I actually worked at Captain Cones for two years before purchasing the shop, and during that time I learned a great deal from Stan and Mike. Because of that, we've kept nearly everything the same--including our distributors, the ice cream you love, and even the cones. In fact, we made a few positive changes, such as lowering prices on all our toppings and not charging extra for waffle cones, unlike many other shops in the area. We also weigh every serving of ice cream to ensure consistency and fairness, just as I was taught by the previous owners. We've never served just two ounces, and our cones are exactly the same ones we've always used. Regarding the vanilla ice cream, we were hit with unusually high demand recently, which is common during peak summer weeks. As for wait times, we've never had anyone wait 20 minutes after ordering, as we always have a full team on to keep things running smoothly. I'm truly sorry your experience didn't meet expectations. I have been eating at Bob's Seafood Cafe for many years and it has improved in significant ways…read moresince it was transferred to new ownership in 2017. It has retained its iconic "Best in Cape Cod" Lobster Roll from The Raw Bar next door, and improved the dining and bar menu. The food was quite good. The bar side deck was renovated to allow service directly from the bar with counter seating. A triangular sail cover now stretches over the cleaned up deck, a visible improvement. They still retain counter-style service with flagged numbers for servers to run out and find the customers but the layout of the restaurant seemed to make it difficult for the runner that day. I would like to see the traditional table service offered at The Raw Bar at least on one side of the restaurant if tips are being asked for at the counter.
