I have two shower surrounds and one tub surround that are ugly but in great condition. Do you reglaze or refinish?

Aloha, I'm sorry but the reglaze and refinish company went out of business after being here for 30 years. So far no one has take up the mantel on this, and unfortunately we are not trained in this area. It may be easier just to replace the surround

Aloha, Mike and his…read morecrew did a complete renovation of our 2 bedroom and 2 bath Kona condo over the past 2 years. We decided to break the work up in to 2 phases as the project had a natural stopping point and the unit is an active vacation rental in Kona Shores that we wanted to be available for several of our "regular" renters. Like other reviews have stated, we are extremely happy with the work Mike and his crew did for us. We give our full recommendation and will use him for our next project. To summarize some of the key points from our 2 experiences working with Mike, he is: - Highly organized and meticulous (provides very detailed timelines and itemized invoices. He also shares lots of pictures as work progresses) - A great communicator, who is responsive and timely (We've never had a contractor as responsive as Mike) - On time and budget - Does very high quality work - Brings good ideas when you hit unexpected challenges - Willing and happy to go the extra mile for you to see the job done right Please see the attached before and after photos of our project. They speak well for the quality of Mike and his crew's work! Mahalo Mike!

We had heard that about Mike and his company…read morebefore we started with him, but when we heard that our project was ambitious, we were not sure it would be the case with us. It was. Mike and his crew were terrific. Mike was wonderful with communication, keeping us in the loop, sending photos of the project, and helping us select items for our job. He was also excellent in follow up on a few minor items. We did not have to track him down; he stayed up with us to make sure they were completed. We also found him to be a straight shooter. Mike and his crew renovated our kitchen, our living area floors and added a closet. He stayed consistent with the design of our house, and even found the person who installed some of the doors originally. The quality of the work was excellent. He was creative, made good choices and helped us navigate the process. It is often hard to differentiate one contractor from another. Hence, this review. Mike stood out in every way that mattered. We are very pleased with the result and the process. We highly recommend him.

They transformed our 35-year-old white melamine and Formica kitchen to sleek, flat-panel wood cabinets, new granite countertops (our choice), all new appliances, and porcelain coated cast iron sinks. They did such a quick job of it, it was amazing. There was nothing they couldn't do; they didn't need to sub-contract anything. They were able to troubleshoot every problem that came along, and resolve it without fuss. They kept us informed daily. Communication was excellent. Clean-up was complete. The team was good humored, highly skilled, and sensitive to our need for privacy -- we were present for the entire project. Highly recommend this group for renovations, both minor and major. The biggest bonus? The cost was very reasonable.

I try not to buy into the "grade inflation" in online reviews, but this company gets a long list of…read more5 stars for every aspect of the work they performed. I'm going to be as specific as possible, so you see what I mean. This was a complex project. The house is gigantic, near the ocean, and built like a hotel. It has had very little maintenance since it was completed 35 years ago. Basically, all the windows and doors needed replacement. Greg, the owner of the company, is a smart guy with many years of construction experience. He is a tough negotiator in dealing with suppliers, and was able to keep costs down even lower than we expected. He has detailed knowledge about the pros and cons of a wide range of window and door brands. He told us honestly upfront how certain of our plans would be better if reformulated. For example, we wanted to remodel as needed to incorporate "big doors" facing the ocean. Greg introduced us to Service aluminum doors with narrow frames that slide and stack in one direction, so the opening appears to be very generous. (Those doors, incidentally, slide noiselessly with one finger. Also, the screens are literally invisible; we thought someone was coming back to install the screens, but they were already in place.) We're happy to say that every recommendation Greg made was right on target. Andre, the foreman on the job, is another smart guy, a certified engineer with a flexible and creative approach to problems encountered on the job. He worked in Germany for several years, and brought that country's high construction standards with him. Andre worked well with his crew. They seemed genuinely to like each other. There was no losing of tempers! Every time I looked out to see this group working, I thought well-oiled machine. The crew made fast work of the job. It was estimated by others to take 3 months, but they finished it in 3 weeks. Each step was performed competently, and checked to ensure there would be no leaks or wobbles. The crew had to level large sections of window banks, and they came up with solutions as they worked, so the product is perfectly level and straight. It also looks fabulous! The crew found mold under the trim on a sliding door installation, so they had to remove a sizeable section of the wall surrounding the door frame. They treated the mold and got the area ready to re-apply stucco and sheetrock. The repair is so good that it will not be visible. They found mold under the WTW carpet facing the ocean sliding doors. They pulled up a large section of carpet so they could remove/treat the mold. We now know that a whole carpet replacement is in our future. We wouldn't have known had they not been so thorough. As the work progressed, Greg checked in regularly to make sure everything was going as planned. Andre checked with us daily to make sure we were happy with the work and not inconvenienced. The crew cleaned up daily and then thoroughly at the close of the job. They kept noise to a minimum, and warned us in advance when the work would necessarily be loud. The work crew was remarkably well-mannered and good-natured. There were no bad attitudes. There was no smoking or trashing of the yard. The workers showed up on time on a regular schedule. Every worker had a high level of concern about noise and other inconvenience. Just as the job was being completed, I had to have surgery. When I got home, the crew presented me with a deluxe post-surgery gift basket! This wasn't a bribe; they already knew they were going to get a great recommendation. It was just further testimony to their excellence.

