Not only did Martin abandon us after writing up a contract to redo our walkway and stoop, but he prevented us from hiring any contractor to do the work at all this year because Martin's delays stretched into the November cold weather and falling leaves. I tried to get Martin to commit to a date on the contract, but he wouldn't. That should've been a clue. Then he made verbal promises over the phone, but the potential dates kept sliding. Promises, promises! The first few weeks Martin would answer his phone to schedule and reschedule our work, but then he abandoned all communication when we were attempting to finalize whether the work would be done either the following Monday or Tuesday. He said he'd call us the Friday morning before to let us know which day he could come. It was critical that we receive this information Friday morning so we could adjust our work schedules. How rude that Martin not only failed to call Friday morning to finalize the schedule, but he also failed to return our three messages we left for him throughout the day. He also failed to show up for the job. So now we're stuck until next spring, at which time we'll have to search for a RELIABLE contractor to do our work.
