Now, I have been taking my son ( who is 4 yrs. old) to Frank's barber shop for over 6 months. We left another shop because the barber would stop and talk and stop and talk causing us to have to be there longer than necessary. And my son would always come out with cuts on his head from being lined up. From the first time we went to Frank's it was a pleasant experience. We went to the first chair open which was Joshua in the 3rd chair. He was very patient with my son and got us in and out. He also took care to understand how I wanted his hair to look. I'm never disappointed. Now he's also cutting my hair and I get so many compliments from both men and women. I usually go on a Tuesday or Wednesday because there is less of a crowd. But Joshua is good about setting a time for me to come if I end up waiting until the weekend to include on Sundays. I haven't been to any of the other barbers but they all seem to do a good job and are all very respectful and professional. The atmosphere of the shop is perfect for me as a woman. There's no offensive language or music in there. It's just an overall great experience. This is your spot if you're looking around for the perfect shop.

This is easily the worst barber shop in Chicago; the barbers are very rude and unprofessional. I…read morewas getting my car fixed at a nearby shop. My brother and I decided to stroll down the street and get haircuts while we waited for the repairs. It was a Saturday. The shop was almost empty, with just two customers present. There were five barbers, two of whom were cutting hair while the other three sat idly in chairs, engaged with their cell phones. One of the unproductive barbers asked if we had appointments. I inquired if one of the three idle barbers could cut our hair, and they replied no, claiming they were all waiting on appointments. We then sat there for 45 minutes, completely overlooked by all five barbers. They all appeared to be on drugs, playing loud, vulgar rap music. I can't understand how this establishment remains in operation. How can you claim to be waiting on appointments if no one has arrived in 45 minutes?

It was ten minutes past seven and I was looking for a hair stylist to cut my three old sons hair…read more We've always gone to kid snips but my kid is petrified of the chair and will not get a haircut unless I hold him in my lap. I ruined two shirts from his haircuts because I couldn't get the hair out so I wanted to try something new. I found Ali's on Devon on the way to my moms house. Even at seven pm, the place was popping with men! I couldn't believe how many men were waiting to get a haircut at that hour but that should serve as a testament of how busy they are! Anyways, I parked my car and went inside to ask if they would be willing to cut my sons hair and they said no problem. I sat down to wait for someone to take him when I saw a police car pull up in front of the shop, apparently I had parked on a bus zone and so I went outside to repark. There was a member of the staff from Ali's outside coming back from getting something to drink and he reminded me that I needed to park a lot further to be away from the bus zone. I was really appreciative of his advice and did as he suggested. Once I got inside, the same person who advised me about the parking situation ended up also cutting my sons hair. To my surprise, my kid did not throw a tantrum, he did not cry and he wasn't even upset to sit by himself. I think it's maybe because he saw there were other men there and he didn't went to make a scene out of respect. Either way, I put my iPhone on for him and he was quiet but once the blades came out, he moved around a little bit. I didn't went my kiddo to get cut and bleed because of his jolting so I offered to hold his head down which really helped the hair stylist Omar. Omar was so patient and kind with my kid, I could see that he has had his fair share of experience working with kids! The haircut itself didn't take longer than 20 minutes but he did a good job and I was extra happy because no shirts of mine were destroyed! The only reason I am giving four stars is because this place could use a good deep cleaning. I could tell they maintain the order once every customer is done with their haircut and they sweep but there is definitely a need for a deep scrub on the surface and floors along with organization of where material is stored. I think it would make the salon glisten and definitely appeal to more customers!
