I've been a patient of Dr. Rene's since his clinic intitially opened. I can say from personal experience and watching his clinic grow that it is well deserved. Dr. Rene is a kind, gentle, and LISTENING man who really cares about you as a patient and not only what is going on with you medically, but also what might be going on in your life that's causing exacerbations of your medical issues. Dr. Andy is a great guy too.
I can honestly say that there are VERY, VERY few doctors out in the world that I trust anymore and Dr. Rene Pulido is one of the few. He will always find time for you if you have more needs than usual that day, and yes, that can make him run a little late sometimes... but which would you prefer? A doctor who limits himself to 10 minutes a patient no matter what, or one who cares enough to listen for those days when you have those extra needs? I know what I'd choose, and I find he's always, *always* worth the extra small wait, if there is one at all. I know he's skipped lunch many a day to keep on schedule, and stayed way past his "getting off work time" to keep seeing patients that needed to be seen.
The fact that he still takes a few walk-ins each day for emergencies speaks highly of him to me, as well as the fact that he has his own insurance plan for people that don't have any insurance. His clientele ranges from the poorest of poor to wealthiest of all, and I think that also speaks to the care he gives; everyone still wants to see him regardless. I've been in several hard situations where he worked with me to make sure that I was taken care of, but has always been an advocate of not over-medicating and exercising and eating well to make sure you use a whole body method to achieve good balance in your life (but he doesn't harp on weight or anything either- which is refreshing).
The office staff is professional and polite (although in response to some of the other comments, yes, they can be firm because they have no choice but to be firm at times, because they don't make the rules, they just enforce them) and Kelvin in the pain management area in particular is on the ball. The Manager of Operations, Mr. Parades, is a nice man who takes care of any "lawyerly" type of issue, should they ever arise (for example, I was uncomfortable signing a new contract until he explained it to me better). The girls in the front (especially Nicole and Ciara) are just plain awesome and how they go so fast with so many patients flying in and out, I'm not sure. Amber, one of the MA's, is the best I've ever seen. The scheduling ladies are all kind (about 4 of them), work hard to get you in when you need to be seen, and the refferal coordinator in the pain management office, (whose name I'm sorry has escaped me), is just great. Really, Dr. Pulido and team do a fantastic job of only keeping the best of the best on staff.
I don't know. Maybe I feel differently than some of these other reviewers because I've been to *SO* many doctors that treated me badly (with a smiling face), and I didn't know any better because I was taught I could trust doctors. But I've been sick a long time now, and now I know a good doctor is always worth a small wait, and a wait should generally be expected for a doctor that's worth his salt. That's why you should arrive slightly early, and bring something to do while you wait. He offers free wi-fi, and he's up-front and honest with you; he doesn't order unnecessary tests; he never bills me for anything he's never done... he never asks for an x-ray or CT or whatever that isn't needed and has always worked with me when my insurance has been messed up. In my opinion, Dr. Rene Pulido has to be one of the very best doctors out here in Jacksonville, and I'm so thankful I found him. He's a blessing to me. read more
