining how and why this would be beneficial. I thrive on that extra info. Sign me up. Day of, Chelsea met me at the door of Light Heart Coffee & Studios, where she led me back to her space. At the top of the appointment, she checked in to what medications and I take and whether it would cause an issue with the LED light, which was great. The table where I ultimately laid had a heating pad, the music was soft and comforting, the lighting was low. It really got my mind in the right spot for this soothing treatment. Every step of the way, Chelsea would softly explain what she was doing and occasionally check in on my comfort level. The whole thing was excellent. Especially the head, neck, and shoulder massage! I wasn't really expecting that, but boy did I appreciate it after a long, difficult day at work. Since my appointment was later in the day, she said she'd get me "ready for bed", which was honestly delightful. She had dermaplaned, did a deep facial cleansing and exfoliated, steamed my pores, did extractions, the LED helped to kill off bacteria, and finally beautifully layered on different products that made me feel so moisturized and amazing. Chelsea mentioned that she would normally also apply sunscreen, but not when the sun was down! After, Chelsea supplied recommendations on what to continue with when it comes to my face care and what to expect during the summer (wearing sunscreen!). She reminded me to visit my dermatologist to do a full scan checkup (I have melanoma in my family history) and she sent me on my merry way. I so appreciate businesses like this because I feel like a new person, ready to take on all my zoom meetings. I can say with certainty that I truly do look forward to my next appointment here.