His job began with unqualified workers that would smoke weed every break ( I have 4 small kids at home). Everyday equipment, tools, compressor and even their radio would be left out and on; it was spread out every where.. again totally unsafe for keiki and animals. We literally were picking up razor blades out of the grass! Sloppy. This carried over to his craftsmanship. There are parts of our wooden deck pillars that rest on dirt, not on concrete or rock; definitely not to code and will rot within a year. Toe kickers everywhere. Huge gaps in the railings ( no wood putty could fill them). He broke our water spigot and instead of fixing it he drilled a hold into our sprinkler system and attached it from there. This in turn broke our sprinklers and we had to pay to have that fixed. His saws all made huge holes inside our house from careless cutting. There was significant water damage inside our home from leaving an unfinished roof exposed. He would show up at 9:30-10 leave at 2:30 after an hour and a half lunch. Messed up material orders every time. Seriously.. you can't make this stuff up! Plus! He walked off the job and never finished it!! We have had to pay for all the repairs and to get our job up to code. Thousands extra. Why did we pay him?? Because he threatened us, our business and our family! When we asked to make the repairs and bring the deck to code before his final payment. He stood on our deck yelling and making threats if we did not pay him that moment. All had been recorded and he has been reported. Very unsafe and scary. Hawaii Island beware! He is on Waikoloa Association watch list. Attached are some photos .. there's too many to photos to share but here are a few.

Half way through the project he wanted more money after I paid in full. He said to me "get someone else to finish it". He lied through his teeth, refused to finish and breached the contract. I could have sued him into the dirt, but decided I wanted the project finished and he could never pay me anyway after I win the lawsuit. He's got nothing. My net worth is 100 times his. In summary, he wrote the contract, refused to finish without more money, did shoddy work (the floor tiles are all loose now in both rooms because he failed to use hardiebacker), lied over and over, forced me to purchase materials I had already paid for, forced me to pay sub contractors I already paid him for, and did a horrible job that required several more outside workers to complete. In all, he screwed me for $30,000. I'll never forgive him. Each time I paid him per contract, within 30 minutes he was at the bank cashing the check (which was made out to him personally, as required, (not to his company). I wonder if he claimed that as income to the IRS and State of Hawaii??? What a scam! I can name three other people in Kona with the same experience now. We have a little club here of people screwed by Mike Ford. DO NOT hire this fraud. In my opinion he should never be in business in Hawaii. I filed a formal complaint, as did others, with the County, but it appears he still has a license to get others...

From the time of initial contact until today, I had a roof leak that penetrated my ceiling that evolved (with recent heavy rains) to two (2) ceiling roof leaks. Nearly every week and a half, I made contact with TDS in an attempt to assess/price the work. I was met each time with casual apologies and weak excuses of why I did not receive a callback, or why staff never showed up to assess the work to be done. I work for an affordable housing development company (likely the most reputable on this island) and have rarely come across such horrible service/bedside manner - service that I would absolutely not tolerate from any contractor conducting work for one of my company's projects. I have decided to move on as, only TODAY, TDS informed me that it would not even be able to conduct the work for another four (4) months. To not have the foresight of understanding a customer's immediate need (even after it had been clearly explained at the onset) is poor business manner and a major disappointment to say the least.
